Winter is almost over, which means – spring collections!! I love spring collections, they always seem so exciting and fresh after the deeper, warmer colors of winter. The newest collection from FACE Stockholm is called the Song of Spring.
The model for their new collection is Swedish singer and songwriter Sibel. Isn’t she gorgeous?? FACE Stockholm says “Sibel embodies the determination, vibrance and enthusiasm of the season, the voice that resonates within us all when we hear the song of spring.”
This collection includes Powder Foundation, Lash Lift Mascara, Nastan Svart and #24 eyeshadows, Lauren Lip Liner, and Matte Basic Lipstick. Today we have swatches of the eyeshadows and lip products for you.
Nastan Svart ($20), a new shade for FACE Stockholm, is a beautiful deep gray matte eyeshadow described as ‘almost black’. This is a HUGE pan of eyeshadow (1 oz. compared to MAC’s 0.05 oz).
This makes a great liner when used wet or dry, and it also sheers out beautifully for a smoky eye. It’s extremely smooth for a matte eyeshadow and hyper-pigmented. It’s a terrific basic shade that should be in every collection.
The other eyeshadow in the collection is the breathtaking Pearl Eyeshadow #24 ($19). This is smaller than the matte shadow at .07 oz. The Pearl Eyeshadows are lovely, they are smooth and somewhat sheer. You can use them alone, or layer them over the matte shadows for even more fun.
#24 is a surprisingly cheery strawberry red. Sibel wears it beautifully, and I find that #24 does triple duty – it works as an eyeshadow, a blush, and a really pretty lip shade when mixed with some clear lip gloss. Together these two shades make dramatic eyes that are a perfect ‘spring’ match with the neutral lip shades.
I find that FACE Stockholm lip liners are soft and super pigmented, so they are great on their own or as a base for lip gloss or lipstick.
Lauren Lip Liner ($17) is a rosy nude. This a really beautiful neutral – it’s on the cool side, which is a plus for me as I don’t do well with too much brown in my neutral lip shades. It’s gorgeous under a shimmery clear lip gloss, and it’s perfect under the lipstick in this collection, Matte Basic Lipstick ($22).
Matte Basic is a perfect pinky-nude. I know it’s got the word ‘Matte’ in the name, but I swear it has slight shimmer that makes it really fabulous.
By itself, Matte Basic is a light neutral pink that is a terrific ‘your lips but better’. Over the Lauren Lip Liner, it’s more intense with more rose.
I love the combination of a matte deep gray and a bright strawberry for the eye look, along with slightly cool neutral lips. When looking at the new spring collections, be sure to check out the wonderful combination of shades from FACE Stockholm. It’s super springy and super fun! – Lisa
