Side by Side – YBF Skincare

YBF Skincare has not gotten the love it deserves on Beauty Info Zone. This is a line that both Lisa and Marcia are thrilled with and use all the time yet we keep forgetting to review it. There is one review about their two wonderful lip products Quench and Define. But that’s only touching the surface of this incredible line.

Today we are going to try to remedy this with some of our favorite products. We’ve both picked what we want to review but this is not a ‘versus’ review because everything about the line is positive so no duking it out like we’ve done in the past.

YBF stands for Your Best Face and Darrell & Kimberley who created this line know what works to make this happen. It’s fascinating to read about these two young entrepreneurs but it’s more fascinating to read how much they know about skincare. YBF is loaded with the antioxidants that our skin needs to remain looking as youthful as possible. The products are as wonderful for those in their 20’s as they are for us more mature women.

Now onto some favorites SIDE BY SIDE….

MARCIA’S SIDE:

I’m choosing two products to teach you about: restore and refresh. They sound like a singing group but the only singing that will go on is what your skin says after you discover this line.

The reason I picked Restore over hydrate B to discuss is that I love the fragrance of it. For me to say that is quite unique. It brings a smile to my face when I apply this every morning. This slightly thick serum smells like almond to me. It doesn’t take a lot of product to get the benefits from it. It brightens skin while at the same time soothes and refreshes. The active ingredients are Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (vitamin C), Alpha Arbutin, Niacin, Vitamin B5 and E along with other anti-oxidants. The Vitamin C in this is what helps create the brightness in my skin. I recently had a not so fun blemish on my cheek and when I started applying Restore more liberally on it, it helped it heal. Even though this is recommended to be used in the evening I prefer it during the day since it’s great under my foundation and it helps diminish dark spots.

Refresh is one of the two eye care products from YBF. I also use this during the day given that it helps with elasticity and to diminish the appearance of dark circles. Ms. Insomnia really needs things that help with dark circles and refresh is helping.  This contains so many anti-oxidants (idebenone, spin trp, L-carnosine) and peptides that I know it’s helping with those fine lines that plague my eyes. It also contains caffeine which is an immediate eye perker-upper. This doesn’t interfere with eye makeup at all, no smudging under my eyes from mascara because refresh absorbs quickly. (this is a deluxe sample size)

I’m using several other YBF products because this line is really topnotch and does help give me my BEST FACE.

LISA’S SIDE:I love hydrate B concentrate ($40) and I use this every day.  Hydrate B has Hyaluronate, Panthenol, Niacin, and DMAE in it.  Put all those ingredients together into a cooling, easily absorbed gel, and you have a product that makes all your other products work even better.  Hydrate B is applied first before any serums or moisturizers, and it draws those products deeper into the skin.  It helps your other products to not only better penetrate the skin, but also stay active in your skin longer.  It can be used instead of a toner.  I absolutely feel like my other products work better when I use this first.

That’s not my only love from YBF, I also totally adore boost ($65), especially when my skin gets oily and blemish-prone. 

Boost is a light-weight moisturizer that is perfect for those who have problem with break outs.  It has a plethora of terrific ingredients, including white tea, cucumber extract, caffiene, Homeostatine, Renovage, niacin, vitamin B5, vitamin E, and Lipocroman-6.  Put all that together and you get a wonderful moisturizer that doesn’t clog pores, clarifies, tightens, tones, and keeps away blemishes.  It really does give my skin a wonderful added ‘boost’.
