We all have morning beauty routines and mine always includes using an eye cream or serum. I’ve preached to you so often about eye creams and that’s because I regret not starting them earlier in my life. Now though I am diligent about my eyes since I know how much they show age.

Osmosis has two eye products: Osmosis Refresh and Osmosis Refresh PM. I was sent Osmosis Refresh ($60) for morning use since I wasn’t using a specific eye product for day.

This lovely eye serum targets dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. Happily it has no fragrance. When first pumped out it looks like a lightweight eye cream but when applied it becomes more like a looser serum. Refresh doesn’t take long before it’s absorbed making it ideal for a pre-makeup treatment.

The packaging is ideal as it is in a pump that products the ingredients from exposure. It works all day when absorbed to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Now that my undereye area is looking more vibrant and smooth I can move onto my favorite part of makeup – eyeshadow. ECCO BELLA Flowercolor eyeshadows are sold as refills so you can mix or match. There are 12 shades available ($14.95) and I was sent two to represent the line. I was anxious to try Smokey Mauve but was on the fence about Clay. Well it turns out that I have worn Clay over and over, more so than the pretty Smokey Mauve.

Both of these eyeshadows have an amazingly smooth finish that to me belies the fact that they are matte shadows. I don’t normally gravitate towards matte but these are the best I’ve tried. They not only apply easily and smoothly but they are never patchy. With an eyeshadow primer they last the entire day without fading. I love to wear Camel on the entire lid with a medium brown eyeshadow like their Earth shade in the crease. Sadly my computer crashed and I lost all of my pictures so I can’t show you how pretty these swatch. As you can see from the above photos they also sell a refillable eyeshadow palette ($9.95) that fit two of their shadows. They also come with a small metallic square though so you can keep them in a separate palette.

One of the reasons I was happy about trying out Ecco Bella is their philosophy. The line is cruelty free and doesn’t contain toxins or chemicals to dry and irritate skin, only a pure mineral enriched formula along with the best natural ingredients. The eyeshadows are formulated with Flower Wax which is what naturally protects the leaves of flowers from the elements.

Founded by social entrepreneur Sally Malanga, Ecco Bella has been a pioneer in natural and organic beauty products for over 23 years. Malanga began Ecco Bella, a name that means “Behold Beautiful!” to celebrate the beauty of her customers, because of her disgust with the use of animals for product testing, and with respect for the wonder of nature. To that end, Malanga realized there was a world of plant-based ingredients including powerful nutraceuticals from ethical suppliers that could transform the world’s approach to beauty.

Ingredients: Mica, kaolin, cornstarch/zea mays*, zinc oxide, sweet almond oil/prunis dulcis*, green tea extract/camellia sinensis*, aloe barbadensis extract*, flower wax, iron oxides, sodium levulinate/anisate. May contain: Zinc stearate, *Certified organic/certifié biologique.

My mornings are enhanced with these two products and I’m thrilled to have them in my life.  —  Marcia

I love q good eye cream, especially as I age. I find that some do not play well with my under eye concealer, however. How does this one fair?

  2. Allison | 23rd Jan 17

I haven’t tried Osmosis skincare yet and I know that’s their primary claim to fame. The eye serum looks great! Ecco Bella is new to me – pretty colors!

I need to try Osmosis brand since this is about the fourth review I’ve read! I have heard of Ecco Bella makeup and actually tried a sample. I like the refill system for less waste.

I have only tried the Osmosis PM and I do love it. It’s super thick and not appropriate for daytime wear. I’d love to try this formula for daytime use in the future.
