The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel and Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel and Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-GelThe Body Shop is always a favorite line of mine not only because I love their products but also because I love their mission. They aren’t just here to make your skin better — they are here to make the world better too. The Body Shop was the first to engage in fair trade in beauty and they have had my heart since the 1980’s.                                                                                                           #TheBodyShopProvidedProduct

The Body Shop has two new skin care launches that are notable in their ingenuity. Of course, they are enhanced with products from The Body Shop’s Community Trade Program and the products are never tested on animals. They sent me these two new products, and for me one was a total miss and the other was a hit.The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel

The NEW Drops of Youth™ Youth Liquid Peel ($25) is a gel exfoliator that peels off dead skin and excess oils. You smooth this on clean, dry skin, then massage it in for a few minutes. The gel lifts off all the crap that is clogging your skin, then you rinse it off for a smoother, less congested visage.  People definitely seem to like it –

Instantly feels like dead skin cells are lifted (88% agree*)
Peels off impurities and pollutants (88% agree*)
Skin feels cleansed from day’s pollution (86% agree*)
*when tested on 109 women

However, this didn’t work for me. It was fine up until the rinsing off stage. I could not get all the clumps of gel and dead skin to rinse off no matter what I did! I ended up using my Luna, rewashing my face, using makeup remover…I still have some remainders along my chin line. It’s just bizarre.  Maybe it’s my wonky skin and you will have a totally different experience, but this was a real bummer for me.

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-GelI had a different experience with the Oils of Life™ NEW Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel ($32). This is a gel eye treatment that has a light and airy texture. It’s really cool – you can see the tiny shimmers in it that also help brighten the eye area.   The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-GelThe Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Eye Cream-Gel

Again, people seem to really like this product –

  • Eye life for your eyes
  • Eye contour looks smoother – 100%*
  • Radiance appears revived – 96% agree*
  • Dark circles appear faded – 90% agree*
  • Wrinkles appear smoother – 87% agree**
*Results of Eye-Cream Gel self-assessments on the eye contour – 50 women
** Results of Eye-Cream Gel self-assessments on the eye contour – 100 women

And with this one, I agree! This eye gel/cream feels cool when applied and it calms down puffiness. It’s very hydrating so fine lines and wrinkles are plumped up and the tiny shimmers really lighten the eye area and counter any dark circles. Hooray, it’s a winner!!

You can find The Body Shop products at malls throughout the world as well as online.  – Lisa

  1. The Drops of Youth peel is my all time fave. Works like a charm!

  2. Ugh, now I’m torn on the Drops of Youth product. I wanted to try it after seeing Phyrra rave about it for her February favs. Maybe I will give it a shot and see, I know not everything works for everyone!

  3. The Drops of Youth Peel is FANTASTIC!!!!! I really want to try the Oils of Life Eye Gel!

  4. OMG I can’t believe you had that issue with Drops of Youth! I love it!

  5. I still want the Drops of Youth!

  6. Kathryne says:

I also adore the body shop. Too bad the one closest to me close down so I have to either drive downtown or order online with expensive shipping. My favorites from them our body scrub and wash. This is something I need to try next

  7. beautyin says:

I think it’s a great example of how everyone’s skin is just so different! As much as I tried, I never could get Drops of Youth to work for me. I am so jealous of everyone else who loves it!!

  8. The peel sounds weird! Products where you have to massage till you can feel the pills of gunk don’t work for me either.

  9. I love the eye gel. The Peel is also amazing, however it got stuck to the fine hair along my cheeks so I had to shave the peach fuzz. It works much better now.

  10. I’ve heard great things about both of these!

  11. I LOVE the drops of youth peel and it’s a bummer that it caused that issue for you. It did that for me the first time I used it… but it seemed to work after, I also used a lot less the other tries I used it. I hope you can figure out a way to make use of it.
