Youngblood Cosmetics has some great new colors and products for summer that make their debut June 1st. Here’s a sneak peek at a few items that will become available – Marcia will have more colors and swatches in a few days.
Speaking of marvelous Marcia, she absolutely raves about the Luminous Creme Blush ($27), read her review HERE. There are two new colors in the summer collection, Plum Satin and Pink Cashmere. I tried the Plum Satin.
This is SUCH a beautiful color!! It’s a sort of berry/rose/pink, with teensy shimmers that translate into ‘glow-from-within’. I typically use my fingers to apply, or else my Sonia Kashuk flat top blush brush.
The formula is oil-free, and it also has Allantain which is a moisturizer and an anti-irritant, as well as Jojoba Esters, which makes the blush nicely emollient.
The texture is creamy but not sticky, and it imparts a gorgeous, natural looking luminosity. I love it!
There are seven shades available: Confessed, watermelon red; Exposed, sheer grape; Revealed, peach-pink with gold shimmer; Stripped, clear with iridescent shimmer; Bared, sheer peach; Displayed, sheer orange-red with gold shimmer; and Unveiled, sheer shimmery pink. I tried Confessed and Stripped.
Confessed is on top, Stripped is on the bottom. I adore the texture of these – it’s a thick gel that imparts huge shine, but it isn’t sticky! The feel is very emollient, which I like. I hate for my lips to feel dry, and this formula keeps them feeling very ‘glossed’, plus it lasts far longer than I had even hoped.
I really love the applicator. You squeeze the tube and the gel comes out the tip, which is a lot more sanitary than a pot of gloss. The formula is full of great ingredients that are terrific for your lips: Momordica Grosvenorii Fruit Extract to fight free radicals, Jojoba Seed Oil which is an emollient source of Vitamin E, Meadowfoam Seed Oil as a conditioning agent, and Sweet Almond Oil which has Vitamin D and softens skin.
Confessed is an extremely wearable watermelon-red. It’s quite sheer, but it still imparts some color. There isn’t any shimmer in this, but it’s so super shiny who needs shimmer?? It looks great by itself, and is also a fantastic choice for over a lip liner.
Stripped is clear with iridescent shimmers. It’s so beautiful, pictures just don’t do this justice. If you have pigmented lips (which I don’t) this is great on its own. And it’s also the perfect complement to any lip liner or matte lipstick.
I am very impressed with both the cream blush and the lip gels (pictured above I am wearing the Plum Satin Blush and Confessed Mighty Shine Lip Gel). The products are fabulous, and the colors I tried are wonderful. I think I NEED Revealed Mighty Shine Lip Gel (peach-pink with gold shimmer) and Displayed Mighty Shine Lip Gel (sheer orange-red with gold shimmer), so I will definitely be doing some shopping on June 1st. – Lisa
