I feel that Wantable’s subscription box needs no introduction since I write about it monthly and rave about it monthly too. In my book it’s the premier cosmetic subscription service around because they are all about COSMETICS. They aren’t sending me skincare to add to my piles of that. They aren’t sending me fragrance, thank goodness. I don’t have to worry about hair products that aren’t good for my hair. What they send for $36 a month is what I love – color cosmetics. Piles of that don’t bother me!
My December box was sent for review while previous boxes were purchased by me. I was fortunate enough to earn some credits by subscribers purchasing the box so I thank you for that. But now let’s get onto the good stuff – introducing my personal WANTABLE BOX FOR DECEMBER 2013.
On my profile I’ve got Eyeliner as a “love” item and I was especially excited about the EVELINE EYELINER MARKER ($10.99) included this month. Lately I’m on a liquid eyeliner journey and wear liquids easily 5 out of 7 days. EVELINE is a brand I never had heard of before which is one of the things I love about Wantable.
The point on this is firm so it’s very easy to use. I can do a one stroke liner with it though Eveline also recommends dotting along your lash line and then connecting in small strokes. While this needs a little touch up on the bottom lashline for me, it lasts the entire day on the top.
MICHAEL MARCUS SHADOW PRIME ($24) – I put eyeshadow as one of my “loves” and Wantable knows that eyeshadow needs a good eyeshadow primer. The primer reminds me a lot of Paula Dorf’s Eye Prime in consistency and color. This is a thick cream product. I apply it with a brush since my nails are too long for the pot but then I smooth with my finger. If I put on too much though it tends to eat my shadow so I have to be careful with the amount and be sure to let it melt into my skin. Where a thick cream can especially work well is with a pigment since it gives the loose powders something to grab onto. I need to try it with some of my sparkly shadows too.
My next two products are from my “like” list – blush and lip gloss. The lip gloss is from 29 Cosmetics and it’s Dew Lip Gloss in Top It Off ($24). The color is a very sheer pale pink. It doesn’t give much color actually but it feels really good one the lips to top off a lipstick.
GIRLACTIK BEAUTY BLUSH in MILAN ($18) is a soft and luxurious feeling lilac pink blush. On the Girlactik website it shows this is the newest shade they’ve created. It also says that it’s a matte nude pink. It’s a silky matte but it’s not nude on me. It’s just a pretty light shade that I think is on the cool side. Since my skin is very fair though it probably is more of a nude on someone with darker skin.
Wantable always includes an extra in their packages and this month’s is just the cutest. It would make a great stocking stuffer or gift to put in a birthday card to a friend. Look at these cute GLAM GIRL MATCHBOX EMERY FILES from Kikkerland. Perfect size to put in a makeup bag and with its matchbox cover it won’t scratch anything. (I found them at shopinbliss.com for $1.99)
Another wonderful box that was a thrill to open. I always discover new brands and feel like I’m opening a birthday present when Wantable’s Cosmetic box arrives. Have you subscribed? You know you want to! — Marcia
