Makeup Wars shares beauty storage solutions

 photo makeup-wars.jpg

This week’s Makeup Wars is an exciting one. The problem is that this is going to be long long long. I won’t bore you with details but there will be a lot of pictures. One of the reasons this is going to be so long is that I, along with a few other “warriors”, received the Sherrieblossom ICEbOX Lucite storage container and it’s absolutely amazing. My mouth dropped open when I saw it in person. Pictures made me crave it but the reality makes it a dream come true. I’m still playing with mine deciding exactly how to arrange it and what I want in it so another full review will be upcoming.

Since I started writing about cosmetics a dozen+ years ago my collection began growing. Just about that time we remodeled our bathroom so I’m lucky enough to have some storage. I have an angled area with my sink at the right. I’m able to use a stool to sit on to do my makeup so I use a two sided mirror. Underneath I have room for these two storage unitswars storage red and clearThe red piece is a thin file cabinet I found on sale at a modern supply store which is now out of business. It’s a treasure for storing items like blush and eyeshadow. The problem is that items get hidden in the back and I can’t see them. It was about $200 and worth every penny. I’ve looked and looked to find something similar but haven’t found it again. To the right of that is my very messy Sterlite organizer bought at Target. I’m overdue for a rearrangement on it. Ignore that mess and look at some of the drawers though on my red file cabinet:

I once did an entire post on how I store my brushes and pencils on Beauty Spotlight Team. With my Sherrieblossom ICEbOX though I’m storing a lot of what was in these cups so that I will have more room and less mess.

Now that the basics are out of the way – here comes the STAR of the show. Introducing Sherrieblossom ICEbOX

Sherrieblossom ICEbOX is top notch quality wise. You can do so much with it. If you aren’t a makeup maven you could use it for jewelry, desk supplies, craft items, skincare galore. As a first class makeup maven I’m using mine for cosmetics I want to find more easily. When it arrived it came with the angled pieces seen in the picture just above. It also has rectangular pieces that you can move to separate items. Plus it came with a lot of extra lucite pieces to arrange things the way you want. Here are some of my finished drawers:

I can’t recommend this storage unit from Sherrieblossom ICEbOX highly enough. It’s sold on her website and at some Neiman Marcus stores. I haven’t finished filling it yet my other drawers have much more room now and I’ll be able to find what I use all the time by storing it in my ICEbOX. You’ll be seeing a lot more of my ICEbOX as it fills up and fills my life.

Please join the other Makeup Wars ladies as they share their systems. I doubt they’ll tempt me now because I’m lucky enough to have the best of the best. What do you use for storage? Do you have anything unique? — Marcia

Your photos of the ICEbOX are gorgeous!!!!!! I’m so addicted to mine <3

  2. Phyrra | 30th Sep 13

    The Icebox is so fabulous!

  3. Kelly | 30th Sep 13

I love the idea of seeing everything! I need to look into one of these icebox thingies….

  4. Alllacqueredup | 30th Sep 13

The red cart reminds me of a Sears Craftsman tool box, only smaller. I would love to find something like that.

  5. lola seicento | 30th Sep 13

OMG- I would give my first born to get my hands on one of these! This is exactly what I need in my life!

  6. Teri | 30th Sep 13

That red piece looks like a toolbox and I’ve always thought of using those for my storage, though I would prefer it in white. It is so heavy duty!

  7. beautyin | 30th Sep 13

Teri, the red was a find. If I’d known the store was going out of business I’d have bought another. It came in other colors but it was just around Valentine’s Day and they’d put the red on sale. My room is gray and white so the red works. It has held up like new for about 10 years.

  8. beautyin | 30th Sep 13

Hi Lola, yes you should give up the first born for that – easily said since you don’t have one! The Icebox is worth the money. It’s beautiful, sturdy and practical.

  9. beautyin | 30th Sep 13

Alllacqueredup – I’ve looked at the Sears but they are so heavy duty. I was thinking of trying a real art store to see what they have there.

  10. beautyin | 30th Sep 13

Kelly, you’d love an Icebox. It’s beautiful and because it’s so organized I feel less guilty.

  11. beautyin | 30th Sep 13

Hi Brooke, I wish I’d gotten even better pictures. My bathroom is mirrored on two walls and I didn’t want to be in the picture! The ICEbOX is the best storage ever.

  12. lola seicento | 30th Sep 13

True enough! I would be sooooo happy to have one, but the price makes it a bit out of reach 🙁 I suppose that I can dream! My collection is out of control and I definitely need a better storage solution– this would be perfect. I have been eyeing these for a while, and almost purchased a Muji storage 5 drawer, but it is too small! I will just have to live vicariously through you instead!

  13. Pammy | 30th Sep 13

Ooooooh! I want one of those Sherrieblossom Icebox thingys!!! That looks perfect! Love your red drawer unit, too! 🙂

  14. Christine | 30th Sep 13

I can’t wait to see your IceBox when it is all done!

  15. Cindy (Prime Beauty) | 30th Sep 13

I need two more of the SherriBlossom units!! They really are fantastic!!

  16. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

Christine I’m still playing. I keep moving things. This is the best time ever! Another post will follow once I’m done.

  17. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

Hi Pammy, I love my red drawers and only wish things didn’t get hidden. It’s the perfect size to fit under my vanity so it’s easy to get into at least.

  18. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

Two more SherriBlossom ICEbOXes would be so amazing. I’m going to start collecting cans to pay for another. At 10 cents per Diet Coke it might take me a while though. LOL

  19. Gauri | 1st Oct 13

    The ICEbox looks so good…

  20. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

    Thanks Gauri, it’s heavenly.

  21. Erika | 1st Oct 13

I love seeing makeup collections and how they are organized. That Ice Box looks great. Too spendy for my blood but great. I’ll drool over it in everyone else’s blogs. 😀

  22. Krystle(Baking Beauty) | 1st Oct 13

I love your set up! I really want to get one an Icebox!

  23. Carol | 1st Oct 13

This looks incredible! I’m sure you won’t have a tough time filling it up!

  24. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

@Carol… I’m having a blast rearranging things. It’s full but I’m still playing!

  25. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

Krystle, the Icebox is only amazing. I’m craving another and will ask for it for my birthday – if I can wait that long.

  26. beautyin | 1st Oct 13

Erika, it was a dream to get this and now I want another very badly!
