We were recently introduced to VERT Beauty and sent a few products so that you can learn about them too. VERT Beauty is a website dedicated to carrying the best natural and organic brands of cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, bath & body, and hair care. The 38 brands they carry are wonderful with some you know about already but many that you’ll be glad to learn about too.
VERT is building their own brand and we were sent their concealer pencil along with a few eyeliner pencils.
MARCIA WEARS VERT BEAUTY CONCEALER IN CLAIR
Vert calls their concealer pencil a medium coverage pencil but in Claire (the lightest) I find it to be slightly more than medium. The really nice thing about this though is that the amount of coverage is variable so you have easy control over how much coverage you’ll actually get.
The Concealer Pencils ($20) are available in three shades:
Clair: Ideal for porcelain to fair complexions
Lumière: Perfect for moderately fair complexions
Moyen: Just right for medium skin tones
I like having a variety of concealers. With a pencil I have more control and less waste. I can spot treat or draw lines where I need coverage. I usually use a cosmetic sponge to blend. Vert’s pencil is very creamy and easy to apply. I think that’s due to the anti-aging Vitamin E and Shea Butter used in the formula. It keeps it firm yet makes it easy to glide on without tugging.
Not only does this work well as a concealer but it’s also great to use on my lips to keep color from feathering. The only downside with this is that Vert really needs to increase the number of colors since even their darkest shade isn’t going to be dark enough for more than a dark medium skin tone. For the rest of us though this is a great natural choice that’s portable and helps my dark circles.
LISA WEARS VERT BEAUTY EYELINER PENCILS
Marcia isn’t much of a pencil eyeliner gal, but I am. I love the ease of pencils and the fact that I don’t need a separate brush for application. The one thing that has always frustrated me about pencil eyeliners is the lack of shimmer. Even if the pencil looks shimmery, it’s tough to find a pencil that actually applies that way.
VERT Beauty Eyeliner Pencils ($17) have the rich color typically found with gel eyeliners, plus shimmer that actually shows up! The ingredients include mango and meadowfoam seed oils, which make these a little softer and easier to apply than typical pencil eyeliners. The colors I was sent include:
Cuivre: A sparkling, intense copper
Bleu: An elegant, eye-brightening navy
Violet: A royally rich purple
Vert: A seductive cross between turquoise and jade
These pencils are all gorgeous and I especially love Cuivre for a softer look and Vert, which is unlike anything I have and goes great with my brownish-green eyes. You can sharpen these pencils to a very sharp point for a precise thin line, and they can also be smudged out for a smoky eye.
There’s one more shade that I don’t have that sounds really beautiful – Noir Or: The ultimate, sexy black gold.
We are loving Vert Beauty pencils, both concealer and eyeliner! Check out this line for these winning products and so much more.
