I was a product of learning to read with Dick and Jane. They helped teach me how to read and eventually to have a love of reading. Little did I know that Jane (Iredale) would also help me with my love of cosmetics. Dick hasn’t been a great help in this other than the fact that I like looking good for every Tom, Dick and Harry.
Here’s some of the cosmetics Jane Iredale has helped reinvent my life with.
Liquid Mineral Foundation:
What an interesting concept this is. When I first opened the box I was a little concerned that instead of foundation I was sent primer. It doesn’t look like any foundation I’ve ever seen before. As you can see by the picture, it’s small beads of color suspended in a liquid that happens to be a base of aloe vera gel and vegetable glycerin. It’s fascinating when I pump out the foundation and actually see color. It doesn’t look like it could happen that way but it definitely does. The foundation is very lightweight and feels terrific on my skin. I find that one layer of the foundation gives me a nice light moisturized finish. I often add a second layer though to make sure that all the small discolorations on my face are covered. If I have a blemish (like I do right now) then I use Jane Iredale’s Circle/Delete on that part only and then cover with the Liquid Mineral Foundation. Not only do I love the fun of this product but I love how it makes my skin look so natural. As you can see by the ingredients, the first one is Water which makes the foundation feel light and comfortable plus this is loaded with botanicals.
I wear this in Bisque which is a perfect match for my NW15 foundation but it’s easy for me to tell that this will be adaptable to other light skintones. I’ve applied this with a dry foundation brush and also with my very lightly dampened Beauty Blender sponge. Both do an excellent job of coverage. With 18 shades and an excellent chart on what works for different skintones, I think you’ll find a shade for you. If you are looking for a light to medium coverage I’d recommend this liquid mineral foundation.
Ingredients: Water/Eau/Aqua, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerin, Algae, Sodium Hyaluronate, Oat Kernel Extract, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Willow Bark Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil, White Tea Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Radish Root Extract, Carrageenan Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Squalane, Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), Boron Nitride, Stearic Acid. May Contain: Mica, Iron Oxides, Chromium Oxide Greens.
Circle/Delete Concealer:
After reading loads of reviews about the wonders of this concealer I had to buy it from Beauty.com. Those reviews were right. This is an excellent concealer and one I’m glad to have in my repertoire. Like a lot of Jane Iredale products this one does double duty. Not only is it a concealer but it acts as an eye treatment too. It contains jojoba esters and avocado oil, both high in vitamins A, C, D and E and green tea extract, a potent antioxidant. This comes in a dual color compact. I wear it in the lightest combination, shade 1, and mostly use the lightest side. It’s double duty for me as a makeup artist since it gives me 3 shades to use (separately or a third shade created by blending the two together). The concealer is creamy but doesn’t settle into my fine lines; it’s easy to apply and blend because of the consistency.
I’ve been happy with both of these products and feel confident in recommending them. The Liquid Mineral Foundation has been great for me this summer. Circle/Delete has worked well for me since I bought it last fall. If you want to attract any Tom, Dick or Harry then RUN to Jane (Iredale) for some fabulous cosmetics. — Marcia

[...] Jane Iredale Liquid Mineral Foundation – for me this seems more like a tinted moisturizer than a regular foundation. It’s very lightweight and worked well for me during the summer months when I wanted coverage but nothing that would smother my face. This Jane Iredale foundation has become a staple in my foundation wardrobe already. [...]
