Wen Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin

The scent of Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin doesn’t actually smell much like pumpkin to me, but it does smell like fall! I smell honey, cloves, and nutmeg. The fragrance is not too strong, but just enough to smell like cooler weather, falling leaves, and bonfires after football games. It’s lovely and a wonderful way to change up your WEN routine for the season.

Are you new to WEN? If so, I really recommend that you give this system a try. It’s been around for 16 years now. It was definitely a ground breaking concept when it first came out – not washing your hair but conditioning it clean. I remember that back in the day what finally sold me and convinced me to try the product was that Chaz Dean, creator of Wen, decided to use transparency as a marketing tool. He is very up front in his infomercial that most hair companies use all kinds of other products they don’t disclose to get the models looking fabulous, and in his infomercial, the only thing they used was the Cleansing Conditioner.

Wen Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Cleansing Conditioner

My hair is oily at the roots, dry at the ends, and color-treated. If I wash too often, my color fades very quickly. Not enough moisture and my hair gets very frizzy. If my hair isn’t cleansed well enough, it looks greasy and flat. So many issues…and for some reason I thought that the WEN product didn’t clean, it just conditioned. I was wrong. When used correctly, it does clean – hence the name  ‘Cleansing Conditioner’.

The WEN cleansing method is quite different from the way I usually cleanse my hair. The major difference is that you are instructed to use a LOT of product – 30 (yes, I said 30) pumps for shoulder length, medium textured hair like mine. Before application I really, REALLY soak my hair with water and then apply equal amounts of WEN to the crown, nape, and either side of my hair. After application the product must be worked in well – by massaging the scalp, raking and combing it through the hair, and twisting sections and just smooshing it in. I then leave it on while performing the other parts of my shower ritual (shaving, exfoliating, etc.) before rinsing it out. WEN advises to rinse VERY well- a friend and WEN user suggested I rinse about as long as I usually do with any shampoo- and then do it again. After rinsing, I apply another pump or 2 as leave-in conditioner.

Wen Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Nourishing Mousse

This was my first time trying the WEN® Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Nourishing Mousse. It adds lots of volume and body to hair, as well as a good amount of shine.  Plus it doesn’t make my hair sticky or clumpy, which a lot of mousse products tend to do since my hair is really fine. Just apply this to wet hair before blow drying for beautiful body and shiny locks.

Wen Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Replenishing Treatment Mist

The WEN Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin Replenishing Treatment Mist has a wonderful, vanilla/honey/nutmeg smell. I use this in the AM on days I don’t wash my hair to ‘re-invigorate’ my locks prior to styling. It makes my hair feel moist but not greasy, and the smell is very uplifting as well. The bottle suggests using it on face and body too, but I save it for my hair.

You can purchase WEN products at Chaz Dean’s salon in Hollywood, California, on his website (www.chazdean.com) and through QVC.com.  Get yourself some Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin  while you still can!!- Lisa
