I love the days I find a Wantable package on my front porch. I never have any doubt that what’s inside will either be items soon to become a staple in my wardrobe, or else ones that go a little outside my comfort zone and challenge me to take a risk. This month, all my items are staples…nothing outrageous, but lots that fit right into my accessories wardrobe, rounding it out nicely and adding versatility.

Wantable July 2015 Accesorries Collection Ellen Scarf

Wantable July 2015 Accessories Collection Ellen Scarf

The Ellen Scarf (retail value $28) is a beautiful light scarf with paisley grey print on an off-white background. I love it because it is so versatile. It works great paired with everything from denim to a summer dress. I brought it with me to the movies because the cinema is always so cold and it was a perfect weight to carry and also give me a little warmth.

Wantable July 2015 Accesories Collection Caroline Bracelet

Wantable July 2015 Accessories Collection Caroline Bracelet

The Caroline Bracelet (retail value $19) is simple yet beautiful. This cuff bracelet is made of brass and has stunning chain link accents. Again, versatile is the word – I wear it with jeans shorts and a white t-shirt or with a summer maxi dress.

Wantable July 2015 Accessories Collection Pamela Necklace

I can never have enough long necklaces, so I was happy to find the Pamela Necklace (retail value $17). This is a silver necklace with gold bead accents and a double chain. The longer chain ends with a coin pendant.

Wantable July Accessories Collection Earring Trio

Wantable July Accessories Collection Nala Earring Set

The Nala Earring Set (retail value $19) was actually a mistake in my collection! I was supposed to get the Shanny Ring, but got this fabulous earring trio instead. I think I got lucky! I love the little golden feathers and the other two stud earrings are really pretty when worn together.

Lots of staples that add versatility to my wardrobe in this collection! I am once again a happy camper. With a retail value of $83 this month, Wantable continues to be a subscription service well worth the monthly price. A hit and a miss from Wantable Cosmetics

I’ve been a subscriber to Wantable’s Cosmetic boxes for several years now. Occasionally I receive a box for review which I did with the two boxes I’m going to share today. I’m grateful when that happens and hate to bash them if there’s a miss but one of these two boxes is a total miss for me which is unfortunate. Let me know if either of these would be a hit or a miss for you.

FEBRUARY’S COSMETIC WANTABLE BOX:

Wantable Cosmetics for February

Wantable Cosmetics for February

As usual there are only full size cosmetic items in this package. A subscription costs $36 per month and this February box has a value of $77 which is makes it worth twice as much as paid.

1) BODYOGRAPHY LOOSE COMPLEXION POWDER in PORCELAIN ($24) – this has a very smooth and silky texture and the color is perfect for my fair skin.

2) BODYOGRAPHY MAKEUP REMOVER WIPES ($12) – this contains 50 wipes. I’ve never seen a package of wipes this big. It’s double the typical size. I won’t use this on my eyes even though it says it can remove waterproof makeup but these will get used. It should last me for months and months.

3) LORD & BERRY LIQUID EYELINER in BLACK ($24) – I’m a huge fan of liquid eyeliner though I do have enough black liners for the next few years. This is a truly waterproof liner. I couldn’t get it off my hand with water even hours later. It’s not my favorite type of packaging since I tend to be more messy with a short brush but when I want long lasting, this will be it.

4) FRANKIE ROSE LIPSTICK in PINK MELON ($16) is the prize in the package. My blog partner Lisa has reviewed several Frankie Rose products but this is my first experience with them and it’s a winner! This lipstick is beautifully pigmented and has a beautiful shine all on its own. It’s creamy and moisturizing.

WANTABLE COSMETIC BOX FOR MARCH

WANTABLE for March

My March box has me confused and you’ll soon see why. The value of this box is $66.50 and contains 4 full size products.

1) BODYOGRAPHY NAIL LACQUER in FANCY FREE ($8.50) is a very pretty spring peach cream polish. Even though it’s a full size, Bodyography’s polishes are a little smaller than most.

2) AU NATURALE LIP & CHEEK TINT in PARISIAN PINK ($22) is a conundrum. The color in the pot is very appealing.

The color once applied is basically invisible. I like a light lip but this is totally clear on my lips. And it doesn’t show up on my cheeks. I got one swatch seen below to photograph and never could recreate it.

3) and 4)  BILLION DOLLAR BROWS BROW POWDER in LIGHT BROWN and in TAUPE ($18 each) – UM, why did I get the same product in two shades? And since my hair is dark brown can I really use Light Brown?

I’m sure the idea behind this is to mix the colors but this just doesn’t work for me. I’ve got it already in Taupe (which they couldn’t possibly have known) and I like it in Taupe but I really wish they had sent me a totally different product instead of the Light Brown.

I don’t think you’ll have a problem knowing which is the hit and which is the miss. The great thing about Wantable though is that they have a no hassle return policy. On your packing slip you’ll find the actual cost and the price you’ll get if you return any items. So I can return the ones that don’t work for me and get a credit toward my next box or a refund for the value. Wantable makes a shopping experience easy and fun. You can change around your profile preferences as often as you wish to get the customized box of your dreams. I’m removing powders and brows for now since I’m overloaded and will add back in highlighters which was off my list for a while.

I’ve certainly got some winners from Wantable and even the ones I won’t use might be great for someone else. Which box do you think was my HIT? Are you ready to hit with Wantable? If so please use the Beauty Info Zone affiliate link to sign up.  — Marcia

Lisa’s Top Twelve Picks for 2013

The older I get, the faster times flies…I just can’t believe another year has gone by already!

goodbye-2013-and-hello-2014-32013 was a great year for fantastic finds that I now use almost every day.  Here, in no particular order, are my favorite products that have brought me constant joy.

1.  Verge Ribbon Wand ($120)

Ribbon

and then the Ribbon Wand curl combed through with my fingers…swoon!

The Verge Ribbon Wand is like a curling iron and a flat iron got together and had a baby. It makes extravagant, sort of retro curls.

2.  Wantable Accessories Subscription Box ($40 for one box)

Ellen

Wantable Ellen Necklace

I adore subscription boxes and none continually delighted me as much in 2013 as my Wantable Accessories Subscription Box. My jewelry wardrobe now has far more depth and interest than ever before.

3.  Bronze Buffer (2 sponges for $10)

Ah, sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference. These little sponges (they always make me think of Lisa from The Simpsons!) ensure that my every faux tan is perfection.

4.  HTY Gold

This wonderful line was new to me in 2013 and I adored everything I tested…the Face and Neck Serum is unquestionably worth its weight in gold.

5.  Lanikai Bath and Body

Lanikai is such a gorgeous bath and body line, and I am always up for some Hawaiian daydreaming. I adore, adore, adore the Loofah Soap, it is amazing.

6.  Zuca Artist Backpack ($139)

I use this backpack at least six days a week. I love it. Zuca has tons of amazing travel items and organizational things for makeup artists but this is my favorite. I rarely go anywhere without it.

7.  Make Up For Ever 102 Small Foundation Kabuki Brush ($36)

I use this every single day. It is the best buffing brush for concealer I have ever found.

8.  Bango Hair Cutting Kit ($15.99)

If you have bangs…or if your kids have bangs…you need this. I am a total klutz with scissors and I get perfect results every time. It saved me a ton of money in 2013.

9.  Cailyn Gelux Eyebrow ($22)

I love the ingenious packaging, and I love the eyebrow gel even more. It makes great looking eyebrows a very easy thing to accomplish.

10.  Ellis Faas Hot Lips ($35)

Without fail, one of these liquid lip gloss/stains is always in my purse. I dig everything about them – the texture, the shades, the packaging…and especially how great they make my not-so-great lips look.

11.  Savvy Sleeper Satin Pillowcases (from $36)

Not only does this satin pillowcase prevent those awful morning face creases, it also has a secret pocket for my hubby to slip me a love note. It is awesome.

12.  Senna Voluptulash Mascara ($22)

This is the best mascara I tried in 2013. The super cool helix-shaped brush gives me great big, soft, long lashes with just one coat.  It’s a winner!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  Lisa
