The 6th day of Christmas giveaway: You can never be too rich with Votre Vu!

Votre VuIt’s chic, it’s stylish, it’s rich…it’s Votre Vu. We love, love, love this line because almost everything we try becomes a favorite, from the skin care to the color cosmetics to the body products. For the 6th day of Christmas giveaway at Beauty Info Zone we share some beautiful Votre Vu products with you because you can never be too rich in blessings or in health, so you need to spoil yourself healthy!

Tarte D'Amande Soufflé

Lisa’s side:  TARTE D’AMANDE Soufflé Riche Pour Le Corps (also known as ALMOND PIE Rich Soufflé Lotion for the Body, $39) The name alone sounds like a fabulous dessert that you know might live on your hips for the rest of your life…but it looks and smells so amazing you just don’t even care.  Starting with the scent, it definitely does smell as delicious as you would expect. It is a warm, sweet scent that is a little more almond than pie. It isn’t overly foody or sickeningly sweet, and the almond smells natural, not artificial.  You will definitely sneak some inhales when no one is looking!

Tarte D'Amande Soufflé

The jar is huge and inviting. It comes with a plastic scoop – be sure to use that even though you will want to dig right in with your fingers.  The thick, creamy lotion is really beautiful. Super thick lotions are so moisturizing but they can go on wet and take a while to dry, or even stay a bit tacky on the skin. This one is a wonder, sinking in immediately and leaving skin ultra soft and lustrous. The lotion is full of great ingredients that dry skin will adore – macademia oil, vital, shea butter, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, D panthenol, and cerasome A and E.  As Votre Vu says, this rich body cream is 0% Guilt. 100% Pleasure.  So go ahead and be delicious.

Marcia’s side:  TRAGIC MAGIC RESCUE CREAM

Besides loving a name that rhymes like Tragic Magic, I love that this rescue cream does rescue dry skin. As a French botanical company their products are fragranced but in a delicate way due to the high quality pure ingredients they use. These aren’t artificial fragrances, they come from the french botanicals that the Votre Vu family harvests.

Votre Vu Tragic Magic

Tragic Magic comes to the rescue when your skin is parched since it rebalances your skin. It adds a protective barrier to calm skin when it’s having one of those reactive days (or weeks). This cream is rich and soft and absorbs quickly. Being someone who doesn’t use fragranced skin products often, I tend to use this on my hands and body.

It softens my hands making them feel like baby skin. It does this with ingredients like jojoba, rose hips, calophyllum, soja and avocado that protects and balances skin. It contains Vitamin E to fight against the evil cell-damaging free radicals. While I don’t use this on my face, I think it would be perfect for those who have sensitive skin.

Top 10 Fall lips

Favorite Fall lips

Favorite Fall lips

The calendar tells us that it’s Fall. It’s a mixed blessing in many ways. Pumpkin Spice lovers will be thrilled with the amount of products that are now available. Cider Mills are open with that delicious fresh cider and tantalizing doughnuts. The leaves are starting to change and the colors will be spectacular. We’ll try to ignore how dark it is by 7:30 p.m. and that we need shorts in the day and a parka at night. But what we won’t ignore is the chance to change your lipstick wardrobe. Top Ten Tuesday is here to give you some suggestions of some lips to wear.

My personal favorites are the new PUR MINERALS LIP LURE LIQUID LIPSTICKS *. I have three of the five available and they are perfect for this time of year. These are very pigmented and the colors last for a long time. They are bucking the trend of matte (which is fine for me), instead saturating your lips with color while leaving them feel moisturized. ($22 each, full review coming up)

Another brand of lipstick that is new in my life is SLEEK MAKEUP, TRUE COLOR LIPSTICK *. These lipsticks come in either Sheen or Matte finishes for just $7.49. They are extremely creamy and feel great on my lips. Happily they are fragrance free. When you look these up on Sleek’s website they describe the lipsticks as well as give suggestions for which eyeshadow palette and blush would look great with them. More to come on Sleek MakeUP soon!

I like Nude lipsticks and find that there can be a difference between a summer nude and a fall nude. We all have different interpretations of nude and mine is a light shade but with fall I’ll go deeper. Three of my favorite nudes are Sleek MakeUP Succumb, Tom Ford Sable Smoke, and Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink.

Sleek Succumb is a brownish nude with pink undertones that looks much more pink on me than my swatch. Tom Ford Sable Smoke is a creamy peachy brown that’s not dark and can look different depending on which lipliner I use. Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink is the pinkest of the bunch but it’s not pink.

Dark lips aren’t easy for me to comfortably wear but I do love having some for those special times when I need to look more grown up. You never know when a plum, red, or brown red lipstick is going to up your game. Here are the ones in my collection:

VOTRE VU TATIANA * is a tomato red that I apply with a lip brush to get a softer look. SLEEK CHERRY is a deep vampy red. MELANIE MILLS GLEAM * in Unstoppable is a bright cherry red (photo doesn’t share the true red of this beauty. RIMMEL PROVOCALIPS * in PLAY WITH FIRE is a two sided liquid lipstick that’s a long wearing formula. It’s a beautiful true dark red with a clear sparkly gloss on the opposite end. PIXI BEAUTY MATTELUSTRE PLUM BERRY * is a hybrid of matte and lustre. This is a plummy red that doesn’t show lip lines like a true matte does.

Votre Vu is back and adding color to our lives! A double dose of Votre Vu Cosmetics, Side by Side

Votre Vu is a long time favorite at the BIZ – our first review was way back in 2010! We are always up for a little more French fashion finesse in our lives, so a recent box of Votre Vu goodies had us jumping for joy (but in a very sophisticated way, of course!). Surprisingly, this time around Lisa went for the eye products and Marcia went for lippies.

Votre Vu Eyeshadow and Eyeliner

Lisa’s Side:

I think the fact that the eyeshadow and eyeliner were both in chocolate shades influenced my choice…I have a difficult time resisting anything chocolate!!

The Beaujolais Eyeshadow Single ($19) is a buttery soft eyeshadow in a beautiful plummy brown shade. It has a tiny bit of golden shimmer, just enough to make this shade different from any other in my collection. I love this as a crease shade because it sheers out beautifully yet also packs on nicely for more drama. Ingredients include vitamin E, jojoba oil and kaolin clay, which make the texture soft and crease-resistant.

Le Jolie Smudge and Set Soft Eyeliner in Chocolat

The Le Jolie Smudge and Set Soft Eyeliner in Chocolat ($23) is a perfect companion to the Beaujolais Eyeshadow Single.

This is a gel pencil that is so soft it almost feels like a liquid liner at first. One end has a sponge blending tip and the soft liner gives lots of play time before setting into a nicely smudge-proof line. The liner comes with a really nice sharpener, although this is a liner for soft lines, not precise ones.

The Chocolat shade is a terrific medium brown – described as a ‘semi sweet chocolate’ – with tons of pigment. It lasts all day on the lid and a decent amount of time on the waterline.

I’m very happy with these Votre Vu eye products and definitely recommend both of them.  Somehow I think they would probably pair perfectly with Marcia’s lip and cheek products….

Marcia’s Side:

Votre Vu Vu-On Rouge for lips and cheeks in Ma Cherry, French Kiss Lipstick in Tatiana, Lip Liner in Spark

Votre Vu Vu-On Rouge for lips and cheeks in Ma Cherry, French Kiss Lipstick in Tatiana, Lip Liner in Spark

We switched places for today’s Side by Side review. I’m always the one who “politely” grabs the eye products out of Lisa’s hands while I say Merci but this time I was intrigued by the lip products as well as the cream blush which is always a favorite of mine. I’ve been using Vu-On Rouge for lips and cheeks in Ma Cherry, French Kiss Lipstick in Tatiana, and Lip Liner in Spark since I think these are great fall shades.

Votre Vu French Kiss Lipstick in Tatiana

Votre Vu French Kiss Lipstick in Tatiana

Votre Vu French Kiss Lipstick in the shade Tatiana ($23) is a beautiful fall color. I’m not used to wearing dark shades especially just coming off summer so I decided to use a lip brush to apply this instead of right from the tube. I’m really glad I did it that way because the lipstick became more of a stain and lasted for a longer time. I love that this isn’t fragranced except for a touch of vanilla mint which surprises me since it’s a French company and they always seem to use a floral fragrance. Tatiana is delightfully described as “A warm and joyful tomato red that’s ideal for your first tryst rouge.” French Kiss Lipsticks are hydrating lipsticks so they are more flattering (on me) than a matte lipstick. Brushing it on though gives a more matte look than applying from the tube.

The perfect companion to a French Kiss lipstick is Votre Vu’s Drawmatic Lip Liners ($21). I have it in Spark which is described as a mid-tone rose. It’s a great shade not only for Tatiana but for so many of the fall and winter lipsticks I’ll use. This is a wind up lipliner so no sharpeners are needed. I love this kind of liner since there’s no waste. This very flattering shade glides on and doesn’t tug at all. I’m sure I’ll use it up to the very last drop.

Last is my very favorite product of this trio – Vu On Rouge in Ma Cherry. This makes me want to sing along with Stevie Wonder. I am a huge fan of cream blush and can’t resist them. Votre Vu has 4 shades of the Vo On Rouge ($29) and I’d happily own all 4. Ma Cherry is a “sweet and classic cherry blue-red hue that becomes every skin tone”. You can see it blended in above but when I swipe it across my cheeks it’s so intense that my fair skin just can’t take it so this is how I apply it…

Votre Vu Vu On Rouge in Ma Cherry

Votre Vu Vu On Rouge in Ma Cherry

I dot it on my face and then blend with my fingers or a sponge. I can add more if I want which I usually do. This way I can build the intensity rather than have to remove some of it. This dries down beautifully and never feels sticky. It’s also a perfect purse blush since no tools are needed. This lasts about 8 hours on me unless I start with a powder blush and then the duo would last for 12 hours. Vu On Rouge can be used on cheeks and lips and they say even eyes. It’s blended with hydrating shea and exotic antioxidant-rich mango seed butters so it not only looks good but it’s good for your skin. I’ve been wearing this several days a week and I know I need Amourette next. Even Stevie Wonder would approve if I had them both and would happily sing “Ma Cherie Amour” to me.

Good to glow! Votre Vu Silk Stockings

It’s still way too hot to wear pantyhose. However, my legs aren’t exactly as perfect looking as they were 20 years ago, so I am always hesitant to go bare. A perfect answer for leg woes was sent to us by Votre Vu, and it has a truly awesome name – Silk Stockings ($34 retail, $24.80 for brand ambassadors).

Votre Vu Silk Stockings

Votre Vu Silk Stockings

Silk Stockings is a glow-tion that takes the place of pantyhose. The lotion is infused with vitamin E and extracts of calendula, linden, chamomile and Saint-John’s-wort, so it’s definitely hydrating and comfortable on. The glow comes from tiny multi-colored shimmers that blur your lines in a way that Robin Thicke would love.

All those gold and blue shimmers give a fabulous glow

All those gold, pink, and blue shimmers give a fabulous glow

It’s not just awesome leg lustre, it’s awesome body lustre. I use it all the time on my arms and decolletage. The bronze shade evens skin tone and covers small imperfections like veins and scars. The effect is slimming and it really looks natural.

After Silk Stockings – a subtle but definite difference

Whenever I use a product like this, I worry about it running down my legs if it gets really hot out and I start to sweat. But I have had no issues with Silk Stockings and it doesn’t transfer onto clothing either.

If you want a little bit of help going bare, I highly recommend Votre Vu Silk Stockings. Put this on and you are good to glow!  – Lisa
