I got Tyra mail! Tyra Beauty Light in a Stick and GET LIPPY Lip Color + Lip Liner Set

Tyra Beauty Tyra Beauty impressed me with the B.I.G. Lash Extension System that I reviewed HERE. Today I am happy to tell you about a few Tyra Beauty products that will set off those gorgeous lashes – Light in a Stick Highlighter ($25) and the Get Lippy Set ($38).                                 samples

Tyra Beauty Light in a StickLight In A Stick is a creamy highlighter that is applied right from the stick. There are two shades available: SINsational City, a pearlescent champagne, and Glow With The Flow, a golden bronze radiance. I tested Glow With the Flow.

What a pretty highlighter! I like the stick and the shape of the rounded end, although I am certain that it will eventually become flat. It goes on super smooth thanks to the ‘TY-Glide Technology’. What is that, you ask?

TY-Glide Technology features a polymeric structure, which releases a uniform ratio of micronized pigments infused with fine oils, which provide a luxurious glide onto the skin, leaving the perfect amount of blendable color and the appearance of a flawless face.

At first, Glow With the Flow looks pretty intense, but it sheers out into a nice glow. I like to use this on my cheekbones and straight down the bridge of my nose, along with darker shading on the sides of my bridge. This is also beautiful on top of lipstick, especially the shades I got in my Get Lippy Set.

Tyra Beauty Get Lippy SetThe Get Lippy Set ($38) includes a coordinating mechanical lip liner, MakeOUT Line, and a Smooch as Silk Lipstick. MakeOUT Line keeps lip color from feathering and is waterproof. The Smooch As Silk lip color has a satin finish, and it is definitely long wearing. Once blotted, it doesn’t transfer and feels very comfortable on.

The color combos available include Hi, Felicia + Hey Girl, HEY, a vivid pink duo; This Ain’t Palm Beach + Plastic Flamingos, a pink coral duo; Retire Your Husband + LOMO, a smoky mauve duo; and Tyra’s Favorite Red + Runway Red, a true red duo.

Hmmm…maybe it’s my particular skin chemistry, but Runway Red and Tyra’s Favorite Red aren’t very red on me. They are more of a deep reddish pink. Regardless, I love the color, especially with the Light in a Stick in Glow With the Flow layered on the center of my lips.

I got Tyra mail! B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extension System

about_bgI have admired Tyra Banks forever and of course watched every season of America’s Next Top Model. I was sooo excited to try her cosmetics line, which is all about beauty (something I strive for), business (cause women are a force to contend with), and badassery (because who doesn’t want to be BAD ASS??).                                                                                                                         pr sample

Tyra Beauty BIG Lashes System

My first review is for Tyra’s B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extension System ($50). Yup, it’s easy now to smize with this lash thickening and extending system. I’ve tried silk extensions before, and while they gave me better lashes, they also gave me some issues with my contact lenses, so I was hoping Tyra’s would be more eyeball friendly.

B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extension System

B.I.G. stands for Beyond Insanely Ginormous. This two-part system includes B.I.G. Lashes Extending Mascara and B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extensions. First, you apply the Silk Extensions from mid-lash upward. This is so important…the silk fibers lengthen lashes, but by avoiding the root of the lashes, silk fibers don’t into the eyes.

B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extension System

After the first silk fiber application, you apply the Extending Mascara from root to ends. This mascara has a thin brush, and the formula thickens and separates lashes. Follow with the Silk Extensions again from mid-lash to top, and then one more coat of the Extending Mascara. Oh yes, lashes are super long, super thick, and just plain super. Plus, NO smudging!!

Tyra Beauty BIG Lashes

B.I.G. Lashes Silk Extensions is an improvement on the silk extensions of old because it has a conditioning primer than fuses the silk fibers to lashes, so there isn’t that fallout. It also doesn’t dry out lashes – in fact, it has conditioning ingredients that improve lash health.

I am definitely impressed with the Tyra Beauty Big Lash Silk Extension System.  If you want big, thick, fat lashes that are about as long as you can get them, be sure to try this out.  – Lisa

It’s my birthday and I’ll SMIZE if I want to

It isn’t often that someone can add a word to our lexicon. It’s even less often that the word is associated with one person and one person only. Others may try to make a word their own (kontouring, twerking, on fleek) but only Tyra Banks owns the word SMIZE. Even better is that she’s created a special eye shadow palette through her company, Tyra Beauty, named Smoky Smize Palette. Actually there is one thing better than all of this, that I was sent one to test and fall in love with.

Smoky Smize from Tyra Beauty

The SMOKY SMIZE EYESHADOW PALETTE is unique just like its creator. It contains 4 shades that you need to create the perfect smoky eye and a brush that is one you’ll fall for.

This palette even teaches you what to use where! The Highlight shade is named Light ‘Em Up, the two All Over shades are Blaze and Exhale, and the Drama shade is Smolder. Your eyes will definitely light things up and smolder with this great palette.

Smize shades: Light Em Up, Blaze, Exhale, Smolder

Smize shades: Light
Em Up, Blaze, Exhale, Smolder

Light ‘Em Up is a true highlighter shade. I’ve tried wearing it all over but it’s a little too bright for that yet it’s perfect on my browbone. It’s a luminous cream shade.

Blaze has a slight khaki tint which moves it out of the realm of the typical neutral palette.

Exhale is a great brown taupe that I love to wear in the crease with other shadows too.

Smolder is black but it’s not super black, it’s more of a smoky browned black so it’s not as harsh as a typical dark shade.

The important thing to know is that none of these are shimmers or glitters so they are perfect for someone who wants a (birthday) look that is in style yet age appropriate. Light ‘Em Up is more luminous than the others but there’s not a drop of glitter. The shadows apply beautifully and, with an eyeshadow primer, last and last. I’ve worn this both day and night and have loved the looks I’ve been able to create.

Tyra Beauty See Your Smize brush

Tyra Beauty See Your Smize brush

The brush that comes in the palette, See Your Smize, is as creative as Tyra is. It’s bent about 2/3rds up to help you generate an easy look with the colors. At first I thought I’d have trouble with the brush even though the bristles on it are firm yet soft. But as a leftie I was worried that the bend wasn’t great for me. Wrong! I just needed to play with it a little before I became a champ at using this. I’m very impressed with the brush, both the quality and usability. It’s not often that a brush in a palette is so great. While you can use a different brush with this, why would you? This one is an added bonus.

I’m not done with bonuses because Tyra isn’t done with them either. A a portion of the proceeds from each Smoky Smize Palette will go towards the truth® campaign partnership to inspire tobacco-free lives – “Smoke your eyes, not cigarettes”.

Smoky Smize will be my birthday eye look and I couldn’t be happier. As Tyra says on the package “Notice: This smoky eyeshadow palette is habit forming.” What a great habit.  — Marcia
