Think Pink with Osmosis Blush in Pink Pearl

Think Pink

A new year and it’s back to Think Pink. I get so excited when I find a pink cosmetic product to share with you and today I have one that I just can’t get enough of: OSMOSIS COLOUR BLUSH in PINK PEARL. I haven’t stopped wearing this blush since I was lucky enough to receive it to test out. I don’t generally lean toward powder blush but Osmosis has changed my mind.

When I look at my pictures of this blush I see some peach to it but on my cheeks it’s the perfect pink. With some blushes I have to worry about the intensity of the color that will end up on my cheeks but that’s not the case with this Osmosis Colour Blush. It glides on giving me the perfect dusting of blush the first time. I can build upon it if I want but I don’t have the dreaded fear of blush overdose.

Osmosis Colour uses mineral pigments that are safe for you. This blush gives me a natural luminous appearance. It contains green tea extract to neutralize free radicals and moringa seed oil which hydrates and nourishes. Also Vitamins A and C to boost firmness and elasticity.

Pink Pearl is described as a soft pink. It’s silky soft and lasts a full 8 hours without fading. It’s not the least bit chalky nor is it difficult to blend. The shade is a warm pink so it’s not going to make people turn their heads to see if you stuck bubble gum on your face. It’s soft and enhances my features.

The blush comes in 5 shades: Nude Bliss (nude-mauve), Summer Rose (berry pink; looks gorgeous!!), Spring Crush (soft coral), Pink Pearl and Plum Blossom (soft purple tones with satin finish). Right now on Dermstore these $27 blushes comes with an Osmosis Concealer (a $33 value). There are 4 other shades available but I haven’t found them.

Think Pink with Sleek Barekissed Illuminator

Think pink

Think pink

As a pink lover I adore finding new pink items to share for my “Think Pink” posts. Sleek MakeUP added to my pink collection with their Barekissed Illuminator in Casablanca. As you know everything lately has taken a turn to illumination and highlighting so the timing of this beauty is perfect.

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator

Sleek Barekissed Illuminator

Barekissed Illuminators ($13.49) come in a glass pump that is enough to last me for ages (30 mL, 1.014 fl oz.) and are available in 4 shades. With Casablanca it’s like they came into my house to check out my favorite colors since this radiant pink is perfect. Other shades are Cuba which appears to be the peach version of mine, Monaco a luminous cream, and Pompeii a bronze.

The Barekissed Illuminators are meant to enhance your complexion. They contain light reflecting pigments that give a lustrous shine without a drop of glitter or shimmer. I’ve used it in four ways so far.

1. Directly on my cheeks as a blush under my blush. I’ll dab this on with my fingers where I want my blush to be. Then once it’s dried down I’ll put a powder or cream blush over it. I love it this way when I’m thinking pink since it makes any blush last and last.

2. I’ll mix some in with my foundation for an all over brightening. This works especially well for me with some of my warmer shades. I don’t notice the pink but I do notice how much more alive my skin looks.

3.  Put this wherever you’d apply a highlighter to brighten your skin. It’s great on top of my cheekbones, a little down the bridge of my nose, and just above my eyebrows. I always make sure to blend well so it’s not obvious, just a hint of color for that great luminosity.

4.  After applying an eyeshadow primer, I’ll dab a drop of Sleek Barekissed Illuminator in Casablanca on top. I usually keep it on my browbone where it adds a whisper of pink in a secret way. No one would guess that’s what makes my eyes glisten just a bit.

These Illuminators are a great alternative to powder highlighters because they give you the same effect without any powder or powdery residue. As I mentioned they aren’t glittery or shimmery so even those of us with large pores can use these with ease. It’s not portable like a powder highlighter would be but I’m okay with that because I rarely touch up anything other than my lips when I’m out.

Now that Sleek sells to us in the U.S. there’s just so much to love. Shipping is also free with a $35 order and it’s so easy to find $35 worth of amazing products to buy from them. You also get a 10% off code when you sign up for their emails making it that much more affordable.

Sleek MakeUP is making some of my dreams come true with their fabulous and affordable products. What shade would you choose for your Barekissed Illuminator? — Marcia

Think Pink with Korres Mandarin Lip Butter

Think pink

Think pink

As soon as I received Korres’ new Mandarin Lip Butter Stick I started to “think pink”. Actually I’m thinking very light pink for this one. Korres has been known for their Lip Butter for quite a while and people love them BUT they come in a pot which isn’t always to everyone’s liking. Now though there’s a lip butter available using their hydrating and softening lip ingredients in stick form and it’s so easy to use.

Four colors plus untinted are ready to conquer chapped lips and keep them away. The Mandarin Lip Butter Sticks are available in Rose, Purple (berry tint), Pink and Peach. The tint is very light on the Pink and I’m sure the Peach too. It gives my lips just the tiniest hint of color but it feels so good!

Let’s talk about these great ingredients:

*Mandarin Oil refreshes and soothes dry lips, especially chapped lips

*Shea Butter and Sunflower Wax deeply nourish your lips for long lasting comfort.

*Vitamin E is for healing and known for its advanced antioxidant properties

*There are no Silicones, Parabens, Propylene Glycol, Phthalates,  and these aren’t tested on animals

At first I was going to call this a warm pink but the tint is actually too sheer to give my lips much color. It enhances my natural lip color so it’s perfect for wearing when I don’t want to wear lipstick. I’m healing my lips at all times when I wear this.

For me this is a great alternative to a regular lip balm. There is no fragrance or taste which is perfect for me personally. Korres Mandarin Lip Butter Stick isn’t sticky which equals happiness in my book. Each of the 5 Lip Butter Sticks have their own great packaging. My pink tube has found a permanent home in my cosmetic bag and brings a “smize” when I open and use it. If you are looking for softer lips and sheer color then Korres should be in your future. — Marcia

Think Pink with Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush

Think pink

Think pink

The hardest thing about Stila’s Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush is picking a color you want to buy. Everything else is super easy since it’s a cinch to use and wear.

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush in Water Lily

There are 5 shades available and the online swatches all looked beautiful so I took a stab in the dark and picked Water Lily since it looked fresh and vibrant.

This Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush is totally different than any blush product I own because it really is watery. The formula says it’s a water based gel but I find it more watery than gel-like. It’s packaged in a small jar with a mesh top. You need to shake it very well and then be careful with the amount of product you use.

It feels like nothing when you apply it yet you will feel a slight cooling effect. This is a sheer blush that you can build up but my advice is to start with a very small amount, dab it on your cheek where you typically use blush. Then do the other cheek. Now stand back and check your face. If it’s not enough then go back and build it up but not too much.

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush in Water Lily

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush in Water Lily

Water Lily is a warm pink shade (although beauty.com calls it a rose pink) that goes on sheer but lasts well throughout the day. I’d say I get about 6 – 8 hours wear before needing to refresh it. It’s a great blush if you have “Disappearing Blush Problem” aka DBP. People who are affected by DBP find their blush vanishes easily. But using this Stila Aqua Glow as a base and then following up with a powder is the answer to longer lasting blush. While this is not a medically proven problem, it really does happen to too many people. I’m working on a foundation to study this phenomenon (not).

I’m not sure if I’ll buy another shade of this or not but I am attracted to the coolness of Water Blossom described as Pink Violet.

Think Pink with Sleek Creme to Powder Blush

Think pink

Think pink

When I think pink I’m usually thinking blush or lip products. I do love a light pink eyeshadow though and hope to share one with you in this series. But today I have a blush from SLEEK MakeUP that pushes all the right buttons for me.

Sleek MakeUP Creme to Powder Blush

First button: Crème to Powder Blush! I love creme/cream blushes more than the average bear. If you give me a choice between cream and powder I’m going to pick cream.

Second button: Crème to Powder Blush again. I usually don’t believe companies when they call their cream blushes “cream to powder” but this Sleek MakeUP blush is actually what it says it is. The blush starts off as a cream with an intense shot of color but blends down to a light powdery effect. It’s dewy upon application but becomes a powder soon after blending.

Third button: this isn’t greasy or moist. It’s a dry cream yet it blends without a problem. With some creme blushes your finger can practically sink down getting lost in the cream. But Sleek’s version is on the firm side while still easy to apply. There’s no problem getting the pigment onto your finger (which I use) or brush.

Fourth button is the price which is only $8.99 US. Even though Sleek MakeUP is a UK company, the prices are in US dollars and they ship quickly. Shipping is also free with a $35 order (I’ll have more reviews of Sleek MakeUP coming so it will be easy to find $35 worth of gorgeousness).

Fifth button is the color. While Sleek’s official swatch isn’t what I’ve found, I love how this looks on me. When I first apply it the color is as bright as my hand shows but then I blend with my finger and I end up with a bright yet subtle long lasting blush. I mostly wear neutral eyeshadows with lots of golds, browns, taupes and creams so you’d think I’d want a warmer blush – but I love the coolness of a pink blush on me. Sleek Crème to Powder blush is available in 6 shades (French Rose, Amaryllis, Gerbera, Carnation, Pink Peony and Crimson).

Sixth button is the ease of use. It’s recommended that you use your finger with this blush and that’s the way I use it. I blend with my finger or a sponge after. I try not to start with too much on my finger but if I do, it’s easy to blend down without starting over.

6 buttons + 6 shades + 1 reasonable price = a baker’s dozen of reasons you’ll like this as much as I do! — Marcia

Think Pink with Too Faced Love Flush blush

Think pink

Think pink

This week’s Think Pink post is about how I like to blush – which is pink. I prefer pink blushes with my fair skin and cool undertones. I tried really hard to talk myself out of buying a Too Faced Love Flush Long Lasting blush ($26) but I finally caved because of the packaging. I did not need another blush. I have enough blush for everyone in my subdivision and beyond. But the packaging is a HEART and there’s not much I like more than hearts.

Isn’t this the cutest? A pink heart. I do know that it’s what’s inside that counts though and that is just as cute as the outside.

The heart and bunnies of Justify My Love are a bright cool toned pink with very fine gold shimmer. The shimmer just adds some dimension for me. Even with my large pores I don’t find that it sticks around. There are 6 shades in the Love Flush collection and I’m pretty sure they are limited edition.

I really had no plan to buy this when I bought the Too Faced Love Palette ($49). I was sure that would satisfy my craving for the hearts. But I started reading reviews and before you knew it I “needed” the blush. I’m much happier with this too than I am with the palette which can be too shimmery for me.
