A tarte TSV on QVC is reason to celebrate. The products are unique and most are limited edition, the quality is superb, and the price is always good. I’m sure that you’ll be as thrilled opening your collection as I was when sent this.
Tarte is known for using pioneer skinvigorating ingredients that come straight from the Amazon. This cruelty-free company has some of the best products available. But you need to hurry because this is a one day special. Today February the 13th won’t be a bad luck day if you decide to get this!
1. MARACUJA MIRACLE FOUNDATION is both a foundation and a concealer. This is a new product from tarte that is very hydrating. It’s available in 6 shades (fair, light, light-medium, medium, tan and deep). The foundation is infused with maracuja oil for a firmer, brighter and smoother appearance. I’m crazy about my maracuja items like the concealer so this is a great edition to the line and my life.
The foundation has a dropper inside for easy access. Shake the bottle first and put a few drops on your face. Then blend with the brush included. It’s not a thick foundation yet it will give you great buildable coverage. I have it in Light which is a little on the yellow side so I’ll have to buy this in Fair which I know will be perfect. I know they call this a foundcealer but I don’t find it enough coverage for concealer. It looks great as a foundation though.
2. MARACUJA MIRACLE FOUNDATION BRUSH is a great brush for this foundation and for your cosmetic life. All tarte brushes are cruelty free, soft and do their job perfectly. I won’t tell anyone you are using it with every foundation you own if you won’t!
3) LIMITED EDITION AMAZONIAN CLAY EYE & CHEEK PALETTE is absolutely beautiful. Not only does this beautiful palette contain 6 new eyeshadow shades but it also contains a very flattering blush. This is by far my favorite piece in the collection. I’m an eyeshadow fanatic and these are such gorgeous colors that they are worth my fanaticism.
The eyeshadow colors apply beautifully and the wear is long lasting. I was trying to pick a favorite side but it’s impossible with shades like this.
Pink Beyond is a very soft pink matte shadow that I use as a brow highlight. It’s beautiful too if you want a light shadow look to use it as a lid shade. Taupe for the Best is a dreamy shimmering steel taupe. The shimmer is soft and the color will knock your socks off. Dreams Plum True is a matte purple that applies like a satin. It’s dark enough to be used to line but I love it on the outer corner of my eye.
Out of this Palette is a pearly golden ivory that is fabulous on. It has a beautiful sheen that I just love. Thistle be the Day is described as a plush matte greige. I see taupe and I love taupe shadows. Paint the Brown is a matte chocolate brown that will make the perfect lining shade or crease shade for anything in this palette.
The blush in the palette is a full size tarte Amazonian clay shade in Talented, a color limited to this TSV palette. It’s a peachy coral though I find there’s a good amount of pink in it too. Beautiful color that works well with all the eyeshadow shades.
4) The double ended eyeshadow brush has a crease/blending end and a lay down side.
5) LipSurgence Liquid Lip Shine in Exquisite is a limited edition shade that has a great texture to it. It’s sheer yet imbues enough color on its own that you don’t need another lipstick unless you want it of course. LipSurgence Liquid Lip Shine are very hydrating and not too sticky.
6) Gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara in limited edition packaging is a gem. I’ve always liked tarte mascaras and this is no exception. Gifted mascara is available for $20 on the tarte website but not with this great packaging. According to tarte
- Amazonian clay: balances, nourishes, hydrates, replenishes and repairs to promote healthy, more voluminous lashes and while preventing lash loss
- Rice wax: natural wax that helps lengthen lashes
All 6 of these great products come in a limited edition travel makeup bag. The value of these products is $182 if you bought them separately but tarte has this for $59.96 on QVC on Friday, February 13th only. The number of the set is A261420. Or you can buy it on auto delivery with the number . I advice you to act quickly. The last time I showed a TSV it sold out early. Don’t be the one to regret holding off. — Marcia

If you are a tarte lover, get ready – the Sweet Indulgence 3-in-1 Holiday Gift Set ($59.94) is on sale for one day only at QVC, November 10th. Set yourself a reminder so you can order this fabulous limited edition set. This is a ‘one for you, one for me’ holiday set for sure – or you can also break up the set and make it three separate gifts. The BIZ was sent a sneak peek so we could give you the low down before the sale. Two removable eyeshadow palettes house 16 different eyeshadows, plus the set includes two brand new blush shades, two lip creams, one lip gloss, three LE eyeliners, and 2 full size mascaras.
For so many products, this is a very tight little box that doesn’t take up much room. There are three separate ‘books’ housed inside the light purple with gold floral box.
The first book is all about eyes. The eyeliner shades are plum, charcoal, and bronze. These are basic pencil eyeliners that work best on the upper lid – they do smudge when I wear them on my lower lash line. Out of the three shades the bronze shade is the standout. Also included are two full-sized lights, camera, LASHES mascara, one of my favorite go-to mascaras.
The second book is all about lips and cheeks. There are two new Amazonian clay 12-hour blush shades – hooray! I adore this blush and new shades are always so much fun. The first is savored, a golden rose; the second is pampered, a soft melon.
There is one LE LipSurgence lip gloss in the shade indulging, which is a raspberry pink. This is a sticky but longer wearing lip gloss, and the color is very pretty. Plus there are two LipSurgence lip cremes: wonder, a poppy pink, and rare, a peachy nude. The Lip Cremes are self-sharpening and have a slightly minty taste. True to their name they are very creamy when first applied and they eventually dry down to a stain that lasts for hours on me.
The third book has two removable palettes with 8 eyeshadows each.
The first palette shades:
pinky promise (pink mauve), taupe of the world (deep taupe), you look mauveless (mauve plum), just malt away (creamy malt)
pampered pink (light pink), dare to be gold (gold), show plum love (rich plum), wind down brown (rich brown)
The second palette shades:
vanilla candles (soft beige), coming up roses (plum rose), hazelnut bon bons (medium brown), champagne bubble bath (shimmering pink)
bronze cuff (golden hazel), feeling grey-t (pebble grey), espresso yourself (espresso), cinnamon latte (shimmering cinnamon)
This is a great set to buy for any cosmetics lover. The only items that I could do without are the eye pencils, but if you have dry skin they will probably work well for you. A great thing about tarte is their shades are more on the neutral side, so you really can’t go wrong with these as gifts. Take advantage of the TSV sale on November 10th…I have a feeling this holiday special set is not going to last for long. You can buy it right here: http://qvc.co/tarte-

I’m guessing that we all love surprises although there are a variety of surprises we could have in our life. Some aren’t so great (falling and being out of commission for months) and some are wonderful (finding about a new baby or marriage) while others are surprises that come because we want them. Glossybox sent their latest surprise box and this qualifies to be in my third category – surprises because we /want them.
October’s Glossybox is a welcome surprise for me and added some needed fun to my life. While I haven’t had a chance to use them all, I think this box is loaded with products that are going to be well loved for me.
I was especially thrilled when I opened the pink box to see some familiar packaging – TARTE! One of my favorite brands and definitely one of my favorite products: POWER PIGMENT in Flush. I’ve raved constantly about these lip crayons so it’s no surprise to hear me rave again. Flush is a sheer berry hue that will suit most complexions. This is a matte lip but it doesn’t feel or look that matte to me. I find the Power Pigments to be comfortable on my lips. They are easy to use, easy to wear, and beautiful. With Flush you can create a stained effect by just dabbing it with your finger. If you don’t have any of these Tarte Lip Crayons or don’t have Flush then this $24 pays for the cost of the box. The rest is just gravy!
The next product I pulled out of the box is from NAILS INC. I have always enjoyed the polishes that I’ve bought from Nails Inc. and this is new to me: Westminster Bridge Matte Top Coat ($10). What’s great about owning a matte top coat is that you can get double wear out of your polishes. Do your manicure with a glossy top coat, wear it a few days, then apply this matte top coat and change up your look in an instant. Another thing I’ve been seeing a lot is people that apply the matte polish/top coat on their full nail and then doing a “french” tip in a shiny top coat.
You can’t miss the biggest product in the box PROGANIX VOLUME ROOT BOOST FINISH + BODY BUILDER ($11.99, 5.1 FL OZ). Proganix has gone through some name changes in the last year so you might be more familiar with their original name of Organix. Same great line, just a new name. The Volume Root Boost is to help give you not just bigger hair but it adds volume and body. It contains soy protein and caffeine to walk up your style. It’s a great shine booster too.
Next is pampering time and boy do I need that. SESHA BOTANICAL HYDRO MASK ($9 each) is a full sheet facial mask that is great for calming down your skin. It contains cucumber, green tea and marigold which are known for anti-inflammatory benefits. Give yourself 15-30 minutes of relaxation with this mask on and you’ll be glowing after.
For all you fragrance lovers out there Glossybox has included one of the prettiest minis I’ve seen in a long time. The fragrance is VINCE CAMUTO AMORE EAU DE PARFUM and this is a limited edition. According to Glossybox this stars “ephemeral scent of fresh-cut flowers and fragrant fruits atop a base of comforting cashmere, rich amber and earthy sandalwood”. The fragrance is a sensual one. The mini bottle is a beautiful addition to your fragrance wardrobe.
Lately Glossybox has been adding in some bonuses and this month is no different. My box contained a $40 gift car to HELLO FRESH which is a food service. You go to their website at hellofresh.com, pick out recipes you want to try from their weekly menus, and order the pre-measured ingredients to create the recipe fresh at home. They deliver nationwide and have veggie boxes as well as ones with meat products. It’s an interesting concept and a nice way to try it out for free.
This October Glossybox is still available as of this writing and it’s a great deal. You pay $21 per month and get all these goodies along with free shipping. Right now they have a bonus for new subscribers, Glamglow Tinglexfoliat Treatment Deluxe sample with the code GLAM. Order this box ($60 value, for $21) at Glossybox.com. — Marcia

Many lines come out with holiday sets, but I think I look forward to tarte’s more than any other. I have beautiful sets from years ago that I still use…they definitely stand the test of time. Tarte recently sent us the away oui go portable palette and collector’s set ($48, a $410 value) and it does not disappoint!
Away oui go is a limited edition set that is an Ulta exclusive. It’s one of the sets available in the new Sweet Dreams Holiday Collection. It includes:
- four removable eye and cheek palettes with a total of 16 full-sized Amazonian Clay eye shadows and four full-sized Amazonian Clay 12-Hour blushes
- three deluxe sized Maracuja lip glosses
- a deluxe lights, camera, lashes mascara
- teal fabric stitched with pearls collector’s compact that holds the removable palettes
The lights, camera, lashes mascara is a staple for me. It gives great volume and length and doesn’t smudge. I love it. The lip glosses come in three shades: Nice, a creme mauve; Cannes, a shimmery pink; and Paris, a creme raspberry.
They are typical tarte lip glosses that are just slightly sticky and nicely glossy, although the applicator is different. The brush is beyond stiff – it’s frozen. I’ve had other lip glosses with a brush that started off that way, but if you bent it the bristles released. These don’t. It’s interesting, and I am not sure if I am a fan or not.
I adore the compact. It’s very vintage looking and the palettes fit in it just perfectly. It also has a nice mirror inside, so this really is a great item for travel. I am actually storing the box the set comes in and leaving the palette on my vanity, switching the palettes out every few days.
The eyeshadows are all beautiful, with a great selection of shades and variety of finishes in each palette. I think my favorite palette is the one with the intrigue blush. I have always adored tarte blushes, so four eyeshadows and a full-sized blush makes my knees weak.
Eyeshadows: macarons for you is a matte light pinky- brown; champagne & chocolat is a shimmery champagne brown; kisses under the Arc is a shimmery copper/pink; art in Montmartre is a bronze shimmer. Blush: envisioned is a shimmery light peach.
Eyeshadows: private chateau is a matte vanilla, café for crème brûlée is a matte golden brown, tea for two is a warm shimmery brown, marvel at the Mona Lisa is a matte chocolate-brown. Blush: irresistible is a matte light pink.
Eyeshadows: snow Angels in the parc is a light shimmery gold, navigating the Metro is a medium shimmery taupe, midnight stroll is a dark plum with a tiny bit of shimmer, liaison at the Louvre is a matte deep reddish-brown. Blush: intrigue is a medium matte pink.
Eyeshadows: Champs-Élysées shopping is a matte clay, stargazing on the Seine is a shimmery light golden brown, Eiffel Tower engagement is a matte greige, secret soiree is a dark shimmery plum. Blush: limitless is a shimmery medium peachy-pink.
By the way, did you notice that sells for $48, but it’s a $410 value? My prediction is these won’t last long. Get to Ulta and get one for yourself and one for a holiday gift. It is totally worth it. – Lisa

Today I have the rest of the items tarte sent us. I love that the packaging features snake skin, because these products are as adaptable as a snake shedding its skin.best in faux lash extending fibers ($19) is very interesting. The fibers are black, not white, so it almost seems like putting on two different types of mascara. Start with the tube of lights, camera, lashes mascara to prep lashes for grabbing onto the fibers, follow with the best in faux fiber wand, then finish with another coat of mascara.
Typically I have big problems with fiber lash enhancers – the fibers bother my eyes and make them very uncomfortable. But this system works fantastically for me – big huge lashes that wear perfect through the day with no fallout!
I am totally digging the limited-edition Amazonian clay dual eyeliner ($24). Holy smokes this is good stuff.
The dual eyeliner comes in a large glass jar with two shades of gel eyeliner. I have the brown/black duo. The brown is not a flat brown, it’s more of a shimmery bronze. This is a super creamy, easy to apply gel liner that has a little play time before drying down to a smudge-free line that just doesn’t budge. I love using the black on the top lash line and the brown on the bottom lash line. This dual liner also comes in a green/black duo and a plum/black duo, and I am most definitely buying both of them.
The colored clay tinted brow gel ($21) was a surprise to me. I am so used to larger, mascara-sized brushes for brow gels that this tiny little brush took me aback at first.
The tiny little brush packs a big punch. I absolutely adore what it does for my brows…they look polished and perfect with just one swipe. This is a seriously great brow gel that fills in brows and keeps them in place all day. And the tiny brush is a stroke of genius – the larger ones always leave extra gel that I have to wipe off, so my on-the-thin-side brows love this.
I can’t have a complete eye look without curling my lashes – mine are stick straight without the help. The be charmed limited edition picture perfect eyelash curler ($19) is a great option that isn’t too small for larger eyes. Plus, this one includes a removable snake charm and a deluxe size lights, camera, flashes mascara.
Lots of eyelash curlers are too small for my eyes, but the be charmed eyelash curler works with room to spare. It gives major curl that doesn’t droop by the end of the day. Take the cool snake charm off and put it on your purse or keychain – snakes are a symbol of spiritual guidance and personal growth, so it’s a perfect reminder that you are on the right path!
That’s a lot of items for eyes…for lips, the tarte Fall 2014 collection features a new LipSurgence lip gloss ($19) shade, Envy.
envy is a matte yet shiny mauve berry shade. It’s a natural shade that gives lips a little ‘oomph’ of color plus a lot of glossy shine. It keeps my lips looking and feeling moist and lush. Love it.
Overall, the tarte cosmetics Fall 2014 collection is pretty darn fabulous. The biggest surprises for me were the dual eyeliner and the colored clay brow gel. I think my favorite items are the best in faux lash fibers and the be charmed eyelash curler…although there isn’t a clunker in the bunch. tarte has definitely outdone themselves with this collection. Thumbs up! – Lisa
