As an esthetician, skincare business owner, loving mother and devoted wife, I can tell you: I know a lot about Anti-Aging. Growing up in the beauty industry and being, well, human, has allowed me to learn so much about aging, and the skincare products and practices that can help to slow down and prevent it! So, without further ado, I’m going to share with you 5 essential anti-aging tips that you might be missing out on, and the ways you can (and should) incorporate them into your current skincare routine.
Anti-Aging Essential #1: Wear SPF each & every day. Seeing an increase in SPF use over the past few years has been genuinely exciting for me and with good reason. In addition to causing skin cancer, UV rays are also one of the leading causes of skin aging, which lends only more motivation to shield our skin from the sun with a fabulous, SPF-infused product. If you have avoided wearing SPF because you don’t like the way it feels, hear me out: there are so many options and I can promise you that there is a product out there that you will not only “be able to use” but will actually love. Finding the right sunscreen can often be a matter of trial and error but going through that process to find something that you truly love is definitely worth it. Your skin will thank you.
Anti-Aging Essential #2: Look to your Cleanser. I am constantly stressing this over on my blog because it is a seriously discounted essential. Cleansing your face properly on a daily basis is the only way to rid your skin of dirt, oil, makeup, and more; it helps prep your skin to absorb your post cleanser skincare products (which are also essential, by the way). I recommending cleansing once in the morning, and twice at night for optimal results. Pro-Tip: there are many anti-aging cleansing formulas out there that will deliver fabulous ingredients to your skin while clearing out your pores!
Anti-Aging Essential #3: Don’t Forget Your Chest & Neck: I know so many women you have done a beautiful job of taking care of their face, only to feel disappointed about the skin on their neck and chest. You can prevent this by extending your skincare products and SPF down to these areas, or you can get a little assistance with products that were designed specifically for you neck and chest. Staying Hydrated is essential for keeping your skin full, supple, and soft. If a healthy internal system was not motivation enough, putting these practices into play can help you look and feel better on the outside as well! An Important Tip: Do not get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. It often takes weeks to start seeing results but, as they say, the best things are worth the wait.
