One of the reasons I’ve reviewed a lot of BB and CC Creams is that I really like how they look on my skin. I’ve found quite a few favorites that work for me year round. At first I felt they were just my summer foundation choices but for the last year I found that wearing them year round works just as well. My latest favorite is Pur Minerals CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40. I was thrilled when I received this to test and I’ve been wearing it regularly ever since. I wrote about it in the November Makeup Wars Five Minute Face article but now it’s time to give you the full scoop!!
CC Creams are supposed to be color correctors in addition to having the characteristics of a BB Cream. Pur Minerals CC Cream has it all.
- Broad Spectrum Sunscreen with an SPF of 40
- Anti-aging moisturizing
- Color correcting
- Silicone free
- Paraben free
Pur Minerals CC Cream has a light almost mousse-like consistency. It has more pigment to it than most products in this category and the coverage makes me feel as if I’m wearing a true foundation. The pump tube is great for me since I can pump out just enough for one side of my face at a time. I never get too much oozing out.
Some of the ingredients are unique to this product like DERMAPUR® HP—a clarifying corrective from meadowsweet—and CLARISKIN II®—a brightening powerhouse from wheat germ. These are both clinically advanced plant-based ingredients.
It comes in 4 shades: light, medium, tan, dark. My skin is pretty easy going when it comes to adapting to light shades. I normally choose the lightest color in a collection and the Light is a good match for me. I think the fairest of the fair would have trouble with this shade though. From what I’ve been reading customers think the shades run a little dark. In the summer I found I didn’t usually need a moisturizer prior to wearing this but now that it’s colder and windier I start with a serum and moisturizer. It seems to glide on easier and I use less product this way. But if I’m in a hurry, I just apply this CC cream and I’m ready to go.
Pur Minerals can be found at Dermstore, Ulta, Skinstore and now Kohl’s is carrying the brand. I love that I’m getting great coverage, SPF40, primer, moisturizer all while helping to brighten and conceal. This has become a staple for my 5 minute face as well as on the days I can take the time and do anything I want. Have you tried any CC Creams yet? If you try the Pur Minerals CC Cream you might never step away from it. — Marcia
