Pur Minerals gives twice the pleasure with Double Ego eyeliners and a giveaway

PUR Minerals Double Ego Dual Ended Eyeliners

PUR Minerals Double Ego Dual Ended Eyeliners

Double your pleasure with double sided eyeliners from PUR Minerals! I’m one who is more than doubling my pleasure with Pür Minerals’ 2-in-1 Double Ego Dual Ended Eye Liner since I’ve been using them all the time ever since I received these. I never go without eyeliner, never! Therefore having 8 pen/pencils and 16 colors makes for one happy blogger.

Pür Minerals Double Ego liners are available at ULTA and Ulta.com for $21 each. Like I said there are eight beautiful shades and those shades can be mixed and matched plus you can use them to create other shades. It’s like having 24 shades if I played my cards right.

Pur Minerals Double Ego liners

Pur Minerals Double Ego liners

The available shades will take you on a journey to the far reaches of the world: Milan (inky black), Tasmania (dark chocolate), Madagascar (black gold), Bora Bora (royal blue), Swiss Alps (cool pewter), Rio de Janeiro (deep plum), Bali (emerald green), and Queensland (aquatic teal).

If you notice though I’ve only shown you 6 shades since these are the ones I’m using. I’ve got 3 shades I haven’t tested for a giveaway for one of you. I received 2 Bora Boras so one is in this giveaway, we’re also giving away Milan (black) and Bali (emerald green) so keep reading.

These liners are so much fun. I’m a huge fan of liquid liner so of course I use that the most but I find that liquids don’t always last that well on my bottom lashline since I do get a little teary at times. That’s where the very smooth retractable eyeliner pencils come in. I can coordinate with the opposite side and have a similar shade on top and bottom. Or I can use them both and create a unique shade.

Pur Minerals Double Ego in Bora Bora

Pur Minerals Double Ego in Bora Bora

While Pür Minerals Bora Bora appears to be a royal blue it’s got a teal touch so I wouldn’t really call it royal like Ulta does. Just wearing the liquid liner on my top lashline I do see royal but the pencil has more color and interest to it. Combine and you get a tricked out royal teal.

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Tasmania

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Tasmania

Pür Minerals Tasmania is my most used liquid liner from this group. I love a chocolate brown liquid and wear this often. I used to struggle with finding the right shade of brown since some can be too black and some can be too red. The liquid is a true brown whereas the pencil does have an undertone that’s got some redness to it. When I wear them together though I have the perfect shade.

Pür Minerals Double Ego Madagascar

Pür Minerals Double Ego Madagascar

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Madagascar is described as black gold by Pur and Ulta but I see a lot of green to it so a lot depends on the light and what you are wearing with this liner. You can bring out the green but you can also bring out the gold.

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Rio de Janeiro

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Rio de Janeiro

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Rio de Janeiro takes me on a trip I want to be on. This gorgeous purple is a liquid liner shade I’ve been missing in my collection. The liquid side is definitely purple while the pencil side is more of a black plum. When mixed together they are magnificent.

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Swiss Alps

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Swiss Alps

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Swiss Alps is one of my very favorite because of the three types of shades I can get with this. The liquid side is black but not a jet black, the pencil is an easy to wear pewtered charcoal and together they are magic and appear to be a darkened pewter that glows.

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Queensland and Bali

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Queensland and Bali

Pür Minerals Double Ego in Queensland and Bali appear very similar to me even though the descriptions are different. I played eeny meeny to pick the one that I’d keep and that turned out to be Queensland which is a beautiful teal. Bali is described as emerald green but when you look at my picture with both open I think you’ll agree that it’s a teal version of green. Although only the winner will know that since my swatches are of Queensland.

These Pür Minerals eyeliners are going to do whatever you want them to do from a daytime or easy evening look, to a cat’s eye with a swoosh of the liquid liner to a dramatic eye. I do have two warnings though about these. First is that the dry side is a mineral eyeliner and it is very soft so don’t open it too far out and don’t overdo the pressure when using it or the tip will break. Of course you can always click up more but you don’t want to waste the eyeliner. Second is that you need a true eye makeup remover for these Double Ego liners. The colors are intense and some of the shades can stain. I find that a makeup remover for waterproof eye makeup works the best. I soak my cotton pad with the remover and hold it on my eye without rubbing to soften the liner, making it easier to remove. If it looks like it’s still there, just wait until you wash up in the morning and you’ll see that it’s faded away.

I found these great eyeliners at both Ulta.com and Kohls.com and I’m pretty sure they are in the stores too. For $21 you’ll have a trio of great looks. — Marcia

Pur Minerals Cheek Stains – soft, cool and lovable

pur minerals stick blushes

Have you ever seen anything so cute? When I saw these Pur Minerals Cabernet Cheek Stains I couldn’t help but crave them and happily I was sent two to try out. In my world cream blushes rule and I already knew that Pur Minerals knew what to do with them when I wear the two Chateau Cream Blushes that I have.

Pur Minerals Cabernet Cheek Stains

Pur Minerals Cabernet Cheek Stains

What makes these unique is that these blush tints have an attached brush on the opposite end. It makes it so handy for travel purposes. I had these in my cosmetic bag the entire holiday weekend since I was on the go more than usual. Not only are the colors beautiful but the brush makes them apply easier than ever. The brush is soft and feels lush on your cheeks. You’ll want to use it with other blushes too.

Pur Minerals Cheek Stain in Peach Bellini and Rose'

Pur Minerals Cheek Stain in Peach Bellini and Rose’

The Cheek Stains are described by Pur Minerals as “Blush Tint and Brush Duo” ($26). I think that’s a better description than stain. The sticks go on with a refreshing coolness that is irresistible. I love the way they feel upon application. The colors aren’t as intense as I’d expect from something called a stain. Instead they are easy to wear shades that look so pretty once applied.

There are 4 shades available: Prosecco is a beautiful rose shade that will show up darker than Rose’ that I have.

Pur Minerals Prosecco

Cabernet is a wine shade that appears to be quite cool toned.

Pur Minerals Cabernet

Pur Minerals Cabernet

Rose’ is a baby pink that’s almost Barbie Pink but it’s such a soft and flattering color that it doesn’t remind me of a doll.

Rose' from Pur Minerals

Peach Bellini is the only warm shade in the group but it’s not overly warm. It looks like a slightly scary orange in the tube yet in actuality it’s a gentle peach that isn’t too dark.

Pur Minerals Peach Bellini

Cheek Stains have a dewy glow. They contain skincare benefits with anti-oxidant wine extract to help with signs of aging.  Besides being cool to the touch, easy to use with luscious shades they also have a fruity fragrance that reminds me of bubble gum. I notice the fragrance at first but within about 10 minutes it’s gone.

These are blush sticks that I can easily recommend for you and in the lighter shades they’d be great for a teen since they are almost impossible to overdo. Pur Minerals is found on their website as well as at Ulta stores and online.

Summer Beauty with IT Cosmetics, Pur Minerals, Gabriel eyeshadow, Mally and more

Beautysets - Summer Beauty
It’s Tuesday and that means Top Ten Tuesday. Today’s topic is summer beauty. My choices are 10 items (or more) that I know I’ll be using all summer. I started this by deciding what I’d take with me for a long summer weekend away. I just included cosmetics, not skincare, or this would be all about sunscreen. The ten items I picked are ones I’m enjoying and I’d happily put in my cosmetic bag.

1.  URBAN DECAY MINOR SIN PRIMER POTION – I chose Minor Sin since it does double duty for me. It’s both an eyeshadow primer and a color product. It works great under the eyeshadow I’d bring and it works beautifully on its own for a simple look. It’s a champagne shimmer that’s sheer.

2. GABRIEL COSMETICS EYESHADOW TRIO IN SMOKEY SHIMMER* Eyeshadow Trios are new to Gabriel Cosmetics and I am loving Smokey Shimmer. It’s very versatile and won’t take up much room. I’ll be able to get a few different looks with this depending on whether it’s night or day. I’ll have a full review of this soon.

3.  PHYSICIANS FORMULA Eye Booster™2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum is my new favorite eyeliner. I have searched so long for the perfect brown liquid eyeliner. I’ve found several brands I really like (at last) but this is the one I can’t put down. A perfect brown, an easy to use felt tip point, a great price, and very long lasting. I plan to buy another at the next sale.

4.  DV LIGHT UP MASCARA*  (DV stands for Dakota Vox) This mascara not only gives me long separated lashes but it lights up and has a mirror on it. Perfect for a getaway or any time. So far I haven’t lit it up but I’ve been using this daily and I love the way my lashes look. It doesn’t clump and it doesn’t smudge. It’s easy to remove which I’ve been appreciating lately because I’ve had to rub my eyes too much with other mascaras. The silicone brush deposits the pigment easily and evenly.

5. IT COSMETICS EYELIFT IN A TUBE should be no surprise to anyone since I love my IT Cosmetic items. This isn’t one that I’ve written about but it’s one I use all the time. This two sided beauty has a wand of Bye Bye Under Eye on one side and Hello Light™ Liquid Brightener on the other. Dab a little of the Liquid Brightener on and you look ready to hit the town.

6.  PUR MINERALS CC CREAM* is one of my favorites that I don’t mention enough. It has SPF 40 so it’s a good addition to whatever other sunscreen I’m using. I love the coverage. Lately I’ve been applying it with a kabuki brush but I can easily use my fingers. I have it in Light and the shade is great for me. Why I’d take this with me is that I don’t have to follow up with a powder.

7.  PUR MINERALS CHATEAU CHEEKS CREAM BLUSH* are just a few of the cream blushes I love. What makes this summer beauty worthy is that it’s firm to the touch so it means that they won’t melt away. It only comes in two colors (Coy and Flirty) but they are both excellent. Both work great with the Gabriel Smokey Shimmer Eyeshadow Trio I picked.

8.  IT COSMETICS HELLO LIGHT™ RADIANCE POWDER* is perfect for me to use in the summer. It’s not sparkly, there’s no glitter, there’s just glow. It can be used anywhere you need highlighting or it can be used as a finishing powder. There’s a light golden glow to it. Another IT Cosmetics favorite!

9.  MALLY EVERCOLOR LIP MAGNIFIER* – it was difficult to pick from my lip crayon loves but Mally doesn’t get talked about enough and I love these lip crayons. The coverage is great, they are very smooth and there’s some lip plumping going on. My favorite is Princess Pink but there are 14 different shades at Ulta.com so you’ll surely find one you love.

10.  HARD CANDY ALL GLOSSED UP HYDRATING LIP STAIN* is the $5 alternative to Mally or Tarte lip crayons. On Walmart.com there are just a few shades available but there are more when you go in person. These are just like the name states – hydrating, glossy and lightly staining. It wears away evenly on me but I’ve only tried a Cupcake which is pink so I don’t know about darker shades.

Here’s my 10 but now that I’m done I realize I should have included so much more, including nail polish. I guess you’ll have to keep coming back for more posts.

Pur Minerals Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation is ready for your beauty shot

Pur Minerals Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation

Pur Minerals Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation

The newest innovation in the cosmetic world is cushion foundation and I’m pleased to share with you the one from PUR Minerals, Air Perfection CC Cushion Foundation. These foundations are taking the market by storm and Pur Minerals has shown me why. When I learned about the foundation and was offered one for review, I was excited to try it out. And now I’m excited to share it with you.

open up the lid to find this

open up the lid to find this

When you open up the shiny white lid you’ll see an applicator and a sealed foundation.

Pur Minerals Air Perfection opened

Pur Minerals Air Perfection opened

Once you open the seal you’ll find a cushion top that allows the foundation to be released when you press down with the applicator. I always use the soft pink side of the sponge applicator to apply Pur Minerals CC Cushion Foundation. It picks up the right amount once you squeeze down on the foundation and it blends in the color very smoothly.

Air Perfection CC Cream has SPF 50 which is one of the reasons I like this so much. Another reason is that this is a very light feeling foundation. I never notice that it’s on but I do notice how nicely my skin looks when wearing this. The foundation itself feels a little like a mousse. You can wear it sheerly or you can build it up to a medium coverage and still never feel like you have foundation on.

Air Perfection in Light

Air Perfection in Light

Air Perfection contains some great ingredients like skincare emollient: Babassu Oil. Native to Brazil, this palm-based ingredient nourishes a dewy soft complexion with intensely hydrating lauric and myristic acids and antioxidant vitamin E.

Packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients that:

  • Help soothe visible irritation for a clearer, more comfortable complexion
  • Provide texture-plumping hydration that softens the look of lines
  • Moisturize, smooth and protect with antioxidant benefits
  • Deliver a megadose of anti-aging amino acids and vitamins

I wish this came in more shades and hopefully that’s something that Pur Minerals will correct. Right now the four shades are Light, Medium, Tan, Dark. The Light is what I wear but I have to be careful to blend it really well along my chin and hairline. I’d love to see this in Fair and believe there’s plenty of room for some other shades in between the 4 available. That’s my only complaint about this though.

I love that it’s so portable and doesn’t leak. I think the ingredients are excellent. I love the hydrating performance of this and the SPF level. I’m always happy that Pur Minerals does not test on animals and is cruelty-free. cruelty-bunnies

This can be found at Dermstore.com for $30, Pur Minerals website, and Ulta. Dermstore is the site I found the best price.

Have you worn a cushion foundation? If so what do you think of them? — Marcia

Perfect that pucker with Pur Minerals Pout Pens

You know that sinking feeling you get when you pass by a mirror and realize that almost all of your lipstick has worn off, except for an unsightly ring around the outside? You won’t get that feeling with Pur Minerals Pout Pens.

A good lip stain doesn’t wear off…in fact, they can be difficult to remove even when you are trying! They can also be drying, so continual hydration over the stain is necessary. Pur Minerals recently sent two shades of their new stain/lip balm hybrid Pout Pens ($20) to test – Sangria and Mai Tai.

Pur Minerals Pout Pens

Pur Minerals Pout Pens

These are very handy because the stain really lasts and the opposite end is a hydrating balm that keeps lips soft and provides some slip. Sangria is a pretty purple/wine shade and Mai Tai is a bright pinky-peach.

The hydrating end has such a small amount of tint that I couldn’t get any good pics of swatches. They gives some shine and also have vitamin C to help fight free radicals. The marker end is very easy to apply as the sharp tip makes for great precision.

I really like these, especially for long days without mirrors! They come in two more shades, Cosmo (red) and Fuzzy Navel (peach). You can find these handy additions to the lip stain world at Ulta and PurMinerals.com.  – Lisa

What are your favorite blushes for spring?

It’s blush time for Top Ten Tuesday. There are so many amazing blushes from low end to extremely high end. It’s easy to covet blush we don’t have but it’s a little disconcerting to open a drawer and find it crammed with blush. Does that stop me? No but I’m getting better. Here are 7 of my favorite blushes that I’ll be wearing this spring and 3 that are on a wishlist. What are your favorites? — Marcia
1425854102_rapture-resizeRITUEL DE FILLE in RAPTURE is the first of my wishlist blush. My blog partner had the opportunity to review this beautiful cream blush ($24) and it is so up my alley. I love this gorgeous pink and I love cream blush. Gloss48 picked a winner!

Rituel de Fille Rapture Blush

Rituel de Fille Rapture Blush

1425853994_0607845055037NARS ADORATION DUAL INTENSITY BLUSH ($45) has been on my wishlist since they were first announced. I love the sparkling baby pink and shimmering hot pink. Of all Nars’ blushes I know this is the one that would get the most use.
1425853888_62d56e5f-ce6e-4e12-9b1f-a87bf8e9c73a_90120.pngPAULA’S CHOICE BLUSH IT ON CONTOUR PALETTE seems to have it all. 4 blush shades, 1 bronzer and 1 highlighter. At $36 the price is right. The blush shades are Delicate Coral (vibrant peach), Peony (light to medium muted pink), Dusty Rose (medium pink with a hint of coral), and Soft Mauve (rich, medium berry-pink). The highlighter is Pearl and has a luminescent quality while the Bronzer is a warm brown. This is probably the next item I’d buy.

1425853814_head-over-heels-compact_2MAKEUP GEEK HEAD OVER HEELS powder blush ($9.99 pan, $12.99 compact). I have a few of the Makeup Geek blushes and they are packed with pigment. Head over Heels is the lightest of them all, it’s a soft bubblegum pink with a little shimmer. Great price and quality.
1425853732_2275337__detail_?1425853732L’OREAL VISIBLE LIFT BLUR BLUSH ($12.99) is available in 3 shades though I found it nearly impossible to locate in stores. Luckily Meijers had this in Soft Peach along with a $2 coupon so I scooped it up. The texture is very silicone like so it may not work for some people but I’m enjoying it. It uses an opti-blur technology and contains anti-aging benefits. I’m happy that it’s not fragranced. Soft Peach is a pinky peach and a lovely spring shade.

1425853644_chateau-cheeks-cream-blush-flirt-opencpt-.08oz-72dpiPUR MINERALS CHATEAU CHEEK CREAM BLUSH in FLIRT ($18) has stolen my heart. This cool pink that leans toward the blue side of the spectrum wears wonderfully, glides on, and dries down to a perfect finish. I love the blush in Coy too but Flirt is spring in a compact.
1425853584_secret-admirer_2MAKEUP GEEK BLUSH IN SECRET ADMIRER is the perfect spring blush. It’s a matte orchid that is packed with pigment. I keep a powder puff nearby since it can be intense but that intensity means it’s going to last all day. If I had to pick one MUG blush Secret Admirer would be the one.
1425853513_2268213__detail_?1425853513TARTE CHEEK STAIN in Blushing Bride ($24) is another pink favorite. The tarte cheek stains are unique in many ways and all the colors are gorgeous but it’s Blushing Bride that I’m currently craving for warmer weather.

Tarte Blushing Bride

1425853435_2264082__detail_?1425853435IT COSMETICS VITALITY BLUSH STAIN in Radiant in Rose ($24) is probably the most long lasting of any blush. It’s true to its name as a blush stain. It’s loaded with anti-aging ingredients and anti-oxidants. I love everything from IT Cosmetics and this blush stain is an example why. (Available at Ulta)
1425853344_tarina-tarantino-parasol-openTARINA TARANTINO DOLLSKIN BLUSH in PARASOL ($25) shouldn’t be a surprise to Beauty Info Zone readers. I chose it as my favorite blush of 2014 and it continues into 2015. I love this pinky peach shade more than any blush in my collection.

Am I a Savvy Flirt or am I Coy? Let’s ask Pur Minerals.

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks blush in Flirt, Coy and Savvy

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks blush in Flirt, Coy and Savvy

When PUR MINERALS wanted my attention they knew the way to my heart was through cream blush. As much as I love a beautiful powder blush, I love cream blushes more. I just find them so easy to wear. But Pur Minerals wanted me to know how great their powder blush was so they sent one of those too. And they were correct. They got my attention and my heart.

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Cream Blush in Flirt and Coy

Pur Minerals Chateau Cheeks Cream Blush in Flirt and Coy

Pur Minerals created two Chateau Cheeks Cream Blushes ($18) one cool, one warm. There’s no way for me to pick a favorite since the colors on both are beautiful. Flirt is a cool pink with a touch of blue in its undertone (even if my pictures belie that statement). It’s described as a soft pink shade which it is but you can build the depth without a problem.

These cream blushes have a very lightweight formula that isn’t the least bit greasy which is what I think people fear from a cream blush. They dry down nicely while still leaving the dewy look that they start with.

Pur Minerals Coy Cream blush

Pur Minerals Coy Cream blush

Chateau Cream Blush in Coy is one of the most natural looks I’ve experienced in a blush. It’s a soft nude apricot that I find can be worn with just about everything. I especially like it when I’m wearing a more intense eye since it doesn’t compete. I do have to apply it again in the evening if I’m going out but a little dab is all that I need.

Pur Minerals cream blush contains antioxidant-rich resveratrol and vitamin E to nourish, hydrate and promote healthy, youthful skin. They blend easily and beautifully.

Pur Minerals Savvy powder blush

Pur Minerals Savvy powder blush

There are 4 shades that Pur Minerals has created in their Chateau Cheeks Pressed Powder blush ($18). I have Savvy and it amazes me how pigmented this blush is. The first time I applied it with my angled blush brush I was a little shocked at the intensity of it. A powder puff tamed it but from that point on, I used a very light touch. Savvy is an inviting neutral pink. It’s extremely long lasting so if I’m going out for a long time this is the one I reach for.
