Be You, Be Beautiful with Osmosis + Colour Satin Foundation

Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation

With the season change we’re ready to add in some new products to our routines and first on our mind is foundation, specifically Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation. Osmosis is a trusted brand for skin care and their colour products have proven to be favorites of both Lisa and Marcia. This new foundation is available in 5 shades and is gluten-free and vegan.

As many of you know Osmosis is known for their skin care so using this foundation is a benefit to your skin. Performance Wear Satin Foundation ($48) uses an ingredient called Dermaxyl® as an anti-aging feature. Dermaxyl® stimulates cell communication and helps repair age related skin damage. The foundation features both chamomile (for calming) and hyaluronic acid to add hydration to your skin.

Marcia wears this in Natural Light

Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation in Natural Light

Of the 5 shades the lightest is Natural Light. Let me tell you that I really like this foundation but I do have a gripe and that’s with the shade range. The shades are Natural Light, Natural Medium, Golden Light, Golden Medium, and Beige Dark. This isn’t a wide enough range to cover all complexions. If you can find a shade that works for you you’re going to love it, but they’ve left out many of the customer base with such a limited range.

Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation Natural Light swatch

Natural Light isn’t the lightest color that I’ve used in foundation. When I line it up next to others I see that it’s much warmer. But it works for me as long as I don’t I apply it heavily. I can add some of my Manic Panic White foundation to it to make it lighter and then the shade is wonderful for me. I’m enjoying how long-lasting this foundation is and that it doesn’t oxidize on my skin.

Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation Natural Light swatch blended

The first time I wore the foundation I used too much (see photo above) and it was too dark. I was able to buff it down though and now I use much less to get the perfect coverage.

Osmosis + Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation, Osmosis Pink Pearl blush, Hikari finishing powder

What I love most about the foundation:

  • it blends beautifully whether I use a blender sponge, an Artis brush, or my fingers
  • it lasts all day – I don’t have to reapply
  • there is NO fragrance!!
  • it looks like my skin but better. I get the coverage I want/need yet I’m not loaded down with foundation
  • I don’t have to use a finishing powder unless I want (typically just on my cheeks so I can use my all time favorite powder blush Osmosis Pink Pearl)

This isn’t a dewy finish, it’s a satin so it makes my skin look more youthful than a matte finish while at the same time looking lightly luminous. I’m happy to have this as part of my foundation wardrobe.

Lisa wears this in Natural Medium

Like Marcia, I think the color selection could be wider.  Natural Medium is ok for me, just a little on the yellow side.  My skin is decidedly neutral – right smack in the middle – so I just add a little bit of The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops and I get the neutrality I need.  It’s worth the extra step because I really dig the coverage and the finish.

Osmosis+Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation in Natural Medium

Osmosis+Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation in Natural Medium

What I love most about the foundation:

  • the coverage – I use it sparingly on my good areas, and build up for full coverage on my bad areas that have uneven skin tone.
  • the wear – this lasts all day on me without fading or oxidizing, which is often a problem for me.
  • it keeps my skin hydrated and looking great, and doesn’t settle into my fine lines
  • the finish is darn near perfect, satiny but not shiny.

Now if we could just get a few more shades this would be a perfect liquid foundation!  You can find Osmosis+Colour Performance Wear Satin Foundation online at osmosisskincare.com.

Beautiful! Osmosis+ Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal

These days everyone wants to be a unicorn – the more ethereal and iridescent, the better. Garish disco ball glitter is out – soft, floaty, fairy dust loveliness is IN. A fabulous way to find your magic is with the Osmosis Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal ($30). Not only is this magical fairy dust gorgeous, it’s also good for your skin.

Osmosis+ Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal

The Osmosis Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal is infused with Moringa Oil, which is an antioxidant that fights off free radicals. It has a very light scent that is pleasantly floral and not at all overpowering. The powder is in a jar that has a brush attached and the brush twists to allow the powder to come through. The powder can be used anywhere on the body and face.

Initially, the Body Shimmer Powder in Opal goes on lightly for soft, sheer metallic iridescence. A quick swipe is all that is needed for a some glimmer on cheekbones.

Before shaking through some color

And after!

For extra unicorn magic, give arms, legs, decolletage, or even hair a few more passes.   It still looks demure until you step into the sun, and then wow – it really does become magical, shimmering and shining like crazy.

Wearing my Osmosis+ Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal

Like all proper unicorns, the Osmosis Colour Body Shimmer Powder in Opal is gluten-free and vegan. I just love this for summer. It looks great on bare legs and arms, and if you are going out dancing it couldn’t be any more fun. And don’t forget, while you are bringing out your inner unicorn, you are also fighting off free radicals! It just doesn’t get any better than that.  – Lisa

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel “Be You. Be Beautiful”

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel

Osmosis has two lines – skin care and colour. So far we’ve been lucky enough to try their very best products. Or maybe everything they make is their very best. Today we are going to educate you on their Brow Gel. We were both thrilled when Osmosis sent us a color of our choice. But thrilled isn’t always enough – it’s how effective the products are that counts – so let’s find out if Marcia and Lisa consider these to be effective brow products.

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel

MARCIA has the BROW GEL in BROWN

Osmosis Brow Gel in Brown

Osmosis Brow Gel in Brown

At one point in my life, or actually most of my life, I didn’t even think about my eyebrows. Now? It’s a necessity for me to groom my brows. Boy what a difference it makes on my face.

Osmosis + Colour Brow Gel Brown

Osmosis + Colour Brow Gel Brown

Brow Gel is available in 4 shades: Auburn, Blonde, Brown, and Taupe. I use it in Brown and it’s a very deep brown that makes my eyebrows look totally finished. Here’s their website’s shade to show you more of what it looks like on my brows:

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel Brown (osmosisskincare.com)

Osmosis +Colour Brow Gel Brown (osmosisskincare.com)

The Brow Gel lasts on me throughout the day. It’s very creamy so it’s not difficult to pick up the right amount on your brush. Once on in the morning it doesn’t come off until I remove it myself. So far I haven’t even found any fading. The little bottle is adorable and easy to take on the go. It’s all there for you – gel and brush. You can use their brush which applies the gel with ease or your own longer brow brush. No matter which you’ll find an easy and thorough way to fill in your eyebrows.

LISA has the BROW GEL in TAUPE:

Osmosis Brow Gel in Taupe (osmosisskincare.com)

Osmosis Brow Gel in Taupe (osmosisskincare.com)

My hair is lighter than Marcia’s – it’s a medium brown with blonde highlights. You always want your brows to be a little lighter than your hair color so Taupe is a great fit for me. I really love the little brush that comes with the brow gel because it fills in my brows in a very natural way without looking too flat. The only other thing I need is a spoolie to brush my brows up. If this also came with a spoolie I would say that it’s perfect…but without it it’s still darn near perfect!

A tip that I actually learned from Marcia many years ago is to dip the brush into the color from the outer portion of the brow gel first.  This helps the gel last longer and keeps it from drying out. The brow gel is waterproof so once applied it lasts all day, which is a huge bonus. Groomed brows make such a difference, and smeared/faded brows are not a good look! This cute little bottle makes a powerful difference in your look, and it’s definitely something that should make its way onto your vanity.

If you want groomed brows that look natural and last all day, be sure to give Osmosis Brow Gel a try. You can buy it online at Dermstore.

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss review and swatches: Lilac, Pink Sapphire, and Berry Frost

Osmosis +Colour Lip GlossThe BIZ has reviewed quite a few Osmosis +Colour Cosmetics products that we love – the Longwear Liquid Foundation, Age Defying Treatment Concealer, Colour Blush, and Cashmere Longwear Matte Lipsticks just to name a few. Today I have three of the beautiful +Colour Lip Glosses ($19) for your consideration: Lilac, Pink Sapphire, and Berry Frost, all great shades that are definite winners.

The Lip Gloss is thick with a slightly sticky yet still creamy texture. It has a good wear time and high shine. The shades feature 3-dimensional pigments that make lips look full and lush. While they all have shimmer, the shimmers don’t migrate (thank goodness because no one loves chin shimmer – no one.) The lip gloss is hydrating, thanks to the jojoba and sunflower oils, and the glosses play well by themselves or with lip liner and/or lipstick.

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Lilac

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Lilac

Lilac is a sheer pink/purple. It’s truly a barely there color that adds plenty of shine and shimmer to lips along with a very slight tint. It’s a great choice for low maintenance days or for layering over lip liner.

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Pink Sapphire

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Pink Sapphire

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Pink Sapphire

Pink Sapphire is a rich pink.  I love this shade…it’s the perfect everyday lip gloss that gives just enough color and shine to lips to work with pretty much any outfit in any situation. It has a slight luminescence that makes it different from any other shade in my collection.

Osmosis +Colour Lip Gloss in Berry Frost

Berry Frost is a berry pink. Does this shade scream winter or what? It’s a wonderful holiday color that is ensconced in my purse for the season. Like Pink Sapphire, it has just a hint of luminescence that really gives it depth and makes lips look lush.

Osmosis +Color Long Wear Liquid Foundation and Age Defying Treatment Concealer

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Foundation

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Foundation

Beauty Info Zone has been lucky enough to have tried several Osmosis +Colour cosmetics and each time we become more obsessed with the brand. The latest product that has been sent to us is their Long Wear Liquid Foundation. After wearing this for several weeks we have grown to admire Osmosis +Colour even more. There’s a big difference between Lisa and Marcia when it comes to skin tone. Lisa has a more golden skin tone plus she faux tans; Marcia is a pale person and she embraces that paleness. Lisa’s skin is on the oily sign with an active tee zone while Marcia has dry skin. That means you’ll get two views in our latest Side by Side.

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

LISA WEARS NATURAL MEDIUM

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation is a great liquid foundation that comes in 8 shades on Osmosis’ site and 5 at Dermstore. This is a medium coverage foundation that is definitely buildable. It covers everything I want covered but it has a terrific finish and doesn’t look fake.

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

I tend toward shiny/oily in my t-zone, so I prefer matte foundations even though they can aging, especially around the eye area. The Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation is different because it’s almost matte, yet it’s still a little glowy so it doesn’t look dry. The effect is natural, which goes along with their tag line:  Be You. Be Beautiful.

Wearing Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

Natural Medium is the shade for me – I am typically MAC NW25, although I have some faux tan so I am probably at about an NW30 right now. I am loving the foundation and I hope you try it for yourself!

MARCIA WEARS FAIR

While Lisa has done the main review of Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation I have to put my two cents in of course. And speaking of cents – this foundation has no scent. I love that it’s fragrance free. But that’s not all I love about it. Since I wear this in Fair, the lightest shade, I want it to be very fair but not ghostly pale. The foundation fits that bill. It gives me life while blending in with my neck and forehead.

The weather has been extremely hot and usually sunny and I’m finding that this really is a long wear foundation. It’s not slipping away and it’s not melting off. It’s a winner for me.

The main product I want to talk about though is Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer.  One of my very favorite blushes is the Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush. I find I can wear it with just about any eye/lip combo I choose. Well, being a klutz, I dropped it and most of it shattered. I really missed it so within a few days I ordered it from Dermstore. To my delight the concealer was a gift with purchase with any $25 Osmosis order.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer

I don’t think I could have picked a better gwp. While the Age Defying Treatment Concealer comes in 4 shades (Fair, Silk, Light, Medium) the full size gift comes in Silk only. This is slightly darker and more yellow than the foundation but once it’s blended in, it still works well for me.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk

What’s unusual about this concealer is that it’s two-sided. One side is the concealer with a wand for application while the opposite side is a balm. I wasn’t quite sure what the balm would do but I’ve worked it into my routine some days now that I’m used to it. It’s a hydrating balm that plumps skin to ensure subsequent makeup doesn’t settle into any lines or wrinkles.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer - balm side

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer – balm side

The balm is the reason this is called a Treatment Concealer. “Formulated with a cocktail of antioxidants and argan, apricot and coconut oils, this twist-up stick softens signs of age while preventing new ones from forming.”

After the balm has settled into your skin then follow through with the liquid concealer. It does a great job on dark circles for me plus it’s not just an undereye concealer like so many others. It’s great for your face and for any blemishes you might have. The way I use the balm is mostly in the evening before going out. My eyes often look like it’s the end of the day so I sweep the balm under them and pat it on. Then I’ll use the concealer wand to dab just a little product and blend that in. My face looks refreshed and I’m ready to roll. Ingredients are Shea Butter, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Vitamin E, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Antioxidants, Vitamin C.

Purchasing the wonderful Osmosis Long Wear Liquid Foundation will also bring you the Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk. You can’t get better than that. While we don’t know how long the GWP is in effect, we do recommend that you take advantage of the savings while you can.

Think Pink with Osmosis Blush in Pink Pearl

Think pink

Think Pink

A new year and it’s back to Think Pink. I get so excited when I find a pink cosmetic product to share with you and today I have one that I just can’t get enough of: OSMOSIS COLOUR BLUSH in PINK PEARL. I haven’t stopped wearing this blush since I was lucky enough to receive it to test out. I don’t generally lean toward powder blush but Osmosis has changed my mind.

When I look at my pictures of this blush I see some peach to it but on my cheeks it’s the perfect pink. With some blushes I have to worry about the intensity of the color that will end up on my cheeks but that’s not the case with this Osmosis Colour Blush. It glides on giving me the perfect dusting of blush the first time. I can build upon it if I want but I don’t have the dreaded fear of blush overdose.

Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush

Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush

Osmosis Colour uses mineral pigments that are safe for you. This blush gives me a natural luminous appearance. It contains green tea extract to neutralize free radicals and moringa seed oil which hydrates and nourishes. Also Vitamins A and C to boost firmness and elasticity.

Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush

Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush

Pink Pearl is described as a soft pink. It’s silky soft and lasts a full 8 hours without fading. It’s not the least bit chalky nor is it difficult to blend. The shade is a warm pink so it’s not going to make people turn their heads to see if you stuck bubble gum on your face. It’s soft and enhances my features.

Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush

The blush comes in 5 shades: Nude Bliss (nude-mauve), Summer Rose (berry pink; looks gorgeous!!), Spring Crush (soft coral), Pink Pearl and Plum Blossom (soft purple tones with satin finish). Right now on Dermstore these $27 blushes comes with an Osmosis Concealer (a $33 value). There are 4 other shades available but I haven’t found them.

MARCIA’S LIPS:  FIRST KISS

Osmosis First Kiss Cashmere Matte Longwear Lipstick

Osmosis First Kiss Cashmere Matte Longwear Lipstick

As many of our readers know I’m the light lipstick one of the group. Both Lisa and I have small lips, much to our dismay. I like a light lipstick with more drama on my eyes while my pal Lisa is the opposite. Therefore I chose First Kiss as my favorite and it’s a great shade for my taste. This is the lightest of the lipsticks and can run either pink or peach depending on your skin chemistry.

Osmosis First Kiss

Osmosis First Kiss

On me this is a pretty peach shade that has more pink in it than is shown in my photo (under poor lighting). It’s not often that I like a matte lipstick since they show every line but this doesn’t feel like a matte on. It’s not drying on my lips and applies smoothly and evenly. It does have a good life too. I’m a lip licker and scraper but even Osmosis First Kiss lasts through my many tics. It stays on me until I start eating a meal which is pretty amazing for me.

LISA’S LIPS:  PASSION

This color is HOT HOT HOT. Makes me totally think of Buster Poindexter…anyone remember him??

Osmosis Cashmere Matte Lipstick in Passion

Osmosis Cashmere Matte Lipstick in Passion

Passion is a very passionate hot hot hot pink. This is a beautiful berry pink that isn’t neon, but it is a strong color. The Osmosis Cashmere Matte Longwear Lipsticks are aptly named – they are definitely matte and they are definitely long wearing. In fact, mine is so pigmented that I prefer to use a lip brush to apply.

Osmosis Cashmere Matte Lipstick in Passion

Straight from the tube is just too much for my thin lips, although those of you with more in the lip department will probably find the straight application route just fine. For me, I need to blot a few times to get the color to a level my face can handle. And the whole time I wear this color I just can’t get that song out of my mind because I am feeling HOT HOT HOT!
