Ok, so these aren’t great gift ideas for a boy who is graduating – if you have one of those, get him a gift card. If you are shopping for a girl graduate, here are some excellent ideas for gifts Mont Bleu and Prada sent to the BIZ that she will love.
The Swarovski Hairpins from Mont Bleu are beautiful and so inexpensive – only $15.57! (This is a Czech store that ships internationally, just choose your preferred currency when you visit the website.)
The crystals in these hair pins are Swarovski, the Austrian manufacturer of crystals. The crystals come in quite a few different colors, each one prettier than the next.
The hair pins are just tight enough to hold hair in place without being uncomfortable. I love them. Another plus – they come in a perfect black gift box.
Another great choice from Mont Bleu are the Shamballa Bracelets ($24.66). As someone who works on both a high school and a college campus, I can tell you these are all the rage and your girl graduate will be thrilled. Every single bracelet is totally unique. They are made with waxed cord that is tied using macramé techniques. The braids hold stones, pearls, or beads and you can choose from several different sizes.
Different color possibilities include pastels, neon, grey, black, and white. They really are gorgeous, and again, so affordable!
Or you could go in a completely different direction and thrill your girl graduate with a little bit of Prada. Specifically, the Prada Candy Gift Set ($114). Look at how chic and fun the packaging is!
This set just came out in April, and it includes Candy Eau de Parfum (2.7oz.), Candy Lotion (2.5oz.) and a roll-on Eau de Parfum (.34oz.).
The fragrance is beautiful. It’s a young scent, but not too young, like bubblegum young. This smells of musk and caramel, which adds up to delicious. It’s fresh and fun, and young women love this.
There’s a roll perfume perfect for a purse or backpack.
And the lotion smells fantastic, it’s a slightly lighter scent than the perfume. It moisturizes beautifully and of course the packaging is total cuteness.
Since you are in for all those graduation ceremonies and open houses this month, you might as well get in some fun shopping too - and maybe grab something for yourself while you are at it. This year, save the gift cards for the boys and give the girls something fun! – Lisa
Mont Bleu is one amazing company. Every time Beauty Info Zone receives a package from the company we are more and more in awe of the beauty of the products they create. We’ve been fortunate enough to review glass files, pens, tweezers, mirrors and earrings. The list of products that Mont Bleu manufactures goes on and on. It’s easy to get lost in their website and it’s easier to want to buy everything they make. They are known for hand setting products with SWAROVSKI® ELEMENTS crystals. They are the producers of their own products, they aren’t resellers. They take pride in absolutely everything they create and when you actually see and hold them you’ll be fascinated with the precision work and the gorgeous colors of the crystals.
Beauty Info Zone believes these make the best gifts ever. We’re coming up on Mother’s Day, graduation and bridal showers and we can’t think of better gifts to give. We have some products to share with you to show even more of the beauty of the line.
Ask anyone in my family what I love most (besides my grandson that is) and they’ll say hearts. I’m known for collecting heart items. Mont Bleu has a whole section called Gifts with Heart which I’m sure they created just for me. Beautiful glass nail files, cell phone charms and key chains are in this part making me drool. Well my drooling is over. Take a look at this fabulous key chain.
When I saw it on the Mont Bleu website I thought it was perfect. When I had it in my hand I knew it was perfection for a heart lover. I’m afraid to leave my car with valet since I can’t imagine anyone not drooling over this. It looks like you’ve spent a fortune on this but it’s under $16US.
Having the two parts is great for me since I have 3 keys just for my mom’s senior living so I have hers on one and mine on the other. If I need to I can take one with me to lessen my load. This is sturdy and looks heavy but it really isn’t. I’m in love with my hearts!
Mont Bleu has also created some of the most beautiful bag hangers I’ve ever seen. Who wants their purse on the dirty floor of a restaurant? You can instead use their bag hangers to keep your handbag clean and safe. You can position this where you want on the table so that someone can’t just come by and snatch up your purse. It folds up small and you store it in the purse, ready to take out when you need it. Genius.
There are 24 to choose from too, priced from $14.29 to $21 US. They are packaged in a box ready to wrap and give. But do yourself a favor and buy one for yourself too.
What does everyone need these days? A business card holder. Actually, in my world everyone needs a business card holder with some BLING. Mont Bleu comes to the rescue with business card holders emblazoned with Swarovski Elements.
Mont Bleu says, “We brought a fresh look at the highly underestimated personal accessory, a business card holder. Sleek and functional design combined with high-quality hand-decorating work will add an unforgettable attitude to your image. Get your own chic accessory right now, whether it’s a gift or you want to treat yourself.”
The outside is so pretty with the black, pink, and white crystals in a floral pattern. The inside is impressive too – it’s not just plain metal, it’s a comfy looking black velvet that looks luxurious and impressive when you open the card holder.
And check out how fantastic it looks with my cards inside! It holds probably 20 cards easily. I love how I was able to coordinate the outside of the card holder with the colors of my cards. Mont Bleu has eleven different choices from completely plain to total BLING (around $25US) so take a look – I know there is a perfect choice for you.

Today is my birthday – happyFebruary to all of my fellow Aquarius friends!
Like Marcia, who had a January birthday, Mont Bleu was kind enough to send me a wonderful birthday package full of gorgeous gifts. I adore them all and couldn’t wait to share. Mont Bleu has a fabulous array of products that are available online and the shipping is incredibly fast! Check out my gifts and hopefully it will give you some ideas for gifting someone special in your life.
I love the Pen with Swarovski Crystals. It’s even in one of my favorite colors, deep blue.
Just look at that beautiful crystal on the top of the pen! This slim pen writes beautifully and makes writing those thank you notes a pleasure.
Next are the Slant Tip Tweezers. Aren’t they magnificent? The crystals are such a wonderful touch, these are tweezers you will want to keep out on your vanity.
Like Marcia, I was sent a glass nail file. There are so many to choose from on the site, but I really think this one is particularly beautiful.
Just look at that waterfall of blue and white crystals! My heart skips a beat when I see it, it’s so pretty.
I adore the extremely thoughtful Aquarius glass nail file. Glass nail files are perfect for my gel nails and I love the astrological personalization. This is a wonderful birthday gift for any cosmetics aficionado!
The final item in my birthday gift was a pair of these spectacular Swarovsky earrings. Every time I wear them I get comments! They turn different colors, from blue to pink to green. They end up matching every outfit I own!
I have been super impressed with this terrific online company that offers so many gorgeous items from crystal nail files to makeup mirrors to key rings to makeup and hair brushes. Take a look at Mont Bleu, I know you will find great gifts for friends, plus a plethora of items that you need to buy for yourself! – Lisa
When you get to be older birthdays just aren’t that exciting. I remember the anticipation of them when I was young or when I was about to turn drinking age. I remember the dread of them turning 30 or 40 not realizing at that point in my life that it was just another day. Now I find that my birthday is just another day. I look forward to spending extra time with my family and I adored the many wishes I received especially on Facebook this year. But gifts were basically non-existent. Except for one amazing package from Mont Bleu. I was in shock that a company that I’d worked with on the blog, one that has products I totally adore, would be kind enough to send a surprise package. I’m not showing off or bragging, but I wanted you to see these beauties and publically thank Mont Bleu for remembering this old broad.
Let’s start with the fact that my January birthday makes me a Capricorn. This glass file is part of the Zodiac line so you can find one of these wonderful files for anyone’s birthday. I’ve raved before about Mont Bleu’s glass files and I continue to do so with this one. I love everything about this.
They also sent this beautiful glass file from their Crystal line. This particular beauty has blue and clear Swarovski Elements crystals. Picking one out could take you all day since they have 7 pages of designs, each one absolutely beautiful. You can’t go wrong with any of their glass files.
If I’d just opened those two in the box I’d have been jumping up and down but there was more including these beautiful Crystal Earrings. Lisa has a similar pair and they absolutely sparkle. They change color depending on the light. They are subtle yet unusual enough that they are noticeable.
The next item in this surprise package is a Pen with Swarovski Crystals. I adore a beautiful pen and you can’t get prettier than this.
Last but far from least is this fabulous Slant Tip Tweezers. I’m addicted to tweezers. Without realizing it I took 4 with me on my trip in January. I had them hidden everywhere because “what if” I ended up without one there? But I never had one before with Swarovski crystals on it so this is very special to me.
I want to thank Mont Bleu for this amazing present (even my husband was a little embarrassed that they beat him to the punch). But more important is that I want my readers to see that this is a company they should look towards for gifts. There’s something for every woman in your life. Even my 93 year old mom was impressed and wants a glass file now. Beauty and quality all at low prices. It was worth having a birthday this year! — Marcia
I’ve wanted to do a top 10 list for the longest time but I keep finding more and more items I used for the first time in 2012 so the list has been growing exponentially. I’m forcing myself to cut it down though so that I don’t bore the heck out of you. I know I’m going to regret leaving out some things but if I keep talking about them over and over (like Youngblood Cream blush, BB creams or It Cosmetics products) you’ll most likely click this post off. I might be sorry but the Top 10 is now the Top 8 plus 1 worst for 2012.
Algenist skincare – I haven’t reviewed everything I’ve tried yet from Algenist but with the three I have reviewed and the items I will be reviewing, I can say that this skincare line is my find of the year. As a beauty blogger I try a lot of skincare but few really grab my heart and my wallet. Algenist has done that with their Eye Renewal Balm and Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50 plus more that will be coming.
Anastasia – my first review for Anastasia was She Wears It Well eyeshadow palette. At the time I said that it seemed like so many of my other palettes. If that’s the case then why do I reach for it all the time? Then along came Want You to Want Me and that came with me to the Beauty Spotlight Team’s desert island. And don’t get me started on Kisses On My Lips since they are so amazing. Yes, Anastasia has won a place (or 3) on my 2012 favorites list.
Mont Bleu – the most beautiful items ever to own or give as gifts. I’m a huge Swarovski crystal fan so when I was sent a mirror and file from them I went a little nuts. I’d love to own one of everything they make.
Morning Glamour satin pillowcases – when I started this list I never had a clue that a pillow case would be part of my top items. But I like them that much. I just wish they’d come in King size too since a lot of people I recommend them too only have King size.
Nail polish – this is where I’m cheating because I’ve found brands in the past year that I’m crazy about. I haven’t reviewed them all yet but that will change in 2013. The ones I have reviewed and recommend are SoFlaJo, Color Me Monthly subscription box polishes, butter London, NCLA, A England, and Polish & Co to name just a few.
Subscription boxes – how could these not be on my 2012 list? I don’t dare add up what I spent on these. I love trying these in the hopes that I’m going to find a holy grail item. The one box I have had the most fun with is PopSugar Must Have. It’s not even cosmetic either. But there are so many items I’ve never tried before nor run across since I’m not a big shopper (outside of the cosmetic counters that is). This has been fun and of all the boxes the one I know I’m sticking with for 2013. The others may go, new ones may come, but PopSugar will remain. (Hint – I have a new exciting subscription box coming up soon that will be fun too.)
Sunday Riley – I’ve gone a little nuts with Sunday Riley products though not all have been reviewed. My favorite powder blush that I bought in 2012 though is Honest from Sunday Riley so I really needed to include this in my list.
Tarte – It’s exceptionally difficult not to list and list oodles of Tarte. There’s so much I love about the brand but for 2012 the best product is Maracuja Creaseless Waterproof Concealer. I’m mad about this concealer and during the last 30% off sale on tarte’s website I even bought a backup while knowing I won’t need it for a long time. But what if I misplace it?? I needed that backup!!
Now for my worst – Venus Spa razors. I hate spending the money on razor blades but they are a necessity. When I ran out this month I bought Gillette Venus Spa at Costco which contained a razor and 12 cartridges. I used one of the cartridges on my Venus razor and hated it from the first time I used it. These contain huge gel bars on the ends. Not only did I cut myself every time I used the razor but after 1 leg shave and 3 underarm shaves one end fell off. I usually get a few weeks out of a razor. It bothers me that I spent $30 on this and I will be returning it for the Venus Divine blades that I like.
I have to give one B.I.G. shout out to Makeup Wars. This series is so much fun and I’m so thrilled to be a part of it. I hope you’ve discovered a lot of new blogs and enjoyed reading these as much as I enjoy doing them.
Thanks for reading my new favorites for 2012. I already have some items ready to review for 2013 that could easily be in the running for next year’s list so keep on reading!! — Marcia
We’ve reviewed a few brands on Beauty Info Zone that don’t come to mind instantly when you are thinking of products to buy as gifts. They aren’t owned by the big cosmetic companies and don’t have big advertising budgets but their products are fabulous. We thought we’d share a few items with you that might be nice to see under a Christmas tree/Chanukah bush.
VMV Hypoallergenics is a brand we’ve shared before. They have gifts for the people that have sensitive skin. My favorite is the MistleGlow gift but that’s currently out of stock.
What is in stock at Dermstore though are three different sets of skincare: Very Merry VMV Happy HoliDew kits for combination skin, dry skin or oily skin at $25.00.
One of the products most sensitive women moan about is mascara since most won’t work on their eyes. That’s where VMV Ooh La Lash shines. Finally a product that won’t burn or turn their eyes red. ($23 at VMV Hypoallergenics) This will help the person who normally can’t wear mascara have a special holiday look. This would be a great stocking stuffer.
“Each application adds a new sleeve, coating each lash, building an ever-thicker cocoon of rich, beautiful color, and creating s-tube-pendous, non-smearing volume. Non-clumping, smear-free (and therefore skin-friendlier). Why? Because instead of applying layers of looser pigments across a swath of lashes, it creates a clean, “sealed” tube around each lash.”
SKEEM is a brand that makes beautiful candle sets that your candle loving friends won’t find in every store in town. Here’s one of our favorites:
This is the Pillar Pack 2 that includes Night Jasmine and Fig & Black Pepper Pillars, and a Night Jasmine Half Pint. This set may be our favorite but there’s also 5 other sets ranging from $25 to $48. Read Lisa’s reviews on Skeem and you’ll see why it’s a favorite.
For your friend that would never wear Estee Lauder, Lancome or even Dior; the one that wants to be noticed; check out these amazing OCC Metallic Lip Tars.
These lip tars have a metallic sheen and give you the amazing long lasting color of the original Lip Tars. “Apply even less product than usual in this newest iteration of our groundbreaking Lip Tar™ formula for a fully metallized lip look.” These are available at OCC’s website and at Sephora.com for $16.00. ICED: OPAQUE SNOW WHITE FROST
TRIPTYCH: TRUE 24K METALLIC GOLD
AUTHENTIC: FULL STRENGTH COPPER METALLIC
ELECTRIC GRANDMA: ELECTRIFIED TRUE, CLASSIC CORAL
SUPER NSFW: TRUE RED WITH A GOLDEN METALLIC FLOURISH
YAOI: PERFECTLY PINK PEARLESCENCE
Last but not least, we love everything from Mont Bleu. We’ve recently reviewed some great files and gorgeous mirrors but they also have amazing jewelry, tweezers, hair brushes and cosmetic brushes. Plus they have a Black Friday sale at Design Glassware. You can’t go wrong with Mont Bleu.
Have fun shopping – only 36 days left!! — Marcia
