I think we could all use a little de-stressing right now, and The Body Shop has a nifty five-in-one collection of facial masks called the Recipes of Nature Collection. Each mask is full of superfoods, 100% vegetarian ingredients, and have no parabens, paraffins, silicone or mineral oils. This is a beautiful set that will put you and your skin totally at ease. samples
What I love about this set is the concept of ‘multi-masking’. I love to multi-task…put the word ‘multi’ into anything and I pay attention. Your skin isn’t typically all dry or all oily or all congested. Some parts need one kind of help while other parts need a totally different intervention. The Recipes of Nature Collection has five great masks that can be used together on different areas of your face…it’s what we call in the educational field ‘differentiation’, recognizing that everyone isn’t in the same place and we all have different needs.
The five masks in this collection include AMAZONIAN ACAI ENERGIZING RADIANCE MASK, ETHIOPIAN HONEY DEEP NOURISHING MASK, BRITISH ROSE FRESH PLUMPING MASK, HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL PURIFYING GLOW MASK, and CHINESE GINSENG AND RICE CLARIFYING POLISHING MASK.
The Amazonian Acai Energizing Radiance Mask is a gel mask with acai berry and guarana seed extract. It is an exfoliating gel facial mask that revives and energizes the skin. If you are really tired or feeling super stressed, this is the mask for you.
British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask is another gel mask gel-textured moisturizing mask that plumps up dry skin and makes it super soft. My cheeks are always so dry that I need this mask there…but my t-zone doesn’t need it. That’s why the multi-masking approach is so perfect. Ingredients include the ultra moisturizing aloe vera and pressed, crushed, and blended rose petals, which you can definitely smell right when you open the jar.
The Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is a beautiful honey based mask that moisturizes skin and improves elasticity. Super dry skin will practically cry in relief from this combination of honey, marula oil, and olive oil.
The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask was the first mask I tried because I had a bizarre breakout in my t-zone. This mud mask is a great decongestant for skin that pulls out toxins. Bamboo charcoal, tea tree oil, and green tea leaves make this mask a total zit-busting treatment.
The Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask is probably the most unusual of the masks, with a white almost chalky texture that exfoliates and tones skin. It brightens the complection and reduces pore size with ginseng, rice extract, and sesame seed oil.
Whatever you skin needs, there is an answer within the Recipes of Nature Collection. I highly recommend you pick this up and experiment with multi-masking. And in some really great news, with the purchase of any of these masks The Body Shop will restore 1 square meter of rainforest through their new Bio-Bridges program. The ultimate goal is to restore 75 million square meters by 2020! So you can feel good about feeling less stressed while also multi-tasking with multi-masking. Sounds good to me! – Lisa
