7th Heaven softens hands and feet with their great masks (giveaway time)

I sure hope you don’t get tired of me and my obsession with masks (and with having mask giveaways!). I don’t seem to get tired of using masks so I keep sharing them with you. Today I have some totally different masks from 7th Heaven for you. You know I love the variety, convenience, and prices of 7th Heaven masks. Well how about masks for your feet, hands, and fingers? They are as great as they sound.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques, Soften Glove Masks, and Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

I’ve got to start with my favorite of these three, 7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

My feet haven’t felt as soft in months. It’s better than a pedicure to treat my feet and lasts much longer too. If it cut my nails then it would be the perfect item ever. But I’ll forgive it since it makes my feet feel soft and conditioned for about 4 days. Taking a shower doesn’t even take away the effect of the moisturizing of these foot masques.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

The booties are made of a thin plastic outer and a mesh inner which contains the softening ingredients. It has both Shea Butter and Almond Oil to nourish dry skin and help repair cracked heels. It contains Peppermint to refresh your feet as well as Soybean to rehydrate them so you’re left with soft and smooth tootsies.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

These take only 15-20 minutes to use but they are so comfortable (and I can walk in them with my slippers on) that I usually forget and wear them longer. 7th Heaven is a cruelty free company that uses natural ingredients, in this case pressed peppermint, ground shea nuts, and pressed soybeans. When the time is up, remove and massage the lotion onto your feet. These are going to be so perfect in the winter when my feet take a beating. To Walmart I’ll be going to stock up on these!!

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

Similar to the sock masque is the Soften Glove Masque. While wonderful at this time of year, you can imagine what these will do for dry winter hands! My skin becomes chapped easily in the winter so wearing the Glove Masques will be even better when your hands have taken a beating. If your hands are always in water these will be a savior too.

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

With pressed rose petals as one of their main ingredients they are fragranced which makes them not quite perfect for me.

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

They are very comfortable and actually I could do most of the things I wanted while wearing them for 15-20 minutes though typing is iffy. Like the Soften Sock Masque, massage in the rich cream to keep your hands soft as can be.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques are a much better match for me and as much as I dislike winter weather I’ll be using these to save the skin on my fingers.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

Each package comes with 10 finger masques. What’s great for me is that I can use as many as I need and save the rest for later. My left hand takes more of a beating since I use it more. It’s always drier than my right and my cuticles dry out more since I wash my hands so often. The Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques contain pressed argan seed oil and macadamia oils to help nourish the skin on your fingers and cuticles. It also contains juiced pomegranates for an anti-oxidant rich treat.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

These are a great way to treat yourself before you do/have a manicure too.  After 15 minutes remove them and massage. Aaah what a spa treat. You really want these if you have damaged nails.

All three of these are available at Walmart stores and online for $3.94 a package. You can order them online and pick them up in the store if you want too. Like I said, the foot masques are going to be my besties come cold weather with the finger masques close behind. —  Marcia

Giveaway information: As much as I hate to give any of mine up there is going to be a giveaway for 1 package each of Soften Glove Masques and Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques along with 3 other 7th Heaven facial masks. This is open worldwide where permitted through 8/4/17 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. As usual if I can’t find your email subscription or your comment then you are eliminated. We don’t ask much of you on our giveaways but we do insist on that. Good luck and good tips and toes! – M

Mud Masks of the Month from Shiny Leaf and 7th Heaven with a giveaway

sample

Mud masks are one of the first ever masks used. Back in the days of Cleopatra mud masks were considered a cure all for whatever ailed you.

I have two different types of mud masks that I’ve been using and enjoying and I’m excited to be able to give one of our Beauty Info Zone readers a chance to try them both.

Let me start with the unusual – at least to me – Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask. Why is it unusual? It’s really a body mask and I haven’t used one of those before. Of course it can be used on your face too but it’s even better for your body. Here’s the routine

  1. Get a generous amount of the Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud mask and apply on the body.
  2. Apply on neck, arms, legs, and back until skin is evenly covered with the mud mask.
  3. Let product sit on the skin until it dries.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water carefully and pat skin dry after rinsing.

If you are using this on your body then you want to be near your bath so that you can wash it away. Face or body also have a washcloth ready to help with rinsing. But why do you want to use this mask?

How about the fact that it exfoliates, deep cleanses, and detoxifies? If that’s not enough it helps with problem skin like pimples, acne, and blackheads. That stubborn backne that you hate? Have you tried a Dead Sea Mud Mask on it? Ask a loved one to help you out and try for yourself. Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask is 100% natural and it’s loaded with minerals. You are stimulating circulation with this mask on your face and/or body.

Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask

I’ve only used this on my face and the results have been great. My face feels smooth as can be afterwards and makeup applies more evenly. I find it to be hydrating instead of drying.

Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask

Here are some bonuses … it’s made in the US with mud from the Dead Sea in Israel. This is 100% natural and free of all additives (contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, iodine, zinc, potassium and bromide, which are all good for the skin). Plus it works in just 10 to 15 minutes. And the price is only $12.71 for an 8.8 fl. oz. jar that’s made of plastic so no worries if your hands get slippery. So far I’ve gotten 4 uses from the jar and have over half left. This goes on so smoothly and while it dries down well it’s not stiff.

COUPON CODE FOR 30% OFF!!  Add SHINY30S at checkout and you’ll get this for only $8.90. OMG!!!!! What a steal.

7TH HEAVEN CHARCOAL MASQUE is the second mud mask that you want to know about. I’ve reviewed a lot of different masks from 7th Heaven (also known as Montagne Jeunesse) and have always liked them. At $1.99 each these are great for several reasons besides their efficacy. 7th Heaven masks are great for travel since they are small enough that they take up virtually no room in your packing. When done, you can just toss it and not worry. If you’ve never tried a mask, mud or otherwise, it’s a great way to get into them and see if they are for you.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

This Charcoal Masque is especially great for combination and oily skin. While my skin is combo to dry I found this works perfectly on me to refresh my skin. I can’t tell you how much I hate seeing my pores but using this masque cleans them out making me happy again.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque – you can see the texture

The texture of 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque is different than Shiny Leaf. This is a heavier feeling mask that contains Charcoal Powder (helps absorb oil and impurities), Ground Black Lava, and Crushed Walnut Shell. You can feel the walnut shell, even though it’s ground finely, when you first apply the mask. But you won’t feel it once it’s on and it is gentle on your skin.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

This takes 20 – 25 minutes to completely dry and dry it does. You’ll feel your face getting stiff but it doesn’t crack and, other than looking ugly as sin, you can go about your business. My skin really glows after using this. I have been getting 2 uses out of each package though it’s meant for one use. I just don’t find that it makes a difference if I only use half a package. Have you ever been in Ulta with a coupon and you are just short of being able to use it? Go find this mask or another 7th Heaven mask and “spend” your money this way. You won’t be sorry!  —  Marcia

GIVEAWAY:  So that one US Beauty Info Zone reader can have the experience of both types of mud masks the prize (provided by the companies) will be a jar of Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask and a package of 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque. A little bit of perfection for your skin. This giveaway is open through 7/29 at 11:59 pm EDT. Remember you must be an email subscriber and comment or your entries are invalid.

Mask of the Month: Osmosis Gel Mask

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask is one of the most refreshing products I’ve tried in a long time. It was what I turned to often during the stress of moving which made me love it even more than I already did. If you have dehydrated skin even in the heat this is a mask you need in your life.

sample

You can tell a lot about it just from the name

  1. hydralift  –  it gives your skin and mood a lift!
  2. firming  – the mask not only tightens and firms but it adds hydration
  3. gel mask  – the gel consistency is soothing and calming

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

This Osmosis mask is the easiest product to use. You apply it for 5 to 15 minutes on a clean face and wash it off. That’s it. It can be done morning or night. Any time you want an extra dose of cooling or moisturizing this is perfectamundo. (from Urban Dictionary: 2)psuedo-street slang signifying that something is exceptional or that it is perfect. Popularised by the t.v. character Arthur Fonzirelli.)

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

Just look at that gel! It’s so inviting. Just a thin layer is all it takes. You can use this daily if you want or treat yourself once or twice a week. It feels deliciously cooling once on. It contains Cucumber Extract which provides a cooling and healing effect if your skin is irritated. Then Aloe Vera helps speed up cell renewal and quickly penetrates for immediate hydration. With Hyaluronic Acid as an ingredient I knew that this was a mask that would fit into my life well. Don’t tell me you can resist that?

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

I like using this before bed so that I wake up with softer skin. My friend Cindy from Prime Beauty told me she used this after a peel at a medispa and that it helped vanish the flakies after just one use.

While this is expensive at $52 it lasts for a long time since you need so little of it. A biggie for me is that this isn’t messy and I can spend that 15 minutes doing whatever I want since it’s not dripping down my face.

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask was a no brainer for me for a mask of the month! Make it a mask of your month too.  —  Marcia

Mask of the month: Better Skin Lava Magik

lava magik

When you think of lava what’s in your mind? Black or ash colored gritty yet moist ooze came to my mind when Better Skin offered Lava Magik for me to use and review. At first I wasn’t so sure but then I remembered that one of my very favorite moisturizers ever is Better Skin Mirakle Cream so I gladly agreed.

Remember my fear about the color? Gone the instant I opened the jar of Lava Magik. No black, no ash, no grit, no slime. Just a beautiful orange colored and fragranced exfoliating mask for me to enjoy.

Better Skin Lava Magik

Better Skin Lava Magik

Lava Magik is a triple duty product that I’m enjoying incorporating into my skincare routine. Not only is it a mask but it’s also a cleanser and a scrub. Three for the price of one. Also one jar taking up residence on my vanity instead of three products so it’s space saving too.

Better Skin Lava Magik

Better Skin Lava Magik

But the beauty of Lava Magik is how it performs. Cleansing and exfoliating are two of the benefits of this jar. I either do a quick cleanse with it to refresh my skin at the end of the day by adding water in the palm of my hand, washing, and then removal with a wash cloth. For exfoliation use this one or two times a week on damp skin. Massage it in with circular motions and after about 60 seconds you are done. Since there is some scrubiness to Lava Magik I recommend a wash cloth to remove it fully.

Better Skin Lava Magik

Better Skin Lava Magik

But it’s the mask that intrigues me and makes me want to use this. First it has an extremely pleasant orange fragrance that is sweet and true. It’s not artificial, it smells like the real thing.

Dampen your skin and apply this, letting it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. It slightly hardens but it doesn’t prevent you from doing anything else. You can go on the computer or read since it doesn’t slide off. You can even talk. And it doesn’t scare anyone that walks in on you.

After 10 minutes I wet my fingers and massage it in so I’m getting the exfoliation part. Then I remove with lots of warm water and a washcloth.

Better Skin Lava Magik

Better Skin Lava Magik

But you know all that from other exfoliators and masks. What you don’t know is that Better Skin created this with skin cleansing volcanic lava from France enriched with nourishing calendula, sweet orange and grapeseed oils, cucumber, parsley, and chamomile for healthy radiant, more youthful looking skin.

Now for the many benefits (from betterskin.com):

  • A cleanser, scrub & mask
  • Excellent antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-yeast fighting skin cleanser
  • Buffs away dull surface cells creating a youthful glow
  • Retexturizes skin, leaving it soft, smooth and younger-looking
  • Helps diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars
  • Absorb excess skin oils
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Helps prevent acne outbreaks
  • Stimulates collagen production
  • Helps calm rosacea, psoriasis and eczema
  • Rich in minerals
  • Minimizes pores
  • Minimizes blemishes

Better Skin Lava Magik leaves my skin so soft and prepped for makeup. I can use this mask morning or evening and since it’s so fast and not messy it doesn’t interfere with my routines. Using Better Skin Mirakle Cream is a delightful way to complete this treat but it works well with any moisturizer I’ve used it with.

Lava Magik is happily my mask of the month and will continue to be used for many months since it’s got a lot of magik/magic to it.  —  Marcia

Mask of the Month: Woda Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

Woda Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

Woda Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

April brought me a lot of masks but one stands head and shoulders above the rest. WODA CELEBRITY 24 KARAT GOLD MASK is a 15 minute paradise for me and a morning delight.

sample

WODA_NEW-FINAL-LOGOLet’s learn about WODA before I give you the details. The word Woda means Water in Polish. The creator of the Woda skincare line is an aesthetician named Margaret Tomaszewicz. She has her own facial spa and decided to create a line that met all her client’s needs. Her skincare line is hydration focused, a line she promises will be based on scientific research, promising to be of the best quality, using organic and natural ingredients to aid specific skincare needs.

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

As a lover of facial masks I was thrilled to be offered the WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask to try and I’m more thrilled to be using this. It is not like the other masks that I use, it’s much more of a skincare product than just a mask.

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

The 24 Karat Gold Mask’s name comes from the fact that it’s infused with 24 karat gold. The gold works as a powerful antioxidant to fight signs of aging. I’m part of that battle as are many of you. It contains a potent dose of Vitamin C to help lighten hyperpigmentation.

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

When I first opened this I smelled cinnamon cookies. It reminded me of the cookies I buy for my grandkids (ok, me too) at Trader Joes. The smell is extremely pleasant to me and one that doesn’t last long once it’s on your face. It’s stronger in the jar than on your skin.

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask

WODA Celebrity 24 Karat Gold Mask is part mask and part moisturizer. Directions tell you to apply a rich layer on your face, neck, and decollate. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. It dries down but not all the way. It remains moist on your skin but not quite as moist as when you applied it. Do not wash it off though. Instead gently remove any excess with a dry cloth (I use a muslin cloth) and pat the remainder onto your skin. That’s it. You are moisturized!

Woda Celebrity 24 Karat Mask

Woda Celebrity 24 Karat Mask

When you wake up in the morning you’ll find your face is a little brighter, plumper, and beautifully moisturized. It adds that extra boost of hydration that your skin is begging for. It is recommended to use this once a week but it’s gentle enough to apply and leave on more often. The more you use WODA, the more luminous and bright your skin will become.

A little goes a long way and I expect this jar will last me at least 4 months if not longer. It’s delicious smelling and nutritious on my skin. That’s a little bit of paradise right in my own home. It should be in your home too.  —  Marcia

Masks of the Month from The Body Shop

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Mask and British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Mask and British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask

Last month I introduced what I hope will be a monthly post: Masks of the Month. I started with ToGoSpa and their lip and eye masks plus Hada Labo Tokyo sheet masks and why I liked these. I’m all about masks and love to use them therefore this month I’m going to share with you some Body Shop masks that I was sent. Not everyone loves sheet masks but there’s an alternative, turn to The Body Shop for one or more of their jar masks. The Himalayan Charcoal Purify Glow Mask was particularly great for me at holiday time but also great since then.

The Body Shop HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL Purifying Glow Mask

The Body Shop HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL Purifying Glow Mask

This 100% Vegan Mask is muddy looking goodness. Charcoal masks are meant to deep clean and that’s what I like about it. I have pores but I don’t like pores! Therefore once a week or once every other week is very helpful for those getting the gunk out of my pores, especially the ones on my nose. Even though I exfoliate often my nose often doesn’t want to cooperate. The Himalayan Charcoal mask has helped with the cleansing I need.

Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask

As many of you know I am phobic about fragrance so I worried about this mask but it has an intoxicating tea fragrance. Ingredients include Bamboo Charcoal from the Himalayan foothills, Community Trade Tea Tree Oil from Kenya, and Green Tea Leave from Japan.

Full Ingredients

Aqua/Water/Eau, Kaolin, Moroccan Lava Clay, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Alcohol Denat., Camellia Sinensis Leaf, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pumice, Argania Spinosa Shell Powder, Phenoxyethanol, Xanthan Gum, Parfum/Fragrance, Charcoal Powder, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Limonene, Linalool, Methylpropanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Menthol, Disodium EDTA, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil/Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Citric Acid, Menthoxypropanediol, Citral, Geraniol, Coumarin, Caramel.

Himalayan Charcoal Purity Purifying Glow Mask ($28) can be left on for 5-10 minutes. In 10 minutes it completely dries down but isn’t stiff. I use a muslin cloth to wash it off and then continue with my skincare. The Body Shop recommends using it 2 to 3 times a week but I think that depends on your particular needs.

The Body Shop BRITISH ROSE Fresh Plumping Mask

The Body Shop BRITISH ROSE Fresh Plumping Mask

The other mask that I have from The Body Shop is British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask. When I first saw the words “british rose” I worried about the fragrance. Even though a mask is on for a short time my sensitive nose can pick it up all day long BUT this smells pretty darn good and I don’t mind it at all. This mask is the total opposite in texture of the charcoal mask as this one is gel like. As a matter of fact it reminds me of a jar of jelly. It’s soft and has little bits of rose petals crushed into it. Sort of like Valentine’s Day in a jar.

The Body Shop BRITISH ROSE Fresh Plumping Mask

The Body Shop BRITISH ROSE Fresh Plumping Mask

This too is 100% Vegan but it works to plump and moisturize your skin. The British Rose mask never dries down. It stays moist just like it wants your skin to feel. It’s especially nice if your skin is feeling dehydrated by winter winds and weather. The three key ingredients are rose petals and essence of hand-picked roses from Britain, Rosehip oil from Chile, and Community Trade Aloe Vera from Mexico.

Full Ingredients

Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Propanediol, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-32, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Alcohol Denat., Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Rosa Gallica Flower Powder, Parfum/Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Methylpropanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Disodium EDTA, Rose Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Menthoxypropanediol, Limonene, Citronellol, Geraniol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, CI 14700/Red 4

While I don’t feel that my face looks all glowy after using this it does feel hydrated. I leave this on for about 10 – 15 minutes before washing it off with a washcloth, either muslin or terry.

One reason I love to use masks so much is that whenever I notice that my face needs some extra help, whether that’s hydration, deep cleansing, or a fresh glowing face, I turn to a mask. It gives my face the extra vitality that I need to make a change. Are you ready for a change?  Try The Body Shop masks!  —  Marcia

Beating the winter dry skin blues with Korres Greek Yoghurt Sleeping Facial

Korres Greek Yoghurt Sleeping FacialI can’t tell you how much dry skin drives me CRAZY. The older I get, the worse it gets…the dry patches, the itchiness, and then to make matters worse – the occasional break out. Ugh. I want plump, hydrated skin that isn’t flaky and doesn’t emphasize wrinkles and fine lines. Korres sent me a beautiful ‘sleeping’ facial mask that has all the hydration my poor stressed out skin needs – the Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial ($45).

Korres Greek Yoghurt MaskA sleeping facial is a hydrating mask that you apply after cleansing and treatments at night. It’s like a very serious moisturizer that sinks in all night long, providing a huge dose of vitamins and hydration to dry, thirsty skin. The Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial is a thick, fluffy moisturizer that has a yoghurt base, which is incredibly soothing to skin. It also has tons of vitamins C and E, great antioxidants that work wonders overnight. Added moisturizers include jojoba oil, aloe, beeswax, and hyaluronic acid. I slather this on at night and it doesn’t look like a mask – it soaks right in – but it continues to work as I sleep, and I see a big difference the mornings after I use this.

This has a light fragrance that might bother some, but I find that is dissipates quickly. I totally love what it does for my skin, and in addition to my face and neck I have been putting it on my hands. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to wake up to soft, hydrated, younger looking skin — who doesn’t want that??

I highly recommend the Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial for beating the winter skin blues. You can find it at high end department stores and online at Sephora.  – Lisa
