two turtle doves

BOXYCHARM has a charm about it that’s hard to beat. A month’s subscription is $21 and you are guaranteed to get 5 full size products. While I spent $21 to receive this, the box contains products worth $123. Where can you get 6 times the value of what you’ve spent except at Boxycharm?? Well you could get it by winning the November box right here for the 2nd day of our giveaways.

Let’s start with cosmetics since that’s what I subscribe to get. There are 3 items that make me “think pink”. First is the Manna Kadar Liplocked Priming Gloss Stain ($24) which has only been opened for photographs and not swatched at all. Manna Kadar calls this the latest innovation in lip stains. It contains Vitamins A & E plus Berry Extracts. It’s considered to be a lip primer and lip stain all in one. The color, All of Me, is really pretty and seems universal to me.

StudioMakeup Soft Blend Blush in Wildflower ($17) is a soft neutral that appears to be a warm pink. StudioMakeup describes this as having a silky smooth texture and being highly pigmented. It could also be used as a contour depending on your skintone.

Last of the pinks is the Luxie Rose Gold Concealer Eye Brush 211 ($12). This is a vegan makeup brush that’s coated with anti-bacterial solution. While it’s considered a concealer brush, it can easily be used an eyeshadow brush especially if you like to pat your shadows on rather than sweep them on.

Coolway Leave-In Treatment

Coolway Leave-In Treatment

Coolway Leave-In Treatment ($14.95) is 60 ml/2 oz. It doesn’t look full size but it it is. This is to be used on either dry or damp hair to condition and add moisture to your locks. It is said to help with split ends (or the appearance of split ends actually). Leave-In Treatment is a healing potion based on our patented formulation, that reduces frizz, moisturizes and repairs damage, as well as prevents split ends.”

Pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum

Pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum

The piece de resistance is the Pur-lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Eye Adore Serum ($65). It was hard for me to decide to include this in the giveaway actually. This contains active ingredients like soy protein and French marine plants to help prevent aging. It’s meant to work against wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness while also hydrating and lifting. Those are powerful words. I think this eye serum is the star of the show.

GIVEAWAY:  This is open to internationally except that I’d have to leave out the Coolway and substitute it with something else since liquids can’t be sent. You’d still get the rest of the products though. As usual you must subscribe to Beauty Info Zone (and not just to enter the contest and then unsubscribe). The giveaway is open through December 9, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST. If comments close please email me beautyinfozone@gmail.com with the title Boxycharm and leave your comment so you can continue.

I purchase Boxycharm subscriptions myself and have used my affliate link in case you want to get in on the fun and bargain of this great subscription. Thank you. — Marcia

Would you want some Wantable cosmetics? Of course you would.

Wantable Cosmetics for July 2015

Wantable Cosmetics for July 2015

Each month WANTABLE SUBSCRIPTIONS delivers unique boxes to their subscribers. While Lisa loves the Intimates and Accessory boxes, I am truly a Cosmetic maven and that’s the box that I love getting from them (pr sample). Whenever I see a Wantable review online I like to read it to see what they sent to the subscriber and I’ve yet to find a duplicate among them. One thing I have noticed for the last few months is that the brand DOUCCE has made a big appearance. I’ve received three different Doucce products and other than the fragrance of the lipstick each has been a great addition to my cosmetic wardrobe.

The one thing that surprised me this month is that I received two items very similar to my June box. I was a bit put off at first but when I went to use them I realized just how much I liked the additions for July. In June I received a Doucce black liquid eyeliner and this month I received a Frankie Rose gel eyeliner in black. June and July brought me mascaras but they are as different as can be. The Chella Water Resistant mascara from June is great for a daily mascara while the Doucce mascara is wild and crazy (and a great look).

Doucce Volumizer Mascara in black

Doucce Volumizer Mascara in black

DOUCCE VOLUMIZER MASCARA is called PUNK VOLUMIZER MASCARA on the box. I was intrigued and frightened at the same time. At my age the word Punk isn’t in my personal vocabulary but what was the harm of trying this? Doucce says this mascara defines lashes one by one making them thicker and adding spectacular volume. My puny (unpunklike) lashes actually did end up with spectacular volume. I can only imagine what they’d do for someone who had great lashes to begin with. This is NOT a mascara I could wear daily because it eventually flakes on me but when I’m going out at night and just have a few hours, it’s definitely a go. The retail price of this mascara is $24. If I were to return it (which I won’t) Wantable would refund $10.67 towards my next box.

Frankie Rose Limitless Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Midnight

Frankie Rose Limitless Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Midnight

I wear eyeliner every day of my life though I wear brown more than black. I was a little upset with another black eyeliner until I tried FRANKIE ROSE COSMETICS WATERPROOF GEL EYELINER in MIDNIGHT. This gel eyeliner is incredibly smooth and applies like a dream. It’s a rich dark shade that’s smudge proof and waterproof. When I use this I’ll use Reviva Labs Eye Makeup Remover to get it off. It won’t wash off but it’s doesn’t stain. I’m a fan of Frankie Rose Cosmetics so whatever Wantable wants to send me from the brand is wonderful. The eyeliner comes with a small brush (2 1/4 inch closed) that opens to 3 1/2 inches. I prefer my own brush but this is pretty decent. Like the Doucce mascara the price is $24 with my price being $10.67.

Manna Katar Eyeshadow Stick in Spellbound

Manna Katar Eyeshadow Stick in Spellbound

MANNA KADAR EYESHADOW STICK IN SPELLBOUND is the third item and one I was excited to see. If it’s eyeshadow then I want it. What’s not to love about a taupe eyeshadow? Welllllll – it’s sparkle city. But it’s not the kind of sparkle that falls down on the job. Once I put this eyeshadow crayon on everything stays where I put it. It sets quickly and there’s absolutely no fallout. My cheeks and under eyes don’t end up glittery. This $24 eyeshadow is great with the punk look of the mascara so these will be a couple. And I’ll do my eyebrows next time I wear them – oops.

The last item in my box is a SETA Eyeshadow Brush. This brush brand is new to me. I have Tools listed under my Love column in my preferences so I’m always happy to find a brush, especially one for my eyes, inside. This pretty teal brush is firm yet soft and is manmade and costs $18 (return value $8) but I couldn’t find any more information about the company.

This month’s Wantable Cosmetic box has a value of $90 so you’d come out ahead with this $40 box. If you kept all the items then you’d have a $4 credit and next month’s box would be $36. Wantable has been sending out cosmetics for a few years now and they just keep making some great choices. When you are thinking of a subscription, think Wantable. — Marcia

Introducing MANNA Cosmetics – review and swatches

We love to introduce you to new brands on Beauty Info Zone so we’re very excited about MANNA Cosmetics. Their tag line is “WHERE BEAUTY MEETS FUNCTION” and they have accomplished that with the two products being reviewed today: Sheer Glow and Camera Ready.

MANNA Cosmetics is the dream of owner Manna Kadar who believes in keeping beauty simple. She has worked “to find the perfect products to create a makeup regimen that is simple and efficient without sacrificing the fun, femininity and function of cosmetics” as their website teaches us. Her dream and hard work finally came to fruition in January 2012 when she launched her line. She has carefully created six products that will ensure a radiant look that lasts all day long.

Camera Ready is MANNA’s primer. It gives a beautiful, smooth silky finish to your face to prepare it for foundation. I like to really put things to the test when I’m reviewing so I’ve used this with liquid, cream and powder foundation and haven’t had any problems with it balling up or making the foundation difficult to put on.  This has some silicone in it (dimethicone) to help make it as smooth as it is. It’s very lightweight though and doesn’t feel like I have anything on though it does keep my face fresh all day. Plus some of those pesky little lines aren’t quite as visible when I use Camera Ready.

a little dab will do ya’

I did a little happy dance when I saw Sheer Glow for the first time. I’ve always been enamored with highlighters and the ones that tempt me are so expensive. Sheer Glow though is $29 (half the price of what I longed for) and it’s perfect. You can use this alone over or under foundation, you can mix it with foundation, and you can use it anywhere on your body that you want a little shine.

Manna Sheer Glow

ingredient list

I like to take a small pump and mix it with my foundation to create a luminous glow. The more I apply the more I see shimmer in it so that’s why I just use a small pump. I’ve yet to see shimmer on my face with the amount I use (and I examine it carefully in my 10X mirror!!). If I wanted some cleavage emphasis though I’d apply it there with a heavier hand. In the bottle I see a slight pink undertone. When I swatched it on my hand I saw the gold to it. On my face though, it’s just a youthful glow.

Sheer Glow

The other 4 products in MANNA’s signature line look wonderful too: Hi-Def powder, Prime Time for eyeshadows, Transfix for converting shadows into eyeliner and a Lash Primer. Besides these items they also have some beautiful looking color cosmetics.

It’s wonderful to discover a line like MANNA that has quality products at great prices. I’m still doing that little happy dance every time I take these out. I hope you’ll join me in dancing. — Marcia
