Let me entice you in the same way that Mally Beauty enticed me. We were sent 3 of the mally-nificent Evercolor Lip Magnifiers to test out and they are right up my alley. For the month of August Mally has these on sale from $20 to $15 so you don’t want to miss out.

Mally Lip Magnifier

I’m a huge fan of lip crayons. I like the one step use of these. I like something easy, I like something that lasts better than a gloss, yet I like a luminous finish. I like flavorless lip color and a wide range of shades. Mally put all of those into one handy crayon form and she created this in 12 great colors (13 on ulta.com but the sale isn’t there). These are lip plumpers that are a combination of lipstick and gloss.

While Mally Beauty says that the color will last all day, you know that your mileage may vary. It lasts on me for about 2 hours without eating but I’m the type that bites my lips.

At first when I looked at Princess Pink and Pink Petal I thought they’d be very much alike on my lips but they are each distinct. Princess Pink is my favorite, it’s a beautiful light pink that isn’t a nude. It’s cool toned and lively without being too dark. I think it’s the glossiest of the 3 I have. I L.O.V.E. this lip magnifier!

Princess Pink

Pink Petal is appropriately named since it’s a light warm pink. It’s the easiest shade for me to wear since I don’t like to emphasize my small lips.

Frisky Fuchsia is also appropriately named. It is frisky. It shows up! There’s nothing shy about this baby. When I first apply it, it’s too bright but it calms down so that I won’t scare the people that know I like light lips. It’s not a shade I wear often. When Frisky Fuchsia wears away it leaves a stain behind that the other two don’t.

If you are a fan of lip crayons then this is your opportunity to get these non-fragranced, lightly plumping colors for yourself. Your lips won’t plump like a Kardashian’s but they will bring out a better you. — Marcia

3 pretty pink lips from Mally Beauty

I am definitely into pink lips these days and Mally Beauty has some great options. I’ve bought several kits from Mally Beauty on QVC over the years and am a big fan of the line. When Mally Beauty sent the BIZ some products to test I went right for the pinks and here are three of my favorites.

1.  The Ultimate Performance Endless Color Liquid Lipstick in Petal Pink ($27.50) is a great hybrid lipstick/lip gloss/lip balm. It leaves my lips soft and moist, and the color lasts and lasts. It goes on slick and glossy, and after about an hour the shine lessens and lips are left with a beautiful stain. What I really like is that even when the color fades, it does so evenly, so I’m not left with the dreaded ‘ring around the lips’ look. I adore the Petal Pink shade, which is a grown up, deep pink with tons of shine.

2.  High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Pouty Pink ($20)  I love the feel of this lip gloss. It is very emollient without any stickiness whatsoever. This doesn’t have the lasting power of the Ultimate Performance Liquid Lipstick, but it still lasts longer than the usual lip gloss. It has a twist up tube with a brush applicator, and the colors are complex. These pinks make lips look full and lush.

Pouty Pink is a gorgeous warm pink with golden shimmer. This is pretty on its own and wonderful layered over  lip liner or matte lipstick. Since it’s warm, I pair it with a cool-toned pink lipstick for even more depth.

3.  Tender Rose High Shine Liquid Lipstick is a shimmering pink with brown undertones. I think it is absolutely gorgeous. I can’t always wear browns, but this one has easily become a favorite. I think of this as my ‘transition’ shade from summer into fall.

There are so many more shades available on QVC and at Mally’s website, be sure to check them out – I know you will find a perfect pop of pink for you!  – Lisa

Makeup Wars – Pore Relief

This week Makeup Wars has decided to focus on Skin Savers. This could be products for anything from wrinkles, blemishes, dark circles to my choice pore helpers. Even though skincare isn’t always exciting, it will be so interesting to see what the other bloggers have focused on. I can’t wait to read their posts and find ways to save my skin!

Makeup Wars - Pore Relief

Makeup Wars – Pore Relief

One of my problems is the size of my pores. Luckily no one walks around with magnifying glasses or I’d be shunned in society. As a teen I had way too many blackheads. Besides being shy as could be, I felt like this was the bane of my existence. As an adult I realize I’m lucky I had skin that oily back then because it’s kept me younger looking. But the end result is pores galore. My solution is to use products that make them look smaller and to exfoliate my skin a few times a week to keep my pores cleaner. I’ve chosen 5 of the products that I’m using to blur away this imperfection. I forgot about exfoliators so that will just have to be another time.

Kiehl's Micro-Blur Skin Perfector

Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector

KIEHL’S MICRO-BLUR SKIN PERFECTOR* – This is my newest product and I’m not ready to write a full review of it. At first I thought it was only a topical skin smoother but once I started reading about it I realized that this actually a treatment too. I haven’t used it long enough to see how it works over time but I’m enjoying this as my last step before applying foundation. It’s doing a good job in blurring my pores.

Mally Poreless Pore Defender (old packaging)

MALLY EVERCOLOR PORELESS FACE DEFENDER – I’ve mentioned this many times since it’s one of my most used products ever. I’m on my third one and that’s almost gone. I first received it in a QVC kit I bought and before it was gone, I purchased another. I use this over all my face makeup to help look as poreless as possible. The sponge it comes with is wonderful, just be careful not to use too much.

Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish

Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish

PURELY COSMETICS DIAMOND PERFECT FINISH * – I use either the Mally Face Defender or Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish powder every day without fail. Not only does this very finely milled powder set my makeup for an entire day, it also helps blur imperfections. I’m in love with this powder as well as the Pre-Fixx Face Primer I talked about in my indie company review.

Miracle Skin Transformer Vanish

Miracle Skin Transformer Vanish

MIRACLE SKIN TRANSFORMER VANISH* – MST makes many great products and I love discovering them all but I think my favorite is VANISH. I didn’t realize how great this was when I first reviewed it over a year ago, but the more I use it the more I realize just how much I like it. It combines a serum with a primer to produce a gel that helps vanish fine lines and pores. In my original review I mention all the long term benefits. I’m ready for the illusion of porcelain skin with Vanish.

Youngblood Anti-Shine Mattifier

Youngblood Anti-Shine Mattifier

YOUNGBLOOD ANTI-SHINE MATTIFIER – I bought this at IMATS just before it became available to the public because I was so excited to find that one of my favorite companies had come out with a product to not only keep me shine free but also to make those pesky pores look smaller. I apply this before foundation so even though it seems similar to the Mally, it’s placement is better for me during makeup application rather than after. The packaging is great since the sponge is housed under the mattifier so it’s better for travel or taking with.

Rather than my going on for miles of more products tell me which of these you’ve used and any others that you’d recommend. Then join the other bloggers to see what Skin Savers they recommend. — Marcia
