Have you heard that Lush has come out with six brand new Solid Shampoo Bars? A longtime fan of Lush Seanik Shampoo Bar, I was doing a happy dance when they sent the BIZ five of their six new bars to try.
The Lush Solid Shampoo Bars are handmade, environmentally conscious, and perfect for travel. They are also very easy to use if you know the ‘secret’. The first few times I tried Lush solid shampoos and conditioners, I got my long hair all tangled up and it was a rather awkward experience. Then I realized that I needed to get my hair wet then smoothed the bar straight down from crown to ends. The bars lather up nicely and rinse out clean. I highly suggest the Lush Shampoo Bar Tin for safe storage in between shampoos.
The Solid Shampoo Bars are discs of shampoo that are extremely condensed, about 60 to 100 times. In fact, one bar has roughly the same amount of shampoo as three regular plastic bottles of shampoo. This means that when you use a Solid Shampoo Bar, you are doing your part for the environment and reducing the amount of plastic waste.
The six new Solid Shampoo Bars include Brazilliant, Montalbano, Lullaby, Honey I Washed My Hair, Copperhead, and Jason and the Argan Oil. I have all but Jason and the Argan Oil for review today.
Brazilliant ($9.95) features orange oil and andiroba oil from the Brazilian rainforest to both strengthen and condition hair. Whole fresh oranges go into this bright little disc. It leaves my hair extremely smooth with no frizz. What I love the most, though, is the scent…that fabulous orange smells so clean and fresh.
Montalbano ($9.95) is a little hockey puck of lemony goodness. It has three different types of lemon, including lemon juice, lemon peel, and lemon oil. This is the perfect bar for those with oily hair and scalp. Normal haired people will love this for extra clean hair, but if you have dry hair go for Honey I Washed My Hair or Copperhead instead.
Lullaby ($9.95) is a great name for this bar since it is very gentle and the scent is so comforting. Oat milk and almond meal nourish and protect hair, and the lavender and chamomile oils make this smell like a warm memory. This is a great bar for your little ones!
The Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar ($9.95) has that classic ‘toffee drenched in honey’ scent. The honey is a great moisturizer and I find that this bar leaves my hair very soft and bouncy. This is a great choice for those with sensitive scalps.
Copperhead ($11.95) is the coolest looking Solid Shampoo Bar with the epic snake imprint. Impressive! This bar has tons of great ingredients, including cocoa butter, agar agar, seaweed gel, and henna. There is just a small amount of henna – not enough to change hair color, but enough to condition hair. This bar makes my hair straight and glossy with shine. It is the one to choose if you have fine hair or color-treated hair. Since I have both, it makes sense that this is my favorite of all the new bars. The scent is a heavenly mixture of vanilla and coffee…a perfect way to wake up in the morning.

I am in love with an absolute heart throb. No, not Joe Manganiello…he has Sophia Vergara now so I have moved on. My new love is Lush’s Heart Throb Bubbleroon. It does indeed make my heart go pitter-patter with all that seductive red and glittery gold…not to mention the promise of a super sudsy bubble bath that will leave my skin soft, moisturized, and gleaming. $8.95 is a small price to pay for this big heart that makes for four fabulous bubble baths.
Inside this beautiful heart hides tons of shea butter to pamper skin, as well as ylang ylang and geranium oils. This is one heart I am happy to break! I twist it in half, break it apart, then break it into more pieces – four in all – and one piece turns my bubble bath a seductive orangey red with golden shimmer and lots of bubbles. The scent is fabulous, a soft floral that is just beautiful.
Who needs Joe when I have this Heart Throb? Pick this up at Lush for a fabulous Valentine’s Day treat for yourself! – Lisa

Oh yes, the latest wrapped collection from Lush for Valentine’s Day called In Your Dreams ($23.95) is definitely dreamy. It looks like it is sold out online right now, but my local Lush still has some in stock. Read this review then go pick up a few of these while you still can!
I think of Valentine’s Day as a day to show some love to anyone…my little girl is thrilled to get a little something special as a reminder of how much I love her. My husband is more of the ‘show me’ than ‘give me’ type, so I always take the pressure off him and get myself something special too.
I know I can’t go wrong with Lush, because they always do Valentine’s Day right. It’s heaven for bath and body products and In Your Dreams is a flirty, fun, fabulous gift that will thrill any bath lover.
The funky cool wrapping paper envelopes an entire Valentine’s Day story: t’s a prince on a unicorn, coming in for the big kiss!
Unicorn Horn is the most spectacular bubble bar I have ever seen. This big bar has everything: a pastel rainbow of colors, colored candy stars, sparkles, and essential oils. The bath water turns a beautiful silvery pink…exactly what every good unicorn would want. It smells sooo good, like a peppery pink forest. I can’t even begin to guess how many baths you can get out of this big hunk of magic. Pure love in a tub.
The Kiss Lip Gloss is wonderful. I think this is the smoothest pot gloss I have ever tried from Lush. It leaves just a hint of pink sheen on lips along with a wonderful slip. It tastes like yummy almonds and vanilla, and the shea and cupuaçu butters really moisturize. It even has a bit of guarana seed powder to plump up your pucker. This is LE so get it while you can.
Ah, the Prince Charming Shower Gel is delightful. Not only is it pink and shimmery, it smells AMAZING. The fragrance is an intoxicating blend of pomegranate juice, Fair Trade vanilla pod infusion, and almond oil. This LE shower gel definitely a dream come true. By the way, if you need to travel light, Lush shower gels make a great shampoo.
This is one dreamy gift that is going fast, so run to your nearest Lush to pick one up for your sweetie. While you’re at it, pick one up for yourself, because In Your Dreams is a limited edition gift that won’t be around much longer. – Lisa

I look forward to many things in the holiday season, like decorating and eating frosted sugar cookies and the amazing scent of a real pine tree inside the house. Also on my list every year? The fabulous limited edition Lush holiday treats! Here are some favorites that Lush sent us. They make fantastic gifts and each one always puts me right into the holiday spirit.
How could the Star Light Star Bright Luxury Bath Melt ($6.95) be more holiday perfect? It makes for an extremely festive bath, so definitely be prepared for a sparkly version of yourself afterward. Star Light Star Bright is mega-moisturizing with organic shea butter and extra virgin coconut oil, and it smells clean and happy with notes of ginger and lime. The shea butter is magical for dry skin and makes bath water silky and creamy. There is a hidden treat inside that I won’t spoil for you, but it does turn bath water blue shot through with silver glitter.
The Golden Wonder Bath Bomb (6.95) is one of Lush’s most beautiful bath bombs. It looks just like a perfectly wrapped gift begging to be opened. The sweet orange, lime, and cognac oils in it soften skin, and there is a special surprise inside – a little gift just for you! This is a perfect treat for a special bath on Christmas Day.
A wonderful pre-wrapped gift is the Rosy Christmas ($16.95) duo. Already ensconced in pretty paper, it’s totally gift-ready and with two great bath products – Rose Jam Shower Gel and Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner. Rose Jam Shower Gel is limited edition and I am not sure why, since I would buy this any month of the year. It smells amazing, sort of like strawberry jam tempered with lemon, a truly gorgeous scent that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner is a wonderful mixture of cocoa butter, cupuacu butter, almond oil and Argan oils. It’s meant to do for your body what conditioner does for your hair. This is slathered on then rinsed off in the shower, and it makes skin ultra smooth and baby soft. It is particularly great for leg shaving day!
The perfect stocking stuffer or Secret Santa gift is the limited edition Santa Baby Lip Tint ($8.95). The little tin is darling, and the red tint makes lips mistletoe ready. This is a blue-toned red, and WOW is it pigmented! It’s not like a lip balm. Santa Baby Lip Tint is so pigmented that a tiny amount is all that is needed for a party-perfect pucker. Plus it tastes like a cherry Coke.
There are many more fabulous limited edition lovelies available at Lush, and they don’t last long. Make sure a trip to your local Lush store – or the online store – is on your to-do list for the holidays! – Lisa

Yes, your mom does even more than a superhero, yet there’s only one official day of the year to recognize her for it. You might as well go big and get her a bunch of treats that will help her finally relax: the Lush Mum Gift Set (54.95). This gift set comes in a beautiful floral reusable tin. If your mom is like mine, she will love how practical and pretty this gift is.
The Mum Gift Set has seven different floral-scented products, including two bath bombs, three bubble bars, a body lotion and a face moisturizer. It’s everything your mom needs to smell amazing after a bit of pampering.
The Mum is a gift a bathing beauty will use for a long time as there are five different bath options, each of which can be used for multiple baths. There are two bath bombs, the first being the Secret Garden Bath Bomb.
What is so secret about this bath bomb? The inside is stuffed with flower petals. Drop this in the tub for a garden scented volcanic eruption as rose absolute, sweet wild orange, and rosewood oils waft about the room. The top of the water is covered with foamy goodness, while the rose petals, marigold petals, and blue mallow flowers swirl underneath to soften the skin. This one requires some tub cleaning afterward, but your mom will think it’s no problem while she is in the zen state of bliss after a Secret Garden bath.
The pink inhale part fizzes up quickly, the scent of neroli making for a perfectly bright and fruity inhale. The blue exhale part takes its time, and infuses the bath with a more contemplative scent of warm amber and sandlewood. This unique bath bomb is one of Lush’s most popular items, so you can be sure your mom will love it.
The other bathing goodies include three very different bubble bars. The first is the Rose Bubble Bar – could this be any sweeter?
Definitely enough for several baths, this bubble bar has a creamy, delicate rose scent that morphs into frothy bubbles. It is actually the scent of the classic Amandopondo Bubble Bar, but with a beautiful pink color and some sexy shimmer.
The next bubble bar is the one named specifically for moms – The Mum Reusable Bubble Bar.
I just love The Mum , a reusable bubble bar on a stick. It’s a never-ending bubble bath with the best sort of packaging ever. I don’t know why, but everything always seems better when it’s on a stick! Draw your mom a nice warm bath, then swirl this pretty yellow and orange flower around to create tons of bubbles that smell amazing. This year The Mum has the sweet Honey, I Washed the Kids toffee scent that will put a huge smile on her face.
The Mumkin is Lush’s hybrid of a pumpkin and your mom. The Mumkin, just like your mom, is very special – it’s only available around Mother’s Day. Crumble up the Mumkin and hold the pieces under running water to create mounds of velvety bubbles. It smells like raspberry, bergamot, lemon, and violets – pretty amazing. The eyes are chocolate drops, and the stick is a candy stalk. It’s tempting to try to eat this one, but it makes a much better bubble bath than a candy treat!
After bathing it’s time to slather on some body lotion, and Lush has included a nice big tub of Dream Cream just perfect for the job.
Dream Cream is a thick but not greasy body lotion that works for even the most sensitive skin. In fact, it’s terrific for rashy, inflamed skin and chapped hands from too much gardening. It has a lovely lavendar scent that isn’t overpowering.
Finally, faces need moisture too…and Lush Gorgeous will make sure your mom always looks stunning.
Gorgeous has cold pressed and organic oils that make it a mega-moisturizer for your face. It is especially fantastic for those with very dry skin. Ingredients include orange blossom honey, extra virgin olive and wheat germ oils for baby soft skin. This is a deluxe sample size so your mom can try before she buys.
The Mum Gift Set from Lush is the supreme gift for bath-loving moms. Hurry and get one before they are sold out! – Lisa
