Nourish hair with Korres Almond and Linseed Hair Mask

Korres Hair Mask

I can’t believe I am writing this, but sometimes I actually long for the days when my hair was so oily I had to wash it every single day. The constant washing/styling was a pain, but boy, my hair sure was naturally silky soft and shiny back then.

Nowadays…not so much. I still have nice hair but it needs HELP. My ends get so dry and they are prone to splitting, especially when I use heat styling tools. My hair is fine so super heavy treatments can weigh it down. I need a moisturizing treatment that tackles split ends and gives my fine hair some volume and I was hoping to find what I need in the KORRES Almond & Linseed Hair Mask  ($22.50) I was sent.

I really like this mask. It’s different from any other that I’ve tried. It has a light slightly sweet almond scent that dissipates quickly and while the mask is thick it rinses away cleanly. I find that the Almond and Linseed Hair Mask really takes care of split ends. Because it is silicone-free, it doesn’t leave hair slippery soft. It actually gives it some texture and increases volume, which is rather unusual for a conditioning treatment.

If you have dry, damaged hair with split ends, I recommend giving the Korres Almond and Linseed Hair Mask a whirl. While it doesn’t create silky hair, it does give major hydration and really great texture and volume. You can find it online at Sephora and HSN.  – Lisa

Korres Greek Yoghurt Primer Review

Primers are awesome for ensuring a smooth, even application of makeup.  If you have issues with makeup fading after a few hours, primer can be the perfect solution.  But for many, silicones aren’t tolerable…and most primers are full of them.  Korres recently sent us their silicone-free option, Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer ($30), to test.  Can a primer without silicones do the job?

First, let’s talk about packaging.  The box is very attractive and chic with a geometric blue and black floral pattern.  The tube is pretty cool too – it reminds me of a tube of toothpaste.  I don’t know, maybe it’s just so different it appeals to me, but I get a kick out of using this primer every time simply because of the packaging.

Yogurt is the main ingredient mentioned, but while yogurt is a healthy food option I can’t find any studies that specifically say it’s a great topical skin care ingredient.  However, there are plenty of other skin-friendly ingredients in this primer that smooth and nourish skin – all without silicones, parabens, or sulfates.

Korres Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Primer is a white gel that resembles a light moisturizer.  Unlike silicone-based primers that sit on top of the skin this one sinks in, and it does have a scent that smells like yogurt (go figure).

Korres reports that 94% of women they surveyed felt that after using this primer their skin was more hydrated and healthier-looking, and 94% of women saw visible improvements in skin texture and smoothness.  I think this primer is a good choice for combo to oily skin because it doesn’t clog pores.  It’s probably not moisturizing enough for very dry skin.  I find that in terms of preventing my makeup from fading, I get the best results when I apply it after moisturizing and then let it sink in for about 5 minutes before applying foundation.

Overall, this is a very good option for anyone who wants a non-silicone based primer.  It certainly smooths skin and keeps makeup from fading, and the yogurt makes me feel like I am doing something healthy even when I eat nothing but fast food and chocolate all day!

Heaven in a bottle: Korres Jasmine Showergel

Some bath products just scream summer to me and Korres Jasmine Showergel ($19.50) is one of them.

Korres Jasmine Showergel

Korres Jasmine Showergel

Jasmine takes me back to childhood – and in a good way, not in a ‘I remember no one wanted to play with me and that big boy pushed me down into the puddle’ way. Jasmine is all about gentle breezes on the back porch, relaxing on a lazy summer evening, and playing hide and seek in the flowering bushes. As soon as I opened the bottle of Jasmine Showergel that Korres sent, my spirits were lifted and I was completely happy.

Mmmmm, Jasmine!

Mmmmm, Jasmine!

The bottle is huge, so don’t let the $19.50 price tag discourage you from buying. It will last through many, many showers, and the heavenly smell will start your day perfectly every time. The shower gel is terrific; it makes a thick, beautiful foam that gently cleans and moisturizes.  Skin stays soft and moist all day long, and the sweet, warm jasmine scent lightly lingers for a few hours.

Korres Jasmine Showergel is truly one of my favorite shower gels of all time. The shower gel also comes in six other scents:  Vanilla Guava, Fig, Basil Lemon, Japanese Rose, Guava, and Mulberry Vanilla. I urge you to be sure to check out the Jasmine scent, I just know you will agree that it is heaven in a bottle!  – Lisa
