One of the things I love about nail bloggers is that they find the most interesting polishes. I need to win the lottery in order to buy all the polishes that I find on their blogs that I’ve fallen for. One such polish is from KBShimmer, Berried in the Sand. As soon as I saw that on Cosmetic Sanctuary’s blog I was a goner and had to order it.

KBShimmer Berried in the Sand

I make no bones about loving KBShimmer polishes. Their polishes are outstanding in formula and wear. As a holo lover they are a brand I go to first. Berried in the Sand is unique to the site Color4Nails and is exclusive to them. Of course when I ordered I included some other polishes since I didn’t want it to be lonely! Those will be shown at a later date.

KBShimmer Berried in the Sand

KBShimmer Berried in the Sand

Berried in the Sand is described as “Berry pink linear holographic shade”. One of the many things I love about it is the array of colors I see when I’m wearing this. My blogger friend Lisa from Cosmetic Sanctuary was the one that showed me the way. As usual her swatch pictures are first rate and need to be seen plus she has a discount code for Color4Nails.

If you love a cool tone polish, if you love pink or berry, if you love holographic nails, then you’re going to love KBShimmer Berried in the Sand. I see infinitesimal shimmer throughout that makes this exciting to wear in all lights.

Are you a fan of this kind of color or formula??  —  Marcia

KBShimmer dazzles me with Gull, Get Real

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

Having a manicure each week is my biggest indulgence. I love the pampering I get for half an hour a week from my nail tech. A half hour that I try not to think about the world around me and just concentrate on my nails. But what I love even more is when I bring in a polish that knocks my socks off, which is exactly what KB Shimmer‘s summer 2016 polish GULL, GET READY did for me. This is the 5th polish from the summer polishes that KBShimmer sent for Lisa and I to test. Having this to wear and stare at for 7 days – what a delight.

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

I normally ignore polishes with flakes because they can be difficult to remove but I haven’t found that with the two flake polishes I have from KB Shimmer (Gull, Get Real and Garnet from the Birthstone Collection). Yes I’ve had to work harder to remove these but they weren’t impossible at all. With both of them my nail tech gave me some cotton balls and remover knowing I’d need extra time. I was surprised that it only took me a few passes to remove.

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real

But the important thing is the wear and Gull, Get Real wore fabulously for the week. KBShimmer describes this dazzler as a  light, grey toned purple, this lilac like polish sparkles with micro holo and metallic flakes.

This has a medium glitter load with the glitter size going from micro to small. Look at that holo! It’s like bringing fireworks to my nails.

KBShimmer Gull, Get Ready

KBShimmer Gull, Get Ready

KBShimmer Gull, Get Real is everything I love in a polish: metallic, holographic, shiny, and a gorgeous purple. I can’t ask for more for $9.25 except more KBShimmer Polishes!  — Marcia

p.s. Speaking of more KB Shimmer polishes, I just ordered a limited edition one from Color4Nails called Berried in the Sand that I can’t wait to wear and share!

KBShimmer Summer 2016 That’s Nude to Me and Suit the Breeze

kb shimmer logoKBShimmer That's Nude to Me and Suit the BreezeYou probably read Marcia’s review of KBShimmer’s Along for the Tide and Good Reef – if not, check it out HERE pronto! The shimmery awesomeness of KBShimmer continues with That’s Nude to Me and Suit the Breeze.                     press sample

I am absolutely loving That’s Nude to Me. It is a beigey-pink nude that goes the extra mile with a holographic effect in direct sun and a more subtle shimmer in the shade.

This applies like a dream and is a perfect shade for summer, alternating between soft and sweet and truly attention-getting.
I am a little more on the fence with Suit the Breeze.  The color is gorgeous – just look at that fabulous periwinkle blue!

KBShimmer Suit the Breeze

KBShimmer Suit the Breeze

Suit the Breeze is a crelly polish with tiny pink shimmers and violet micro flakes that make this color unique…but the application is tough. I had a hard time getting the polish to lay smooth even with very thin layers.

I think that That’s Nude to Me is an essential shade for this summer. If you are more adventurous and a little more talented with wielding a nail polish applicator, Suit the Breeze is a wonderful summer shade that will complement even the teeniest of bikinis. KBShimmer for Summer 2016: That’s Nude to Me, Gull Get Real, Suit the Breeze, Along for the Tide, Good Reef

How do you pick a nail polish when they are all as gorgeous as KBShimmer’s 2016 Summer Collection? These are all so unique and beautiful that you’ll want them all. Beauty Info Zone was sent 5 polishes to show you just how gorgeous they are and I’m sharing the first two that I’ve worn:

KBShimmer Along for the Tide and Good Reef

KBShimmer Along for the Tide and Good Reef

As much as I love having a blog partner, I hate it when it comes to picking who gets to review products like this from KBShimmer. I want them all but then again so does Lisa. There isn’t a polish among the 5 show above that I don’t want.

GOOD REEF is the polish I picked first to wear. This is the perfect summer shade, one you won’t get tired of wearing, one you can wear everywhere and be admired for.

KBShimmer Good Reef

KBShimmer Good Reef

Good Reef is a light peachy coral shade with teensy shimmer within that glows when you look at it. The light load of shimmer has pink and blue tones that you can see popping in bright light. I never once got tired of it even after 7 days of wear. I needed three thin coats to cover any visible nail line on my longer nails. I didn’t get good shots of the micro glitter in it but it’s there and it’s fabulous. It’s going to look even more amazing if you have a tan.

ALONG FOR THE TIDE is a polish I couldn’t stop taking pictures of. When you look at KBShimmer’s website you’ll see I’m not alone in that as there are 30 people who submitted pictures of their nails wearing this. It looks great on every skintone from pale to dark.

KBShimmer Along for the Tide

Look at the holographic shimmer in it. Totally amazing. You’ll see shifts from pink to violet and from blue to purple. It’s a nail polish that I just want to stare at.

The shimmer in it is micro shimmer and KBShimmer says it’s got a light load of it. The shimmer itself is a holo shimmer. The inky blue base is magnificent on its own but add that shimmer and you’ve got perfection. This covered perfectly in two coats and after 7 days was still going strong. This is what I plan to wear over 4th of July.

I’m always raving about KBShimmer because it’s an astoundingly great brand. I’m never disappointed in the colors. While I’m lucky enough to receive some for review, I also buy the ones I don’t get since I ache for them. Don’t find yourself aching – instead check out KBShimmer and order! You’ll be happy you went ‘along for the tide ride’ and ordered these crazy beautiful polishes.  —  Marcia

KBShimmer spring polishes delight your eyes and nails

KBShimmer Prints Charming, Pool Paradise, Blush Money

KBShimmer Prints Charming, Pool Paradise, Blush Money

KBShimmer always creates a seasonal collection of polishes that are to die for. The polishes for Spring 2016 are mixed with creally, cream, holographics as well as their new formula, Ultra Flairs. It’s hard for me to pick favorites when dealing with KBShimmer since they are all wonderful. The three I’m sharing today were sent for consideration and after using them I just had to buy Peony Pincher (see Lisa’s review) and Purr-fectly Pawsome.

KBShimmer is well known for their crelly polishes that contain a variety of glitters within. What makes these great is that the glitters lie flat so I don’t get obsessed with playing with them and can just enjoy the way they look on my nails.

Pools Paradise is typical of these beautiful crelly polishes. It’s a described as a lightened green leaning aqua. The glitters are neon pink, periwinkle and aqua. They really stand out making this quite unique. The glitter load is light and the sizes are small and medium.

Prints Charming is a great summer polish and will look amazing if you have a tan (real or faux). It needs 3 coats for the white crelly to completely cover and to layer the glitters (fuchsia, turquoise and sapphire) so you get more depth and dimension. It’s rare that I’d recommend a glitter polish for a pedicure but this would look amazing.

The third polish is a favorite of mine: Blush Money. It’s a peachy rose with gold shimmer. It totally glows in bright light whether inside or out. I love a holographic polish and this linear holo is perfect for spring. It contains a medium amount of small glitter. I needed two coats. The manicure lasted a full week and if I didn’t have an appointment would have lasted for another week.

KBShimmer nails spring with Peony Pincher and Smells Like Green Spirit

9d69bba71dde3459a032e7a9eb5a7eafYes, perfect nails do make an imperfect life so much better! In my quest for perfect nails I’ve had acrylics for so many years now that my real nails are paper thin…I had no idea how to get out of the cycle, but thankfully I changed manicurists and my new one had just the solution. He buffed most of the acrylic off then put shellac over top. Every time I go in, more of the acrylic covered nail has grown out without the difficulty of dealing with thin nail beds. The best part about shellac? I can put any nail polish over it and it doesn’t affect the shellac at all! I am so geeked!!

In celebration of my newly perfect nails that don’t require totally wrecked nail beds, I’ve been playing with some of the latest KBShimmer spring shades. I can’t wait to tell you about two that are just perfect for the new season.

Peony Pincher ($9.25) is a stunningly gorgeous pastel pink with lavender undertones. It’s part of KBShimmer’s Ultra Flair line up, and it is FABULOUS.

I adore all of KBShimmer’s holographic nail polishes, but this one has gone right to the top of my ultimate favorites list. The pink/purple linear holographic flashes so many other colors that it’s endlessly fascinating in bright light. People constantly stop and ask me about this shade – so pretty for spring.

KBShimmer Smells Like Green Spirit

If you want something a little more on the funky side, I recommend Smells Like Green Spirit ($9.25). This is part of a new collection of 7 Mega Flame holo shades that feature micro holographic glitters in tinted bases.

KBShimmer Smells Like Green Spirit

Smells Like Green Spirit is just so much fun – deep lime with gold, silver, pink…you name it and you can probably find the color somewhere in this refreshing shade. It’s easy being green with Smells Like Green Spirit – I got full coverage in only one coat. Without a top coat it has a textured finish and if you add Clearly On Top top coat it has a beautiful holographic shine.

Peony Pincher and Smells Like Green Spirit are just two of the gorgeous Spring 2016 Collection from KBShimmer. You’ve got to head on over to www.kbshimmer.com to take a look at this fun collection – KBShimmer definitely nailed it for spring.  – Lisa

Purple is my favorite color which makes having a February birthday even better. I was excited to try the Amethyst Nail Polish and I have to say I was very surprised at how sparkly this is  It takes on different personalities in various lighting, looking darker and more demure in indoor lighting, and totally sparkling and the life of the party in direct lighting.

Like all KBShimmer nail polishes, this wears like iron. Amethyst is a rich red toned purple with metallic flakes and holographic dust for extra sparkle. I found this polish was a little challenging to remove, although you’ve got to stay tuned for my review tomorrow because I’ll be telling you all about an amazing nail polish removal system that makes even the toughest polishes come off easily.

Even though I am a February baby, I love diamonds so I want to also pick up the April Diamond nail polish.  Which KBShimmer birthstone nail polish is yours??  – Lisa
