For November Glossybox was inspired by holiday romance. They thought of gorgeous matte skin that was paired with bold and dramatic shades on the eyes and lips. The whole idea is to indulge a little and be a whole lot girly.
Inside the box are the indulgences that Glossybox sent for review. Not all boxes are the same though so you it’s likely you’ve read reviews that have slightly different products in them.
I really enjoyed opening this box to see how the theme matched the products. I think they did pretty dark good. My box contained 5 items even if you can’t see the eyeshadow in the box.
Emite Makeup Micronized Eye Shadow in Dams (full size and $27) is the darkest of dark shadows. It starts the theme off perfectly since it makes for a bold and dramatic eye. Dams can be used wet or dry so you can use this as an eyeliner or as a shadow. Emite has some beautiful products on their Swedish website.
Nicka K eyeshadow brush ($5.00) is a great brush to use with an eyeshadow this intense. It’s made with quality pony hair and is soft and luxurious feeling. It’s loose enough to pick up the pigment of Dams lightly if that’s what you want or go over the shadow a few times for intensity.
Glossybox’s theme said “gorgeous matte skin” and that’s what you’ll get with the next two products.
Aloe Source Jojoba Radiance Cleansing Polish ($30 for 6.7 oz, this is 1 fl oz.) is one of the nicest cleansers I’ve ever tried from a subscription box. It’s sulfate-free and has very gentle exfoliating with the jojoba microbeads and alpha & beta hydroxy acids. It’s delicious smelling (citrus which is my favorite) and cleanses perfectly.
Now that we’re all cleaned up we need to moisturize and this is where the luxury really comes in. Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Cream would cost you $220 for a full size 2.02 fl oz jar. Instead you can enjoy this beautiful 5 ml jar and think of sitting in your Hollywood home, eating bon bons by the fire and talking to your many admirers. (OK, I got a little carried away but this is a luxury cream after all.)
You’ve got beautiful smokey eyes, fabulously smooth skin and now they want your hair to be just as beautiful. That’s where Mastey Color Protecting Leave-in Oil Treatment comes in. If you haven’t used an oil treatment on your hair, you are missing something. This one is a terrific addition to the box since it contains certified argan oil from Morocco, olive oil, and grape seed extract. While it’s not fragrance free it has a subtle aroma from the natural ingredients. It’s especially great for color-treated hair (raising my hand here) and/or damaged hair. This deluxe sample is over 2 fl oz.
Glossybox has a few things up their sleeves too. Right now they have a Limited Edition Gold Holiday box that will cost you $50 but it’s a $150 value and a great holiday gift. Plus they have their amazing collaboration with Net-A-Porter.com for $40 which has some fabulous items like an Ellis Faas mascara and a Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow duo.
Glossybox did a great job of covering you from your neck on up with the November box. As usual, it’s always a treat to get a Glossybox in the mail. I’m a firm believer in subscription boxes and the thrill of getting new brands, travel size products and a bit of luxury coming my way. Glossybox is an expert at doing those things. Have you subscribed yet to Glossybox? You really need to if you haven’t. — Marcia
