Four favorites from AmLactin for beating dry skin blues!

Four favorites from AmLactin for beating dry skin blues!

Summer is my favorite season for many reasons but I think the biggest one is that my skin stays soft and hydrated since it doesn’t have to deal with dry indoor heat. As soon as the coolness of fall descends I start getting itchy and I know it’s time to break out my heavy hitting body moisturizers. Some of my favorites come from AmLactin.

AmLactin has serious skin relief that is easily available, easy on the pocketbook, and easy to use. Plus, the selection of products is impressive. Here are my top four favorites for beating the dreaded indoor heat.

AmLactin Ultra Smoothing Intensly Hydrating Cream

AmLactin Ultra Smoothing Intensly Hydrating Cream

AmLactin Ultra Smoothing Intensely Hydrating Cream

  1.  AmLactin Ultra Smoothing Intensely Hydrating Cream ($13.80)  This is a magnificent hydrating cream for tackling Keratosis Pilaris, aka ‘KP’. I have these tiny bumps on my upper arms, and nothing gets rid of them like this moisturizing lotion. I love that this is fragrance free, so it doesn’t compete with any other scents I am wearing. It does tingle a bit when I put it on, but that sensation is very mild and short-lived. You can use this anywhere on the body and even the face, according to the packaging, but I save it specifically for my arms. It makes that KP a thing of the past and keeps dry patches from forming.

    AmLactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion

    AmLactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion

    AmLactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion

  2. AmLactin Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion ($14)  AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion is a workhorse body lotion. This is the one to keep next to the sink in every bathroom, the one you want to always have available for guests. It’s pH balanced for skin with 12% lactic acid and it keeps skin beautifully moisturized. It promotes cell exfoliation so all the good stuff is able to penetrate and everyone loves this fragrance-free, gentle moisturizer. Get several bottles so you never run out.

AmLactin Rapid Relief Restoring Lotion + Ceramides

AmLactin Rapid Relief Restoring Lotion + Ceramides

AmLactin Rapid Relief Restoring Lotion + Ceramides

  3. AmLactin Rapid Relief Restoring Lotion + Ceramides ($16) When I get itchy this is what I reach for to get instant relief. Rough, flaky, itchy skin is gone immediately with this miracle cream. This is thicker and more emollient than the other lotions – it takes a while to soak in, but once it does it sure does a fantastic job of taking care of stressed out skin! The bottle says 24 hour relief but I typically apply in the morning after showering and then slather it on again at night before bed during the really cold months just to keep super dry skin at bay.

AmLactin Foot Repair Foot Cream Therapy

AmLactin Foot Repair Foot Cream Therapy

AmLactin Foot Repair Foot Cream Therapy

  4. AmLactin Foot Repair Foot Cream Therapy ($10)  Such a nice foot cream!! While this gives instant relief and immediate results to dry, cracked skin and calluses, it really impresses when you use this regularly. Keep it on your bed stand and a few nights a week put a thin layer on your feet and wear socks as long as you can stand it. I can only keep them on for a few hours before I feel like I am suffocating…am I the only weird one like that? Then I have to take them off and put at least one foot out from under the covers. I know, I’m strange. Anyway, the longer you can keep those socks on, the better your feet get – split and cracked skin heals right up, and calluses smooth and shrink. It’s a beautiful thing!

I love AmLactin for many reasons, but mainly because the products really work and they are very affordable. It’s almost time for that dry indoor heat to kick in, so the next time you are at the drugstore remember to stock up and you’ll be ready – you may even make it through the season without any dry itchy skin at all because you are so prepared!  – Lisa

7th Heaven softens hands and feet with their great masks (giveaway time)

samplesaffiliate links

I sure hope you don’t get tired of me and my obsession with masks (and with having mask giveaways!). I don’t seem to get tired of using masks so I keep sharing them with you. Today I have some totally different masks from 7th Heaven for you. You know I love the variety, convenience, and prices of 7th Heaven masks. Well how about masks for your feet, hands, and fingers? They are as great as they sound.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques, Soften Glove Masks, and Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

I’ve got to start with my favorite of these three, 7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

My feet haven’t felt as soft in months. It’s better than a pedicure to treat my feet and lasts much longer too. If it cut my nails then it would be the perfect item ever. But I’ll forgive it since it makes my feet feel soft and conditioned for about 4 days. Taking a shower doesn’t even take away the effect of the moisturizing of these foot masques.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

The booties are made of a thin plastic outer and a mesh inner which contains the softening ingredients. It has both Shea Butter and Almond Oil to nourish dry skin and help repair cracked heels. It contains Peppermint to refresh your feet as well as Soybean to rehydrate them so you’re left with soft and smooth tootsies.

7th Heaven Soften Sock Masques

These take only 15-20 minutes to use but they are so comfortable (and I can walk in them with my slippers on) that I usually forget and wear them longer. 7th Heaven is a cruelty free company that uses natural ingredients, in this case pressed peppermint, ground shea nuts, and pressed soybeans. When the time is up, remove and massage the lotion onto your feet. These are going to be so perfect in the winter when my feet take a beating. To Walmart I’ll be going to stock up on these!!

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

Similar to the sock masque is the Soften Glove Masque. While wonderful at this time of year, you can imagine what these will do for dry winter hands! My skin becomes chapped easily in the winter so wearing the Glove Masques will be even better when your hands have taken a beating. If your hands are always in water these will be a savior too.

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

With pressed rose petals as one of their main ingredients they are fragranced which makes them not quite perfect for me.

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

7th Heaven Soften Glove Masques

They are very comfortable and actually I could do most of the things I wanted while wearing them for 15-20 minutes though typing is iffy. Like the Soften Sock Masque, massage in the rich cream to keep your hands soft as can be.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques are a much better match for me and as much as I dislike winter weather I’ll be using these to save the skin on my fingers.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

Each package comes with 10 finger masques. What’s great for me is that I can use as many as I need and save the rest for later. My left hand takes more of a beating since I use it more. It’s always drier than my right and my cuticles dry out more since I wash my hands so often. The Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques contain pressed argan seed oil and macadamia oils to help nourish the skin on your fingers and cuticles. It also contains juiced pomegranates for an anti-oxidant rich treat.

7th Heaven Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques

These are a great way to treat yourself before you do/have a manicure too.  After 15 minutes remove them and massage. Aaah what a spa treat. You really want these if you have damaged nails.

All three of these are available at Walmart stores and online for $3.94 a package. You can order them online and pick them up in the store if you want too. Like I said, the foot masques are going to be my besties come cold weather with the finger masques close behind. —  Marcia

Giveaway information: As much as I hate to give any of mine up there is going to be a giveaway for 1 package each of Soften Glove Masques and Strengthen Nail & Cuticle Finger Masques along with 3 other 7th Heaven facial masks. This is open worldwide where permitted through 8/4/17 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. As usual if I can’t find your email subscription or your comment then you are eliminated. We don’t ask much of you on our giveaways but we do insist on that. Good luck and good tips and toes! – M

Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel

Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel

This is a pre-review review on BABY FOOT, the incredible foot exfoliator. The reason it’s a pre-review is that I won’t be able to really review this until I’m heeled from breaking my foot. I was all set to take an hour of relaxation time to try this out when – OOPS  – I fell and ended up with 4 of  5 metatarsal bones broken. Now I just get to look forward to my own experience. For the month of October 20% of the proceeds of the limited edition pink Baby Foot will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Limited Edition for the American Cancer Society

Before I was sent this box though I knew I wanted to try it. Everyone I knew you had used this was amazed by it. One friend told me it’s the only product she’s used that actually did what it said it would do.

Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel

Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel

Backing up let’s talk about what Baby Foot is. This is the original exfoliant foot peel. It contains 17 fruit acids to naturally exfoliate your feet.

Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel ingredients

To use

  • Cleanse your feet, put the plastic booties on each foot.
  • Secure the booties around each ankle with the enclosed tape. It’s recommended to then put a pair of socks over these and remain seated.
  • After one hour remove the plastic booties and wash your feet with soap.
  • The first peeling you’ll see will be within 3-7 days of application. Everyone’s different so if you don’t see results quickly, just wait. They’ll be there and you’ll be amazed.
  • The dead skin cells could peel for up to two weeks depending on how many layers need to be removed.
  • That’s it. One hour, several days, and you’ll have baby soft feet.baby-foot-to-usebaby-foot-after-usebabyfoot-home-01

The reaction I hear from every person I know that has used this has been incredible. They can’t believe how much their feet peeled yet they didn’t have discomfort. Don’t peel the dead cells off but do some gentle massaging so it comes off naturally. Some said it’s kind of gross seeing all that dead skin and all said it was worth it in the end.

Join me in this journey since by the time you get your winnings (or buy this which I hope you will to support the cause) I will hopefully be out of my cast and able to get baby feet going again.  —  Marcia

GIVEAWAY INFORMATION:  There will be 5 winners of a package of BABY FOOT. This is a US only giveaway that is open through 11/13/16 at 11:59. We have two requirements as usual: subscribe via email to Beauty Info Zone’s once daily emails and comment on the giveaway. All information is in the Rafflecopter.

Hitting a grand slam with Erborian, EB5, and ESPA

Baseball on the field. New white ball on green grass

The day I’m writing this the weather turned into spring – 75 degrees with blue skies and sun all day. The perfect day to watch baseball, whether it’s the Detroit Tigers or Little League games. I’ve got 4 products that are also perfect for this kind of day that you’ll want to add to your warm weather routine.

eb5 Age Spot Treatment, eb5 Foot Treatment, ESPA Lip Balm, Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

eb5 Age Spot Treatment, eb5 Foot Treatment, ESPA Lip Balm, Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

ERBORIAN BAMBOO CREME FRAPPEE

This is a very fluffy gel that has the most unique texture. It’s almost like a slush and it’s wonderfully soft. It melts into skin almost immediately in order to moisturize and rehydrate. Sitting outside, even with great sunscreen on, dehydrates your skin. Bamboo Creme Frappee adds that moisture back so you feel comfortable.

Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

Korean skincare is having its moment and Erborian is one of the most highly rated lines. They’ve taken the fiber of bamboo stalks and blended it with bamboo sap to create a waterlock complex, this offers your skin extra moisture. The sap contains amino acid for hydration while the fibers contain proteins and lipids to help maintain your skin’s own moisture.

Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

Erborian Bamboo Creme Frappee

This light green gel is a wonderful picker-upper after a day outside. While it’s meant to be used on your face, it can be used on your body for that refreshing feeling. Like all Korean skincare that I’ve tried, it is fragranced with a sweetness to it. This is sold exclusively at Sephora (and Sephora.com) for $43.

eb5 AGE SPOT TREATMENT and FOOT TREATMENT

eb5 is a new company introduced to me and I’m loving their products as well as their site which is women owned. It’s a pleasure to support a brand run by women that is also free of paraben, fragrance, and gluten, is allergy tested, cruelty free, non-GMO, and vegan. As great as those attributes are it’s the products themselves that will sell you.

eb5 Age Spot Treatment Skin-Discoloration Fade Cream

eb5 Age Spot Treatment Skin-Discoloration Fade Cream

eb5 Age Spot Treatment

eb5 Age Spot Treatment

eb5 Age Spot Treatment Skin-Discoloration Fade Cream is a product you can use day or night on any part of your body that you want to fade sunspots and discoloration. This contains 2% Hydroquinone to help lighten skin and fade the spots. It also contains Argan Oil for hydration and nourishment. 2% Hydroquinone is the highest percentage allowed without a prescription. It’s $24.99 for a big 6 oz tube at Target. I’ve been using this on my arms because I’m really tired of the spots and I’m hoping to see an improvement. Since hands show signs of aging quickly I’m fighting that with this fade cream. I’ve started using it on my upper lip since that always seems darker than the rest of my face and it’s working! I will be using this on the rest of my face once my derm appointments stop.

eb5 Foot Treatment

eb5 Foot Treatment

eb5 Foot Treatment

eb5 Foot Treatment

eb5 Foot Treatment is my foot savior now. This wonderful, slightly minty smelling, cream gently exfoliates, refreshes and soothes my aching feet. I no longer have cracked feet after using this during February and March. I like taking it into the shower with me and applying it while I’m drying off, I also like using it once I get into bed. It contains anti-fungal eucalyptus, tea tree oil, vitamins, and a blend of ingredients (sugar cane, chamomile, and sandalwood). All of those work together to improve the texture of your feet and rejuvenate the monsters they became during the winter. Let me tell you my secret about eb5 Foot Treatment – I use it on my hands too! Oh yes I do. Sometimes my hands become scaly and rough since I wash them constantly. When that happens I reach for this and I find that it works almost instantly. Later I’ll use a hand cream for more softening but eb5 comes first. The Foot Treatment is only $9.99 at Target and well worth every penny.

ESPA MANDARIN LIP BALM

ESPA Mandarin Lip Balm

ESPA Mandarin Lip Balm

For some of us lip balm is a necessity – that includes me. I’m always slathering on lip balm for my dry and aging lips. I love all varieties of it but especially a piece of luxury like the ESPA Mandarin Lip Balm provides ($28). This beautiful small compact contains a balm that is lightly fragranced with a variety of oils and butters (Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil Expressed, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Irvingia Gabonensis Kernel Butter, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil,  Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil).

The formula is 100% natural and delightful to have on my lips. I don’t love that it’s a in a pot but the balm makes up for that inconvenience.

Enriched with a 100% natural formulation, derived from the finest ingredients including Mandarin Essential oil for a sweet citrus flavour and aroma, Wild Mango Butter to condition, soften and smooth, Pomegranate to increase hydration and Rosemary to protect against environmental damage which can lead to premature ageing. Our Mandarin Lip Balm is presented in a beautiful compact complete with integral mirror.

These 4 products have been my Grand Slam delights and I’m glad I finally got around to sharing these with you. Summer, fall, winter, or spring they’ll help you get the ball moving and your skin and lips in their best shape yet. What a way to start the season! — Marcia

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty is a new at home spa experience

look beauty bag

After 5 years plus of blogging we thought we’d tried just about every type of product available but we hadn’t met up with a foot mask before. At least not a foot mask that you actually wear. Look Beauty wants to bring you a spa experience in the privacy of your own home. They began this mission with sheet masks that were developed in Korea, since then they’ve added many more types of masks that you can find at the Look Beauty website, Target, CVS, Amazon, Ricky’s, Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and Boots in the UK. They sent us each a different foot mask for our own spa day and we have to say thank you for that.

LISA’S FEET:

My mask is the feetreat PEDI Exfoliating Foot Mask. I was so intrigued with the concept: foot socks you wear for an hour or so, and within 4 to 7 days all your calluses just peel right off. I am on my feet most of the day, often wearing heels so I definitely have some calluses.

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Exfoliating Foot Mask

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Exfoliating Foot Mask

Trying out this foot mask turned out to be pretty comical for me. I was home alone, wearing sweatpants, and right before I was going to try the masks one of my cats got sick and I (of course) stepped right in it. Sigh. So I took off the now cat vomit covered sweats and cleaned up the mess. I was so excited to try my foot masks that since I had just washed my feet with hot water – the first step for using the masks – I cut open the two packets and slipped my feet inside. Of course then I realized I wasn’t wearing any pants. Stuck in just my undies for at least an hour, I hoped and prayed I didn’t have any unexpected company or delivery men coming to the door!

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty foot masks

The foot masks are inside these plastic booties. They are shoe-like enough to be able to move around while wearing them, but it is rather awkward. Plan to read a book or surf the web while doing this treatment. Cleaning the house or working out aren’t realistic options. After an hour to an hour and a half, just remove the booties and wash feet again (and in my case, finally put some pants on!). Feet look normal….but then in about three days any calluses start to peel off. After about two more days, all my calluses were gone. Resist the urge to peel or pick…they do everything needed on their own.

This is a really cool exfoliating foot mask! If you have calluses, it’s a great treat and it’s pretty fascinating to watch the process. But you might want to plan your foot mask wardrobe a little more carefully than I did!  $9.99 on Amazon

MARCIA’S FEET:

Feetreat Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

My feet aren’t funny, they are just ugly and unsmooth. Well I shouldn’t say unsmooth because Look Beauty’s Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask has come to the rescue to make them baby soft. What makes mine so much easier to use is that it’s just 20 -30 minutes of your time and you feel the effect instantly.

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask isn’t fancy looking. It’s a foot shaped mask that’s loaded with moisturizers and includes ingredients like Shea Butter, Apple Extract and Peppermint.

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

Feetreat Pedi by Look Beauty Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask

I could walk in these but it was a little slippery so I put them on in the bathroom and walked over to my computer and left them on for close to 30 minutes. When I removed the footie I rubbed in the remainder of the moisturizing essence onto my feet and up my leg. I could then go about my day – but the difference was that my feet felt smoother and did for a few days after. It helps with repairing dry feet like mine or for cracked or calloused feet and heels. Intensive Moisturizing Foot Mask by Look Beauty is $9.99 but I haven’t found it online. My CVS only carries the face masks but I’ll keep my eye out for these as I love how my feet felt when I tested this out.

I’m excited about the new masks that Look Beauty is creating and will share with you their eyerepair mask soon. This is a great company that’s making us a little more beautiful for a lot less money.

How to wear heels all night and still have happy feet

The older I get, the less I wear heels.  High heels look fantastic, but I find myself opting for safe, comfortable flats that I know won’t be difficult to wear.  As a result, my feet feel good…but they don’t look good.  So I was definitely intrigued when the BIZ was sent Still Standing Spray ($27.99), a spray that promises to prevent high heel suffering up to stiletto height.
 Still standing
I have been on a mission to find the perfect blue ankle boots this season, and I found these beauties at ShopBop:
My Jasmin Wedge Booties

My Ash Shoes Jasmin Wedge Booties

Jasmin Wedge Booties

Ash Shoes Jasmin Wedge Booties

I am totally in love with them because they are my first covered wedge heel ankle boots, and the navy suede is truly fabulous.  When they arrived, though, I thought wow…these have a higher heel than I thought – can I really do a 4 inch heel for longer than a half hour??
some seriously pointed toes...

some seriously pointed toes…

I had already dealt with the pointy toe by ordering one size up.  But I figured, hey, these are perfect for giving Still Standing Spray a whirl!

Even if you don’t regularly wear heels, I’ll bet you find yourself slipping on some sexy shoes for special occasions – a night out dancing with friends, your niece’s wedding, that first date with the guy from Match.com who looks nothing like his photo – all those times when flats just don’t cut it.  But the pressure put on feet from the unnatural position heels puts them in causes irritation, heat, and swelling.  That inflammation makes shoes feel tight, and within minutes you feel miserable.  Still Standing Spray is preventative – it stops the irritation from happening – but you have to be wearing shoes that fit.  It’s not going to make you wear a size 6 when you are really a size 8!
Still Standing Spray, purse size

Still Standing Spray, purse size

Still Standing 2

Still Standing Spray keeps feet cool and prevents irritation (although it can’t do anything about the ugly Match.com guy).  The ingredients include cooling menthol, and for inflammation and pain it has arnica and aloe.  All the ingredients are from organic plants that have been eco-distilled so they keep their efficacy.  One more ingredient is in the formula – Ilex, which is an anti-inflammatory plus it actually makes the other ingredients more potent.
Still Standing Spray doesn’t numb feet, it makes them so comfy they don’t start hurting in the first place.  An application to bare skin (or on top of thin socks) lasts about three or four hours, so every order includes a great purse-size bottle for any reapplication needs.  The spray is colorless and won’t stain clothes or shoes.

So did it work for me and my kick ass new Jasmin Wedge Booties?  Yup.  I reapplied after 2 1/2 hours just to be sure, but I wore my new boots for five hours and I didn’t limp once.

If you wear heels, you want to give this a try for truly happy feet, even in heels.  Check it out online at www.stillstandingspray.com, on Facebook at facebook.com/stillstandingspray, and on Twitter @byStillStanding.  – Lisa
