Derma E Radiance Toner and Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Luminous, glowy skin…who doesn’t want that? Derma E has two new products that promise lovely, glowing skin and I have to admit I am digging both of them! The Essentials Radiance Toner is a gentle exfoliating toner that perfectly preps the skin for treatment, and the Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil is a total treat for skin.

Derma E Radiance Toner

Essentials Radiance Toner ($14.95) This came at a perfect time for me as I had just run out of toner. I am a huge believer in toner in general – it finishes cleaning the skin and preps it for serums and moisturizers. I was a little hesitant about this one because of the Rosehip…I typically don’t like anything that is rose fragranced in my skin care. But thankfully the scent is very soft and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Derma E Radiance Toner

This toner doesn’t have alcohol so it isn’t drying, but it does exfoliate thanks to the glycolic acid so it leaves skin wonderfully soft and toned. It’s truly lovely stuff and is the perfect prep for the amazing Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil.

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Illuminating Rosehip and Cranberry Face Oil ($16.50) Oh my gosh, I want to just take a bath in this gorgeous oil!! It’s fabulous! This facial oil soaks in quickly and provides tons of moisture, brightening the skin instantly. It has all kinds of pure plant botanicals, essential oils, antioxidants, and fatty acids which means skin looks amazing. In addition to the rosehip and cranberry oils it also has pumpkin seed oil which is really great for skin.

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Your face, neck, and decolletage will look fantastic instantly after smoothing a few drops of this oil in – believe me, you will be thrilled with the results. And the price is fantastic. I use it every morning and every night.

You can find Derma E online and at Ulta, CVS, Meijer, and other major stores. They have tons of great products that are so reasonably priced. I love lots of their stuff, but I really recommend these two items – I hope you will check them out!  – Lisa

Valentina’s Naturals facial oils have changed my skincare routine in a wondrous way

Valentina's Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil and Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil and Perfect Cleansing Oil

Once upon a time in the dark ages of my life the idea of using an oil on my face would have had me running and screaming. It just wasn’t heard of to do that. My skin has gone through all the stages since my youth. I’ve been extremely oily, I’ve had combo skin, I went through adult acne, back to combo, and now I’m settling into dry skin. While I’m not ultra dry I definitely notice a difference. I’m happy to report that I lived through that very oily stage and now I realize that it was a blessing in disguise since it kept wrinkles at bay as I grew older.

If I hadn’t caved and starting using facial oils I don’t think that my skin would be in as good shape as it is now. Therefore when Valentina’s Naturals approached me about trying some of their facial oils I was happy to agree.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil and Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil and Ageproof Facial Oil

There are 4 steps in Valentina’s Naturals skincare regimen: Step 1 is to cleanse, Step 2 is toner, Step 3 is the treatment serum, while Step 4 is moisture. There are several varieties in steps 2 and 4 so that all skin can find the perfect perfects.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Step 1 is cleansing which is in the form of Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil ($18). For all skin types, this cleanser is 100% natural with 4 oils that make up its composition, all of which are organic. It has the most delectable sweet orange fragrance that makes me eager to wash.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

It’s so easy to use and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. It’s almost a shame to move on from this but it’s only step 1. The directions tell us to massage a pumpful onto your face and neck in gentle circles. Towel it off with a warm washcloth. No need to use another cleanser for double cleansing unless you’ve worn very heavy face makeup. I find that between the Perfect Cleansing Oil and a terry washcloth my face is perfectly cleansed.

Next step is to tone and use a serum. I’m in the process of testing a skincare line that has asked me not to use any other products on my skin. As much as I’m seeing a difference with that line what I missed was a richer moisturizer so when I added Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil ($24) my skin cheered me on.

Valentina's Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil is the perfect moisturizer to finish off your skincare regimen especially at night. This is their oil for normal or mature skin. I like to think I’m normal but for sure I know that I have mature skin. But if this doesn’t describe your skin you could pick Balancing Facial Oil for Oily or Combination skin or choose Pure Comfort Facial Oil for Dry or Sensitive Skin. Now it may seem counterproductive to put an oil on oily skin but it actually helps open clogged pores if it has the right oil that is.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil also contains wonderful oils that are good for your skin. The two standouts are Primrose Oil and Jojoba Oil. The reason behind using Primrose Oil is that it’s rich in skin-nourishing Gamma Linoleum Acid, which is often depleted in our skin as we age. Even though I “think” I know my ingredients, I learned this from Valentina’s Naturals: “Jojoba Oil is actually not an oil at all but a natural liquid plant wax which is remarkable for its ability to mimic healthy skin sebum.” I’ve used many jojoba oil products but never saw the explanation put this way.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Since using Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil in particular as well as the Perfect Cleansing Oil my skin is fighting the ravages of what winter was doing to my skin. I’m no longer battling dry spots or flakiness. My skin is feeling more refreshed and ready to take on the day. These two reasonably priced facial oils are ones I can wholeheartedly recommend and will purchase them when empty.

A plethora of Pixi to please #PixiGlow

Pixi Beauty beauties

Pixi Beauty beauties

Any time a box of Pixi by Petra products arrive on my doorstep I know I’m in for a lot of delight. I always look forward to the perfect #PixiGlow with products that will exfoliate, hydrate, and then add a touch of color. Whether the products are old favorites like Pixi Glow Tonic or new ones like Rose Oil Blend and Nourishing Cleansing Balm, there’s always something to add to my routine and this time I am delighted about that.                            samples

The skincare product that Pixi is famous for is GLOW TONIC ($15 for 3.4 fl oz). This is part of their Skintreats line and has become a cult favorite. It’s an exfoliating toner that contains 5% Glycolic Acid, Aloe Vera & Ginseng. Good for all skin types it helps exfoliate for a brighter and more radiant complexion.

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic

Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic

ROSE OIL BLEND is a new to me product. Even if you haven’t indulged in the world of facial oils you will appreciate this one from PIXI SKINTREATS. It has a true rose fragrance and doesn’t smell artificial. The dropper allows you to get the amount you want without compromising the oil. The iconic pixi pink and green bottle is opaque keeping the ingredients safely preserved. I find this to be a little thicker than others so it’s something I’d only use at night. It works great over Glow Tonic giving you the nourishment your skin craves.

You can see from this list of ingredients (Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils ) how this will nourish your skin and help with both elasticity and glow.

PIXI SKINTREATS NOURISHING CLEANSING BALM is a treat for me. I am a lazy soul and don’t usually start my night routine until about 11 p.m. I love the ease of a cleansing balm since I don’t even have to stand to use it. Apply the Nourishing Cleansing Balm on dry skin and you’ll find that the balm magically changes from solid to an oil cleanser. I love massaging my face with this and then using a cleansing wipe or Micellar Water to remove. It leaves my skin freshly cleansed and doesn’t strip my skin of needed moisture. ” It deep cleanses as it nourishes with added sweet almond oil, shea butter, and vitamin E.”

PIXI BY PETRA LIPLIFT MAX ($14) is a product you need to have in your arsenal. I love this glossy lip plumper. While mine is Petal Ice it’s transparent once on your lips. This is a “peptide-infused lip plumper that nourishes as it enhances”. This minty gloss definitely tingles so be aware of that. I can see my lips looking fuller after I apply it. I often wear this alone because I love it that much but it’s fabulous over any lipstick you choose. It gives you shine and plumping without changing the color of your lip product. It not only contains peptides that hydrate and plum but there’s aloe for healing, jojoba for moisturizing and chamomile for soothing. It’s also available in two shades: Honey Sheen and Sheer Rose.

One more and I’m most excited about this. BEAUTY BLUSH DUO + KABUKI ($18). This fabulous set is available in two shades: Peach Honey and Rose Gold. The blush duo has two sides. Mine is Peach Honey which is a peachy nude sheen and gold-beige highlight. (Rose Gold is sheer pink sheen, white gold highlight). Plus it’s packaged with a great little kabuki brush that applies these colors sheerly and make them easy to blend. This is a look in a minute and a package that would be awesome as a stocking stuffer.

Meet your personal skincare coach with Skin Authority Beauty Infusion

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

When I started working with Skin Authority to test out one of their Beauty Infusion oils I didn’t know where to begin. Once seeing the amazing list of products and how they are capable of helping skin there were so many that I could see myself using. I was assigned a personal skin coach to help me find the proper product. By purchasing Skin Authority through their website this free service is available to all clients. Color me impressed.                                    sample

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

My coach Katie asked me about my skin, my skin care concerns, and my current regimen. What I was prescribed is Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado. She felt it would work for me, especially with my morning routine to help me achieve the goals of reducing pigmentation, providing elasticity, improving tone, hydration, and ability to produce collagen.

There are 4 Beauty Infusion products in the collection. Beside Quinoa & Avocado for Hydrating there’s Turmeric & Blueberry for Brightening, Probiotics for Clarifying, Swertia Chirata for Anti-aging, along with Instant Perfection Peel Pads. I could see myself benefiting from any of these.

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

This bottle of concentrated non-fragranced oil is loaded with a formula inspired by the ancient Ayurvedic techniques of using food-based ingredients to produce inner, outer and lasting beauty. This has become a favorite in the almost 2 months that I’ve been using it. It can easily be used in a variety of ways, day or night. There are many days I either don’t leave home or I don’t leave until late in the day. But this Beauty Infusion is on my face from the very beginning of my day. It can be used with or without foundation.

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

While I may not be a big fan of eating Quinoa I’m excited that it helps ward off the signs of aging by boosting collagen production and sealing in moisture. The other main ingredient in this is avocado which I do love to eat. Avocado is used to help soothe, protect, and hydrate skin. It has a high concentration of Omega-3, vitamins, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants.

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

Different ways I’ve used this:

*wash my face in the morning and apply a few drops to my face to pre-moisturize and add hydration

*Mix this with my Vitamin C serum (one drop is more than enough)

*Mix it with moisturizer

*Add a drop into my foundation prior to application

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

skinauthority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado

Skin Authority Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado is so concentrated that this bottle ($49, 1 fl oz) will last me for a year I’m sure. I’ve barely made a dent and I use it daily. Since I’ve been taught the benefits of using the proper oils on my face I haven’t looked back and I’m most excited about this one. The is a cruelty free company that doesn’t add dye, fragrance, or parabens to their products. The first thing I do when I receive or buy a new product is smell it and Beauty Infusion Quinoa & Avocado passed that test with flying colors.

It was not intimidating at all to work with the skin coach. I did mine all online and she emailed me every few weeks to see my opinion and to answer any questions I had. It can be done on the phone too which would especially help if you are a newbie to this kind of product. I’m going to ask about the Instant Perfection Peel Pads since they seem to be gentle enough to use with the other brands of skin care I’m always trying and would make the Beauty Infusion even more efficient. It’s time to get yourself a skin coach with Skin Authority. You won’t regret it.  —  Marcia

Go to bed with a WINK and a SHINE #PinkWink

amalie beauty wink and shine

Today I want to introduce you to the second half of my Amalie Beauty skincare routine. I’ve told you about Amelie Beauty SHINE Organic Brightening Face Oil (reviewed here) previously but want to reiterate what I love about it. This terrific facial oil has not only helped my skin but it’s taught me a big lesson about fragrance. When SHINE and WINK were sent for review and I read about them I was a little, or maybe more than a little, worried about the fragrance of SHINE. But I wanted the effects of this: hydration, nourishment, diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, naturally fade dark spots and blemishes, and end up with a more even skin tone.

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

SHINE Organic Brightening Face Oil has a jasmine fragrance so you’d expect this fragrance-phobe to run the other way but that didn’t happen. I love the scent and find it soothing to use at bedtime. While SHINE can be used morning or night I prefer it at night since it’s a little less absorbant than some facial oils.

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

SHINE is not alone in going to bed with me, WINK is right there too. I delayed writing about WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil for a few reasons. First it sells out so quickly that I wanted to be sure that it was in stock for you to buy. And more important WINK, starting on October 1, 2016, turned pink. You are going to hear a lot of BCA this month and what companies are going to do to help fight for the cure. But no one is going to be as unique and helpful as Amalie Beauty. For every tube of WINK sold they will donate one to a cancer warrior to help them regrow their lashes and brows that have been lost through chemotherapy. #PinkWink #BOGOforthe cure

WINK Eyelash & Eyebrow Enhancer (original box)

WINK Eyelash & Eyebrow Enhancer (original box)

WINK Eyelash & Eyebrow Enhancer #PinkWink

WINK Eyelash & Eyebrow Enhancer #PinkWink

If I could do cartwheels I’d do them after using WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil for the last two months. I use this almost every single night on my eyebrows and about 2 – 3 times a week on my lashline. I never had to go through actual chemotherapy but I was on chemo drugs for almost 2 years. In that time my hair loss was considerable and my eyelashes and brows became skimpy. There’s a lot of self-deprecation when this goes on. I wasn’t feeling well and I hated the way I looked. But by the grace of god I came through it all and went into remission. It’s been over 5 years and my doctor tells me I’m good to go. When I fell two years ago and was in rehab I went through the process again though not due to drugs. Having WINK come into my life has been a savior. While I plucked my eyebrows in between my eyes, I just kept watching my brows get skimpier and skimpier. Now I am back to plucking!!!! Who ever thought that would be an accomplishment? We mostly complain about plucking but WINK has helped to make my brows fuller. I know that they’ll never be back to normal but I’m not getting any younger so that’s typical.

WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil

WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil

This is strictly a bedtime babe for me. Directions say to click the pen 180 degrees to get the product to come out on the brush, apply it to brows and/or your lashline, massage it gently in. That’s it. Since I wear eye makeup every day this would interfere but I can and do use it at bedtime.

Amalie Beauty WINK

Amalie Beauty WINK

Why use this? As you can see above WINK conditions, strengthens, and enhances your eyelash and eyebrow hairs. WINK is a mix of Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 essential fatty acids from a variety of natural nut and seed oils. Studies have been done that have shown that applying essential fatty acids topically can help awaken dormant follicles. It doesn’t promise to regrow hair but personally it has helped me, especially on my eyebrows. A tube should last you 60 days but I’ve used mine longer and can see there’s a lot left in it.

I hope you’ll read the story behind #PinkWink and #BOGOforcure here, I know you’ll be as touched as I am. Do yourself a favor and add this wonderful product to your routine. At the same time you’ll be helping someone who’s in need.  —  Marcia

Amalie Beauty SHINE Brightening Face Oil is one of a kind. This amazing oil is unlike any I’ve tried in the past. If you are a frequent reader of my reviews then you know that I’m phobic about fragrance. Due to decades of severe migraines I ruled out certain things from my life and fragrance was among those. I even made my husband stop wearing his favorite colognes because of my intolerance. I’m starting to have more tolerance for certain fragrances but not all.

Well I’m hear to tell you that SHINE Brightening Face Oil is fragrant and, to my nose, very fragrant. I smell Jasmine in it very strongly. But I like it, I really like it. From day one I didn’t mind the fragrance to the amazement of other bloggers. I find it soothing and delicious. It’s sort of a miracle to me!

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

This amber oil comes in a dark black glass bottle. It’s so rich and full that I’m only able to use this at night. I don’t find that other products agree with it though. I apply this in place of any serums or moisturizers before I go to bed. As someone with sleep problems I love that this doesn’t disturb my sleep, instead it enhances it. I can’t smell it come morning but my face feels so beautifully moisturized that I just want to pet myself.

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

Amalie Beauty Shine Brightening Face Oil

SHINE can help in three ways. It helps with acne blemishes and helps fade the marks they’ve left behind. It’s a wonderful moisturizer, especially for dry skin. It helps to hydrate and nourish thereby diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus it helps brighten your skin in general.

Things to know that make this even better is that Amalie is a cruelty free, vegan company. Most of their ingredients are organic. And it’s made in the USA. Ingredients like Jojoba Oil and Pomegranate Oil are so great for our skin. The Jasmine I mentioned is mixed with Citrus Oils that combine for the incredible fragrance. Feel free to use a small amount on your hair since it can work wonders there too.

Amalie Beauty Shine and Wink

Amalie Beauty Shine and Wink

Amalie Beauty has two products in their repertoire and I’m in love with both. The creators, Megan and Miquel, won a competition in 2014 from Inc. Magazine’s Coolest College Start-up Competition and started Amalie Beauty. I’m so happy to have learned about them. SHINE can be used day or night while WINK is their Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil which I’ll review when it’s back in stock. These two products have made an impact on my nighttime beauty routine that I don’t want to give up. — Marcia
