What polishes do you love for fall?

It’s Top Ten Tuesday time and it’s all about Fall nail polishes, a topic I treasure. I’m a nail polish fanatic even though I can barely paint a straight line. But I am mad about all the fall colors and determined to wear a different one each week. Here are 12 polishes that have been in my rotation lately and all are pure love! top fall nail polishes

There are 4 brands I’ve been concentrating on wearing: Sally Hansen Complete, Color Club Oil Slicks, KBShimmer’s fall collection and Faby Lacquer. I have nothing but love for these babies.

I love this palette for fall. One thing I’m missing is a brown shimmer so I need to start looking through my polishes or else buy one soon. Thanksgiving needs a brown shimmer!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Maasai Red, Midnight Affair, Rose Glass

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Maasai Red, Midnight Affair, Rose Glass

SALLY HANSEN COMPLETE SALON MANICURE worked with the designers of NYFW to create polishes that were just right for the fashions being shown on the runway. Maasai Red was developed with Tracy Reese; Midnight Affair was created for Prabal Gurung this year and Rose Glass was one of three polishes commissioned by Rodarte for their fall fashion show. I’ll have more on these polishes but these are wonderful to apply, great to wear, and the colors are beautifully pigmented. (More to come tonight.)

KBShimmer Soul Deep, Dark & Twisty, Fig-Get About It

I can’t get enough of KBSHIMMER Nail Polish and the Fall 2015 collection is a good example of why this is true. Lisa and I were able to review all 12 shades available and they are fall-abulous. My three favorites are Soul Deep, Dark & Twisty, and Fig-Get About It. These polishes last and last on me and never lose their fabulous shine or color. I once wore a KBShimmer Polish for 8 weeks and other than super long nails the color looked perfect. (I don’t want to wear a color for 8 weeks again which means I don’t want to break my leg again.)

Faby Nail Lacquer in Miss Scarlet I Suppose and Velvet Touch

Faby Nail Lacquer in Miss Scarlet I Suppose and Velvet Touch

FABY NAIL LACQUER isn’t a brand that you see mentioned often which is a shame. These polishes are terrific. They last for an infinitely long time on my nails and the colors stay vibrant. Miss Scarlet I Suppose is a metallic red that will carry me through to the spring. Velvet Touch is a great fall color with its deep purple/burgundy tones. When the winds are blowing Velvet Touch seems just the thing but I like to also put on a coat of something sparkly like KBShimmer Dark & Twisty after a few days to make the sun shine.

COLOR CLUB POLISHES from the OIL SLICK Collection totally grabbed my eye. I had to buy them when I saw them. They are like entertainment because everywhere you go you see a different color. Just walking down the hall last night, wearing It’s Raining Men, I started seeing teal, then navy, then purple. Right now I’m seeing a tealed cobalt which then switched to a royal blurple. These polishes use Trichrom Technology to give them a multi-hued effect. Each is unique. I’ve worn 3 of my 4 and can’t wait to wear Ice Breaker since it’s a grey, teal, dusty blue. Shade shifting at its best.

FABY Nail Lacquer is truly Faby

Faby Nail Lacquer

Faby Nail Lacquer

Today we have a trio of some fabulous polishes by FABY. Originally a polish only found in Italy, FABY has come to the US with over 150 colors to choose from. These long lasting, chip resistant polishes are all big 5 free and quick drying. We think you’re going to love what you see and we hope you’ll seek out these absolutely fabulous FABY Nail Lacquers ($18).

MARCIA’S POLISHES

I would gladly have absconded with all three of the polishes we received but Lisa intervened and took one as her own and I don’t blame her. I still have 2 and have delightfully worn them. Miss Scarlett, I Suppose is a metallic scarlet that I wore for two solid weeks with only minor tip wear. Velvet Touch is a cream polish described as a plush purply-brown.

FABY Miss Scarlett, I Suppose

Miss Scarlett, I Suppose has won a place in my Top 10 polishes of the year. I love a cool red polish and having the shiny metallic finish makes it ideal.

FABY Velvet Touch is a great fall color. When first applied it’s very thin and takes on a reddish purple hue but with the second coat it fills in and burnishes its true beauty.

While it doesn’t have the charisma of Miss Scarlett, it’s a perfect example of a fall polish that will be admired. My second coat was done heavily so that I wouldn’t have to do a third and the color transformed to full coverage easily.

LISA’S POLISH

While Marcia’s polishes are perfect for fall, I think of my happy pink selection as a way of instantly traveling to a gorgeous beach vacation. The Ladies of Leonardo is a bright pink that I am sure most everyone would think is a strange pick for the current season…but it’s a great escape!

I originally thought this was a straight cream polish, but it does have a slight shimmer. I am wearing two thin coats plus a top coat. While this is a bright pink, it’s not Barbie pink so it is adult enough to be great for work…but bright enough to transport me to the Bahamas whenever I need a little stress relief.

With over 150 colors there is no doubt you can find a shade (or twenty!) perfect for any season and any occasion.  Head on over to the Faby website and get lost in the sea of color!

FABY ITALIAN NAIL LACQUER is an exciting nail line that we are thrilled to share with you in today’s Side by Side review. FABY has been reviewed before on Beauty Info Zone and it was loved then and loved now. FABY’s chip-resistant and long-lasting formulas are made with the finest ingredients and created with the latest technology and research. They are never tested on animals and big 5 free.

They’ve created several mini polish collection sets and we were lucky enough to receive two from the Future Faby Collection. The set contains Lotus Flower in Shanghai, Sensual Touch (nude), Nuits des Mysteres, and It’s Not Black, It’s Dark (dark smoky grey).

This is such a Marcia color with its beautiful glimmery blue shade. I absolutely loved my week of wear with this polish. It looks blue, it looks teal, it looks shimmery, it looks holographic. It’s a mystery what it is other than gorgeous.

Same polish just different lighting. This is available in the 4 mini set ($24.50) or individually ($18). Not only did it wear perfectly but it removed with ease and no staining. It’s going to look fabulous on toes this summer as well as on nails all year round. The summer sun is going to especially capture the depth of this polish’s nuances. Total love!

LISA’S NAILS are LOTUS FLOWER IN SHANGHAI

My favorite color is purple, so I love Faby’s description of Lotus Flower in Shanghai:  This beautiful purple brings nothing but good fortune to us!

While my tendency is toward lighter colors for manicures – I am not nearly as adventurous as Marcia! – I do like this one. At first I thought it was more of a winter shade, but have changed my mind since it is lighter on than it appears in the bottle. It has lots of shine and seemed to dry very quickly.

I don’t know, is this really purple? I guess it is a very red-toned purple. It definitely needs two coats for the color to stand out. It has tiny silvery shimmer that gives it depth and complexity.

While it is a tad out of my comfort zone for manicures, this is an excellent pedi shade. Plus, I love the mini bottles…I never get to the bottom of the larger sizes before they dry out.

Which one is more YOU, Lotus Flower in Shanghai or Nuits des Mysteres?

Top Ten red nail polishes

Favorite red nail polishes #beautyinfozone

Favorite red nail polishes #beautyinfozone

It’s Top Ten Tuesday and we’re going red. Each blogger is picking their favorite red items so they could be anything. I’m all about red nails. I love red nail polish and wore it for years and years. I’d wear pink in the summer and red the rest of the year. I’ve expanded horizons but to me there’s nothing like a good red. If it’s metallic, that’s all the better.

In no particular order here are the reds I can wear again and again and never tire of. In the meantime my nail drawers are filled with more reds but I narrowed it down to:

butter LONDON, A-England, FACE Stockholm, Illamasqua, FABY

butter LONDON, A-England, FACE Stockholm, Illamasqua, FABY

1.  butter LONDON Knees Up – this metallic red speaks for itself. It lasts and lasts and shines the entire time. This is one of my very favorite butter LONDON polishes and it’s still available.

2.  a-england Perceval – this is called a ‘splendid and resplendent red’ by a-england and it’s definitely splendid. I am a big fan of a-england polishes and would own them all if I could. This deep ruby has a subtle shimmer that makes it perfect.

3.  FACE Stockholm 128 – This polish was in one of my Wantable subscription boxes and I’ve never been so happy to see a polish. 128 is the perfect red that is ultimately wearable. I love a cool red and this does the job.

4.  Illamasqua Scarab – I haven’t worn this polish in forever and in my mind it was redder than it shows on the wheel. Instead it’s a stunning deep burgundy with subtle shimmer that’s a touch metallic.

5.  FABY Lacquer in Hibiscus Bloom – A little known Italian brand that makes gorgeous polish. This beautiful red has some pink shimmer in it to make it even more special.

6.  Color Me Monthly Just For You – I’m wearing this right now actually because it’s a beautiful metallic red and I can’t resist metallic red shades. CMM is a monthly subscription for $7 a month. When you receive a color like this, you know it’s the right subscription service to belong to. This is currently available for $9 in their Vault and I highly recommend it.

7.  Zoya Lisa – I bought Lisa in one of Zoya’s sales and it was the best choice. I love the shimmer in this because it’s definitely there yet it’s subtle and easy to remove. It’s a cherry red which I especially love in the summer.

8.  ncLA Satin Sheets Velvet Ropes –  What can I say? It’s red, it lasts, it’s cruelty-free, and it’s beautiful.

9.  Pixi Beauty Good Jul! nail polish – A beautiful warmer red than most of my other picks. Pixi makes some fabulous polishes and this one proves it.

10.. Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Red Eye – This is new to me and boy do I love it. I hated to buy the top coat too but now that I’ve had a chance to experience one of the polishes I’ll go back for more. On the Sally Hansen site there are so many beautiful shades of Miracle Gel.

Faby nail polishes

Faby nail polishes

Well Hello FABY. You are a welcome addition to my nail polish life. I was lucky enough to receive these three polishes and they are a pleasure to add to my collection. I received these in the summer and then life happened but I’m glad to introduce you to these beauties at last.faby names

CLEO’S TALISMAN is the kind of polish I go crazy for. This is green, copper and purple depending on the light. It’s metallic and has the most amazing shine to it.

HIBISCUS BLOOM is a fabulous tantalizing red with pink shimmer. I’m a huge fan of red polish and this is one of the prettiest around. The shimmer is small and adds a twinkle to the finish. It’s not a glitter so it removes easily.

THE DANCE OF THE GRACES is the only one I haven’t worn yet. I received it in summer but it was mid fall before I was able to get my nails done and this gorgeous periwinkle cream just didn’t feel right for the season. It will be my first spring polish though.

There are over 200 polishes made by FABY LACQUERS. They’ve covered the gamut with 6 different finishes: metallic, cream, shimmer, sheer, glitter, and frosted. You’ll find every shade you can possibly desire. One of the things I like best about their website is that the colors are accurate and they give you a description of the polishes to let you know what you’ll be ordering.

“With shades that are inspired by things like Italian culture, literature, cinema and fairytales, FABY nail lacquers are an expression of personal style that encourage you to make a statement and live “La Bella Vita” (“The Beautiful Life”).”

These apply beautifully and last me for the full week between manicures. They are free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate, toluene, camphor and other harsh, unnecessary additives. Plus they are cruelty free and never tested on animals.

Add some beauty to your life with FABY Lacquers. I’m certainly glad I was able to say Ciao to these. — Marcia
