Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes – a vacation in a package

You’ve read about Biobliss on Beauty Info Zone before but not much about the Biobliss Under Eye Patch, officially called BIOBLISS Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes. The original Biobliss was a patch for your forehead that was compared to acting like topical botox. They’ve since added more products like this Under Eye Patch. I received a sample package of this for review and gave you a hint in my last Makeup Wars (Spa) article.

Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes

Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes

Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes

Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Eyes

What’s so interesting to me about this Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch is that it is a transdermal system that works in a similar way to a nicotine or estrogen patch. You activate the system by pressing on the circular button within the patch and it safely releases a micro-current with anti-aging ingredients deeper into the skin.

Biobliss Under Eye Patch

the back of the patches

the back of the patches

It’s not a wet system like many I’ve tried and it doesn’t dry down at all. The patch itself is sort of thick and at first I was sure it would be uncomfortable but I was quickly proven wrong. You place it under your eyes and press hard to seal the edges. I don’t know if I was supposed to press the circular button first but I didn’t. Once it was comfortable on my eyes I just pressed on the circle and went off to do my thing. I could comfortably wear my glasses and do just about anything I wanted around my house. You know they are on, they aren’t invisible and you can feel them. But they aren’t uncomfortable.

biobliss ingredients

Biobliss patches contain proven ingredients that are safe and effective. Without boring you here’s a little about each of these:

-Hyaluronan promotes collagen and enhances tissue repair. We naturally produce less of this as we age and our skin isn’t able to hold the same moisture. Being rich in hyaluronan the patch gently infuses it to enhance hydration.

-Peptides stimulate the layers in our skin to increase collagen synthesis. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

-Moroccan Argan fruit extract is the oil from the kernel of the Argan fruit tree. This too has wrinkle reducing effects and has demonstrated its skin tightening results.

-Vitamin B5 is a valuable antioxidant for your body. It’s naturally contained in many food items like eggs, nuts, whole grains, legumes and fish. But it can also be applied topically for absorption by the skin to promote moisture uptake and hydration.

biobliss on bothNow for my results!! If you read my Makeup Wars Spa Day review then you know this was part of my relaxing and wonderful day. The directions say that you can leave the Biobliss Anti-Wrinkle Patch on for 30 minutes but I was so relaxed that I left it on for almost an hour. Since they are one time use only I wanted to get the most out of this as possible. Plus my eyes had been puffy and I was eager to see how they’d help with that problem.

Here’s the before:

Here’s the after:

Right eye after

After

I noticed a big difference when looking in the mirror that entire day and the results lasted me for 3 days. Biobliss recommends using their serum after but I just put on my Fiafini eye cream and it felt wonderful. A set of 4 sells for $72 on the Biobliss website and ships for free. I did see a single sold for $22 on amazon.com if you wanted to try it out. The minute I start fretting about forehead wrinkles I’m going to get the Anti-Wrinkle Patch for Forehead. Have your own spa day and remember to use an eye mask like this Biobliss one. You’ll love how you look and feel! — Marcia

Le Metier’s new Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo had us at first blink

le metier eye maskBeauty Info Zone is no stranger to Le Metier de Beaute. We’ve been in love with the brand since our first shopping foray at Neiman Marcus in Troy, Michigan. We were at the counter that day for absolutely hours and then we came back the following week to get our makeup done. When we learned about their newest product, ULTRA HYDRATION EYE MASK DUO, our hearts were racing. Happily, just before Beauty Week at Neiman, we were each sent a mask to try out.

These masks can be used just about anywhere. They stay in place so that you can go about your daily business. You can even exercise in them as you’ll soon see. You can wear them with or without makeup. They don’t disturb your makeup but boy do they make your eyes look fabulous after use. The sad news is that these are a one time use product, the happy news is that they really work.

Le Metier

Le Metier Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo

First, here’s what Neiman Marcus and Le Metier de Beaute have to tell us about these masks. Then Marcia and Lisa will tell you about their experiences.

Perfectly shaped translucent treatment patches help restore the delicate under eye area with an infusion of moisturizing actives. Featuring patented technology, the seaweed-based mask immediately cools, delivering tuned hydration to deeply quench and refresh tired skin. The perfect amount of moisture packed into one package, ideal for keeping under eyes refreshed and revived at home or on-the-go.

  • Translucent masks seal in one-way hydration to energize and brighten eyes.
  • Seaweed-base immediately delivers a cool, calming sensation with actives to soothe the delicate under eye area.
  • Individual sachets ideal for extended air travel, hotel stays, or boosting moisture after exercise.
  • Translucent patches deliver moisture discretely and effectively.

Marcia’s side:

I used my eye mask after a particularly sleepless night, one of tossing and turning. If the Le Metier de Beaute eye mask could work on refreshing me after a night like that I’d know they were a winner.  I was given some advice by a friend that works for Le Metier so even though it wasn’t in the directions she told me to put them in the refrigerator before using. From reading other people’s experiences with this mask duo I know it’s not necessary to do this but boy was it amazingly revitalizing.

These are so easy to apply, unlike many masks where I’ve had to fight to get them on properly. They felt cool (obviously) and surprisingly lightweight. You can go about your business without even realizing they are on. They are designed to be worn absolutely anywhere, I can picture using them on an airplane before landing so that you would look refreshed.

After my 15 minutes were up I removed the patches and patted the product that was left into my skin (also on the advice of the LMdB employee). My eyes looked refreshed and no one other than my husband (who I woke up half a dozen times during the night) had a clue that I had had a sleepless night.  — Marcia

 Lisa’s side:

I love eye masks because I very often wake up with puffy eyes. I don’t know if it’s because of the way I sleep, or maybe I don’t drink enough water, but it’s definitely more of a problem as I get older.

before

before with my very puffy eyes

I found these little eye masks to be pretty awesome. I didn’t put them in the refrigerator like Marcia did (Marcia, why didn’t you share that fabulous tip with me???) but they still felt extremely cool to the skin. They stick on very nicely.

whilst wearing!

whilst wearing!

I actually put these on, cleaned out my car, then then did some rebounding. A rebounder is a little trampoline that I have in my house – if I watch TV, I make myself jump on the rebounder during the commercials. This way I feel extremely virtuous as I watch RuPaul’s Drag Race or The Soup.

doing my eye mask didn't keep me from rebounding

doing my eye mask didn’t keep me from rebounding

I figured the eye masks would migrate down during my mini- exercise sessions, but they didn’t.  I had a small issue with some hairs sort of sticking, but I just put my hair up in a clip and that problem was solved.

after

after, much less puffy!

I wore my eye masks for about a half hour because I forgot they were on! Afterward, there was a truly noticeable difference. These eye masks work. – Lisa

Ultra Hydration Eye Masks are $150 for a box of 8 sets and would be the perfect item to buy during the upcoming Neiman Marcus Beauty week. Le Metier is doing a competition between bloggers and we’d really appreciate it if you’d tell the Neiman Marcus counter that Marcia or Lisa or Beauty Info Zone sent you. We hope to be able to do a giveaway too for our readers with Le Metier products. Please call or visit the Troy, MI store (248-643-3300 X2104 or X2106) and tell Venus we sent you. No matter where you look into these masks you’ll be doing yourself a favor by doing so, they are wonderful.

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm – desert island worthy

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm

Slowly but surely Algenist is creeping into my heart and pushing other skincare loves aside. This brand has become a favorite with its patented ingredient Alguronic Acid  ” Alguronic Acid®is the tradename for a never-before-seen biotechnology discovery from a team of scientists in San Francisco. Alguronic Acid is a powerful regenerative compound produced by a specific and unique strain of microalgae that functions to protect and regenerate the single-celled organism in the harshest environments and conditions on the planet.”

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm

I’m currently using the Algenist Eye Renewal Balm and finding it meets all my eye care needs. This fragrance-free balm is moisturizing yet never greasy. It sinks into my skin pretty quickly allowing me to apply concealer over it without a problem. I prefer to use this at night to give it time to work its magic. It makes my undereye area feel soft and I notice the lessening of fine lines and crow’s feet. I use it in the morning on the days that I really haven’t gotten much sleep since I need the extra benefit then of getting rid of the puffiness and dark circles that I wake up to.

Algenist Eye Renewal Balm jar

The Algenist Eye Renewal Balm has all sorts of wonderful goodies in it like advanced skin bioactives that include caffeine, vitamin C, cucumber extract as well as alguronic acid.

ingredients

It comes in a .5 oz jar for $65 and it’s worth every penny. Even using this for 2 months I’ve barely made a dent in it. I expect the jar to last me 6-8 months of nightly use.  I’ve purchased much more expensive eye creams/balms from LaMer, Chanel and Estee Lauder and they haven’t come close to the results I see using this Algenist Eye Renewal. I know that there is a lot of controversy about using products in jars but I don’t see how this could be packaged any other way. The balm is so thick and rich that you’d lose half of it squeezing it out of a tube. I either use a small plastic spatula or break off the fuzzy part of a q-tip to get the product out. I can clean the spatula off or just toss the q-tip when done so it isn’t contaminating the product.

Do yourself a favor and start to experience Algenist’s skincare line. I’m obviously not the only person to love this line. This year, Algenist was chosen as the recipient of the Rising Star Award during the QVC Customer Choice Beauty Awards. The Rising Star award honors a new vendor that has launched on QVC and had quickly gathered customer loyalty and support. I’ve got 4 products that I’m using all the time (Targeted Deep Wrinkle Minimizer, Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50, Overnight Restorative Cream and Eye Renewal Balm). Plus I even took this Eye Balm as one of my desert island products, it can get more HG than that!

I’d love to hear about other Algenist products you think I should try. I know there’s more room in my heart for them. — Marcia

Bella Semplice masks make you look so “bella”

Take a guess – which Beauty Info Zone beauty is pictured below?  Is it Marcia?  Or is it Lisa?

Ok, so it was a trick question.  Of course it’s Shirley Eaton from the movie Goldfinger.  But both Marcia and Lisa get covered in gold for this review thanks to Bella Semplice – read on for their ‘golden’ experiences!

Bella Semplice 24k Gold Eye Mask

Bella Semplice 24k Gold Facial Mask

Bella Semplice is a company that specializes in masks. They have created several types of eye masks and facial masks as well as some accompanying skin care. There are 5 types of facial masks: 24k Gold Facial Mask for all skin types; Rose Moisture Mineral Facial Mask for normal to dry skin; Chamomile Soothing Mineral Facial Mask for Sensitive Skin; After Sun Rose Mineral Facial Mask for all skin types and Tea Tree Oil Control Mineral Facial Mask for oily/acne prone skin. Each of those masks is $19.99. The two types of eye masks retail for $6.99. Those are the 24k Gold Under Eye Mask and the Lotus Collagen Under Eye Mask; both of these are for all skin types.

Lisa and Marcia went for the gold when they were offered a mask to try. And we both wanted our favorite type of product: Lisa loves her skin care and Marcia loves anything to do with eyes. At the end of our review you’ll see the ingredients and benefit.

Marcia’s side:

Like the intro said I love anything to do with the eyes. My eyes are my favorite facial feature and the way I can bring out what little artistic ability I have. Therefore given a choice I chose to test the 24k Gold Under Eye Mask from Bella Semplice.

24k Gold Eye Mask in the packet

Bella Semplice 24k Gold Eye Mask label

This is probably the easiest and most soothing of all the eye masks I’ve tried. It went on so easily and fit perfectly under my eyes. I didn’t get too close to my lash line since there’s a fragrance and I was worried about that affecting my eye. When you look at the individually wrapped package for the eye mask you can see it’s surrounded by fluids. These are what keeps it moist and ready to use any time you want.

These applied so easily and felt so good once on. They are extremely soothing because they are moist with skin care ingredients that help stimulate collagen and cell regeneration. The purpose is two-fold: reduce those fine lines and crow’s feet as well as moisturize the skin around your eyes.

I kept them on for the full 30 minutes suggested and they felt comfortable the entire time. I did things like brush my teeth, take my vitamins and had a piece of toast. They never dried down which would make them pull the sensitive skin around the eyes. Instead they stayed moist making me feel as if they were helping reverse the fine lines.

Wearing 24k Gold Eye Mask

Afterwards my eye area was fuller and looked so much more relaxed. I ‘almost’ didn’t feel the need for concealer under my eyes since the dark circles didn’t seem as prominent. I checked periodically during the day and was very pleased with the rested look. The suggested use is 2-3 times a week but this is something I’d save for weekends when I want to look my best.

pre mask left eye

post mask left eye – WOW

Lisa’s side:

I do love skin care, and I want anything that promises to reduce my wrinkles and reverse the signs of aging.  When I opened this up and saw the instructions, I showed it to my husband and said, “Honey, I am wearing this to bed tonight.”

Bella Semplice

He said, “As long as that’s ALL that you are wearing I am fine with it.”

My husband is very, very predictable.

This is a pretty interesting mask because you can use it more than once.  After my first use, I put back in the packaging.  It soaked up more of the liquid product and was ready to go again the next time I wanted to use it.

This mask stimulates collagen production, which plumps your face in a good way.  The collagen reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and gives you a nice glow.  It also helps to even out skin tone and stimulates cell regeneration.

At night after your face is cleansed you just place the mask on, lining it up correctly with your eyes, nose, and mouth.  It sticks to your skin pretty well.  It doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable, but it definitely stays on and doesn’t fall off easily.  I did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and even jumped on my rebounder for a while and this mask stayed on well.  My only problem was that the mask is bigger than my face.  I get it – there are lots of people who have larger faces than me.  All I had to do was trim the excess off the chin and side areas and it held even better for me.  Also, hair will stick to it so it’s better if you wear a headband to keep those strands from sticking to the mask.  The mask itself is weirdly rubbery and feels very cool on – after people get over the shock of seeing you looking like this, all they want to do is touch the mask because it feels so neat.

Bond girl? Or scary Halloween costume?? (Check out how cross-eyed I look!)

Bella Semplice recommends that you keep the mask on for at least 30 minutes, longer than that is even better.  They recommend 2 to 5 hours for the best results, and you can sleep in this mask if you want.  I just couldn’t do it – I am a side sleeper and I knew that I would end up smushing it into my pillow.  So instead I put it on in the evening and wore it though my chores, my blogging, my TV watching, then as I read a bit before bed.  When I took it off, my skin looked and felt GREAT.  And the benefits lasted all through the next day.

The recommended usage is two to three times per week for the most benefit.  You may not look so ‘bella’ whilst wearing the mask, but afterwards it’s totally worth it.

Reviva Labs June Giveaway and Review: Willard Water and Collagen Fibre Eye Pads

Reviva Labs June Giveaway

I was so excited when I learned what the prizes for the June Reviva Labs giveaway were going to be but little did I know that my favorite product of the two would switch. Reviva Labs has generously agreed to send the winner of this giveaway a package of Collagen Fibre Eye Pads w/Myoxinol and also Willard Water Anti-Irritant Gel. I’m a huge fan of the Collagen Fibre Eye Pads so it thrilled me that Beauty Info Zone would get to share a package with one of our “fans”. But then I had the opportunity to not just test Willard Water but put it to use and I fell in love.

Willard Water Anti-Irritant Gelis a thick clear bubbly gel that contains Aloe Vera. It is to be used in so many ways including on scrapes, burns, sunburn, and moisturizer. Willard Water was invented by Dr. John Willard and uses a catalyst altered water that creates an anti-oxidant that soothes burns and irritations caused by rashes, shaving, the sun, etc. This catalyst altered water was combined with Aloe Vera to create this fragrance free gel.

Reviva Labs Willard Water Anti-Irritant Gel

Ingredient list

Willard Water

As readers might know, I have a little grandson. We recently bought him a blow up pool and we were so excited to play with him in it that I totally forgot to put sunscreen on myself. I bought him a shirt that protects to SPF 50, I slathered him with sunscreen, we made sure the water was a comfortable temperature and we bought some toys for him to play in the pool. But I went outside wearing a short sleeve shirt and my hair up and totally neglected my own sun care. Since I’m not an outdoor person and I have very fair skin, I burnt. Not terribly but enough to be uncomfortable. That’s when Willard Water Anti-Irritant Gel went from being a nice product that I’d used already on a cut and used several times as a light nighttime moisturizer, to being a savior. I slathered it on my face and neck where I could already feel the tightness and felt relief right away. I used it several times that night and the next day and had no tell tale redness or burns. It felt terrific – very cooling and refreshing. I’m so happy that I have this goodie for my family and myself. If I see some redness on my little guy when we come in from play I can use this on his skin safely too. It’s great for after shaving too – whether it’s under your arms or on your partner’s beard.

Reviva Labs Collagen-Fibre Eye Pads

The Collagen Fibre Eye Pads contain Myoxinol which is an extract from the Hibiscus flower. The set you’ll receive is considered the refill kit and contains 3 pair of the undereye pads. The magic factor in these pads is the Myoxinol which is a natural ingredient that behaves like Botox. What I do with this is to moisten the skin under my eyes with water and apply the dry pad. Then I take a cotton pad that’s saturated with water and pat it over the pad to make it adhere to my face. It becomes like a gel under your eyes but then starts to harden and shrink down. After about 15 -20 minutes when it’s totally dry I peel it off and apply a light layer of either eye cream or my Reviva Labs Hyaluronic Acid Night Gel.

comes with 3 sets of eye patches

What makes these pads stand out from the rest are #1 the price (this kit sells for $21) and #2 you can use it before going out for a special occasion. You don’t have to wait to look refreshed. It instantly rejuvenates you making your lines diminished. It’s also recommended for dark circles but I think the effect is better for removing puffiness and lines.

An after look without concealer or foundation, lines are relaxed

(Not in this giveaway but really wonderful is the original kit that contains 4 of the eye pads along with Skin Energizing Gel ($38). The Energizing Gel replaces the water and adds in the benefit of Hawaiian seaweed extract. The gel will last longer than the kit so you’ll be able to use it with future refills.)

Can you see why I’m so excited about this giveaway? Two amazing products that I love and that one of you in the US will be able to try out yourself. This giveaway is open until July 7th at 11:59 p.m. EST. You need to use the Rafflecopter to enter. There are two mandatory ways to enter and then some optional ones that you can do over and over. The prizes will be sent directly by Reviva Labs so this is only open to US subscribers.  — Marcia

Take off your makeup the right way with Talika Lash Conditioning Cleanser

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the brand Talika. My first knowledge of the brand was about their eye products, in particular Lipocils. They were the first company that I was aware of that had a lash conditioner. The company was started in 1948 in the ophthalmology department of a Parisian hospital, “Hôpitaux de Paris”.  I found this fascinating and wanted to share this from their website:  A young woman Doctor, named Danielle Roches, develops an anti-bacterial cream with plant extracts to help cure people suffering from face and eyes burns due to war casualties. The results of her cream are astonishing: the lashes of her patients regrow quickly and dramatically. This miracle discovery is the birth of Lipocils, universal “best seller”, that has seduced and helped millions of women thanks to its efficiency.

While the brand has expanded to products for the face and body, I think they are the still best known for their expertise with eye products. My review is for their Lash Conditioning Cleanser. I’ve been using it for the past several weeks and I really do believe that my eyelashes are softer and more conditioned. I didn’t expect that, I just expected to be able to remove my eye makeup easily so this is a bonus.

image from dermstore.com

The Lash Conditioning Cleanser is oil free so you can use it to remove your makeup and then reapply if necessary. It leaves no residue. It can be tissued off if you want. I put one large drop on a DHC Cotton Square to remove my eye makeup. Then I hold it up against my eye for about 10-15 seconds to loosen the color. I rarely have to add more of the cleanser.

Oil Free Lash Conditioning Cleanser

Talika pump

According to Talika this is good even for waterproof mascara. Since I don’t wear waterproof I can’t attest to that but it does a great job removing my regular mascara even if I’ve got quite a few coats on. When I’m wearing a waterproof eyeliner though I’ll take a Q-tip and moisten it with the cleanser and go over the liner on the bottom lashline since it doesn’t seem to get picked up that easily with the cotton square.

Talika

There are two main ingredients.

1)      Cornflower Extract which is a softening ingredient

2)      Silk Proteins to improve the condition of your eyelashes

My favorite thing about Lash Conditioning Cleanser is that it never stings – never ever. I like the pump since I can’t spill anything like I sometimes do with my liquid removers. I also love the clean look and feeling especially on the nights I’m lazy and can’t wait to get into bed. What I don’t love about the cleanser though is the price. $25 for 3.4 oz. is pretty stiff. Luckily it has a lot of benefits since it not only removes your eye makeup but it strengthens and conditions your lashes as well so I’ll forgive them for the price.

Almost all major retailers (Sephora, Nordstrom) and online etailers (beauty.com, blissworld.com, dermstore.com for example) carry Talika. It’s a brand that’s known and trusted. — Marcia
