Last week my blog partner Lisa introduced you to the Meltology Skin line and talked about 4 products. Each of those 4 are being given away along with another item that I’m going to tell you about. Meltology is an interesting line that we were pleased to receive. Five of the products are numbered 1 – 5 so that you know the order to use them in if you are using the entire line. The other two items can be used whenever you prefer. I’ve got #3, #5, and the Self-Heating Spa Facial Mask to tell you about.
MELTOLOGY SKIN ACTIVE CORRECTING SKIN COMPLEX with Beta Glucan #3 ($60)
The Active Correcting Skin Complex is great with or without the Meltology system. It challenges your skin to correct your problems especially if you have blemished, stressed, and/or sensitive skin.
The main ingredient in Active Correcting Skin Complex is 1, 3 Beta Glucans (Nayad™), a patented polysaccharide from the cell walls of Baker’s yeast. Why this is important is that Nayad has been shown to support the skin’s natural ability to correct itself. The job of Nayad reminds me of being a teacher since it challenges your skin to correct problems like sallow or red skin tones. It helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by skin dehyration. This is a terrific lotion too if you have skin procedures like microdermabrasion, or you over exfoliate skin whether physically or chemically. I use it nightly before my moisturizer to keep the challenge my redness.
1, 3 Beta Glucan: Skin Response modifier derived from yeast that challenges skin to correct itself.
Trehalose: Antioxidant cell protector; found in ‘resurrection’ desert plants that bloom after years of dormant dehydration.
Sodium Hyaluronate: Bioactive moisturizer; binds up to 1000 times its weight in water to skin.
Superoxide Dismutase: Powerful biological antioxidant in liposomal form; helps reduce appearance of red skin.
Silver Ear Mushroom: Remarkably hydrating extract that enhances moisture levels in the skin.
I’m all about eye creme and this Meltology Super Firming Eye Creme ($42) is proving to me that it does its job well. I didn’t bring it with me when I was traveling since I wanted only sample sizes and I noticed throughout my entire trip that under my eyes I’d lost the brightness that this eye creme had provided me in the last month. As soon as I got home and used it again, I was looking clear and smooth under my eyes.
The Super Firming Eye Creme is quite hydrating while being lightweight at the same time. I find that my eye area looks more soothed when I’m using this. This is an anti-aging creme which I feel is a necessity for me. It’s recommended to use this all around your eye to firm and lift. I’m not used to using an eye creme above my brows but I like doing it so this has taught me a new trick. An ultra-hydrating blend of Algae and Sea Water smoothes away fine lines to help keep skin moist and plump.
Matrixyl™ 3000 (Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide): Small chain amino acids that help firm, plump and smooth fine liners to visibly correct signs of aging.
Chlorella Vulgaris Extract: A microalgae that helps build firmness.
Pheohydrane (Hydrolyzed Algin, Chlorella Vulgaris and Sea Water): Improves long-term hydration, and revitalizes the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Sea Whip Extract: The strongest sea-derived soothing agent; calms delicate skin in seconds.
MELTOLOGY SKIN SELF-HEATING SPA FACIAL MASK ($31 for a 4 pack)
The Meltology Self-Heating Spa Facial Mask is totally different than any mask I’ve used and I’ve used a lot of masks! First you activate the mask by pouring very warm water into the pouch it comes in; the water is absorbed by the cloth mask within 15-20 seconds. What I didn’t realize the first time I used this though is that you should be applying your moisturizer on your skin first, particularly Revitalize Skin Concentrate. The first time I used the mask I didn’t do that and didn’t get the results I expected. The second and third times I used it, I did moisturize first. That was the key to the mask. The moist heat activates the ingredients in the moisturizer/revitalizer to give you a soothing mask experience. There is NO mess and nothing to drip down your face making this ideal for those of you who avoid masks because of the goo.
As you can see the mask, once ready to use, is soft making it even more soothing. You can use this mask once or twice a week. When you are done your face is moisturized so you don’t need to wash it again. This is a great mask for someone who doesn’t like masks! — Marcia
