Fashionistas rejoice! The Wantable July Accessories Box

My Wantable July Accesorries Box has made me very happy with four summer accessories that totally perk up my warm weather jewelry and hair collection. The selection Wantable sent the BIZ this month is pretty terrific.

For July, all four pieces definitely fit my preferences – I love sunglasses, hair accessories, drop earrings, and statement necklaces. Trends this month include Aztec influences, gold, and turquoise.

The Aubree Sunglasses

The Aubree Sunglasses

The Aubree Sunglasses (retail value $18) have a cool, funky print – pixellated chevron. You can’t go wrong with the wayfarer shape. These are absolute perfection for the beach.

The Valerie Headband

The Valarie Headband (retail value $14) is one of the few classic pieces I have gotten from Wantable. The black band features a gold and rhinestone jeweled accent that shows up beautifully and works with dressy and casual outfits. It’s a headband that looks great with long, loose locks or with a braid or ponytail.

The Carlisle Earrings

The Carlisle Earrings

The Carlisle Earrings (retail value $16) are delightful gold tone drop earrings with faceted turquoise colored stones. Talk about boho heaven! These stunning earrings work great with a loose summer dress and a casual, messy bun.

My favorite item in my Wantable Accessory Boxes tends to always be the necklace and this month is no exception. The Amber Necklace (retail value $42) is dazzling…photos really don’t do it justice. Distressed gold tone tabs are accented with light and dark green jewels. It’s a fashionista’s dream necklace.

The total value for this month’s box is $90…truly a great value for a $36 box. Wantable continues to impress the heck out of me. What accessories did you get in your Wantable subscription box this month?   – Lisa

Darling, you look beautiful! Wantable June Accessories review

As we tumble head first into summer, my Wantable June Accessories Subscription Box assures me that I look beautiful. The great news is the goodies in this box definitely help me get there in style!

My preferences

My preferences

This month, I received three pieces that fit my preferences – one hair accessory, one pair of silver earrings, and one necklace. The inspiration for June was centered around favorite summer activities like festivals, barbecues, and lazy days. I am more of a boho babe than a rebellious rocker and my selections certainly reflect my style.

Bri Headband and Miranda Earrings

Bri Headband

Bri Headband

The Bri Headband (retail value $11) is a twistable diamond wire band covered in a fun, funky print fabric. I love this. Headbands can be too tight giving me a headache, or too loose for my long hair. But this is perfect. I can twist it into any shape, and it holds my hair back with ease. I love the print for summer too – beautiful colors that work at the beach or at the bar.

The Miranda Earrings (retail value $18) are thick, geometric silver earrings with a snap-shut backing.

I love these because my hair doesn’t get stuck in them – earrings with an open enclosure typically are problematic for me. These have a beautiful shape and add class to any outfit. They are a bit heavy for my ear lobes, but I use Lobe Wonder patches and the weight is no issue at all.

My third piece is the Margaery Statement Necklace (retail value $38). I have one word for this:  GORGEOUS.

The Margaery Necklace is three connected strands of multi-tone chains with rhinestones and various beads. It is a truly beautiful necklace that is extremely wearable. It dresses up simple outfits, and is a perfect complement to a summery dress.

Sometimes the accessory boxes have four, five, or even six items, but I am really digging the three quality items that arrived this month. Wantable continues to be one of the very best subscription boxes available – this month’s value is $67 for a $38 box. If you haven’t subscribed yet, I have one question for you:  what in the world are you waiting for???  - Lisa

Wantable Accessories Box for May 2014

I really, really loved my Wantable Accessories Box for April 2014, so much so that I doubted the one for May could ever live up to it. I got my May box and now the question is…is it all that and a bag of chips? Or is it just all that?

Wantable May

This month, the theme is anticipation for days at the beach, hot summer nights, and evening fairs and festivals. Trends are Boho and bold pastels like mint, coral, and turquoise. It all sounds exactly like me…except somehow the pieces didn’t quite add up to what I was hoping for.  I think a huge factor is that out of the four pieces in my box, three of them were earrings. Don’t get me wrong, I love earrings! But I tend to like a wider variety of things…a hair band or a hair clip would have been awesome. And when you consider I put earrings in my ‘Like’ category…well, three pairs off earrings is puzzling to me.

The Lori Earrings (retail value $16) are very pretty silver geometric drops framed with rhinestones. I love these – they show up beautifully against my dark hair.

The Sophie Earrings (retail value $18) are opal-ish rectangular stones shot through with black veining that almost looks like a spider web. While I think these are very pretty, they just aren’t my style…they don’t show up at all with my hair color, so I would have to wear them with some sort of updo. I think, however, they will end up as gift for someone who can pull them off much better than I can.

The Titian Earrings (retail value $20) are olive, tan, and grey faceted stones set in gold tone. They are growing on me…I can see them with a flowy white shirt, skinny jeans and black ankle boots.

The Brooklyn Necklace (retail value $29) is by far my favorite piece this month. It is really gorgeous. It’s a mixture of silvery beads and pendants on a dark metal chain. It is a stunning piece that doesn’t overwhelm my smaller frame, and it’s perfect paired with everything from a v-neck t-shirt to a little black dress.

While I loved the selections for this month (and in particular adore that necklace), I have to say that with so many of the same type of jewelry – 3 pairs of earrings – the Wantable Accessories Box for May is just all that. No bag of chips this month.

However, anything I won’t wear will certainly make for a beautiful gift for one of my beautiful friends. The fun of subscription boxes is in the surprise – and in knowing I won’t always love everything.  When I look at the value – $83 for a box that costs $36 – Wantable is most definitely one of the top subscriptions boxes out there. Even though I didn’t get my ‘bag of chips’ this month, Wantable is still my major highlight each month!  - Lisa

Wantable loves me…and the feeling is mutual. April Accessories Box review

Wantable loves me. You know how I know? Two reasons. One, they put this little note in my April Accessories box:

Wantable April 2

And two, they sent me the best box of accessories I have gotten so far. No kidding.  My most favorite selection ever! Here are my preferences:

My loves, likes, and dislikes

My loves, likes, and dislikes

I love Boho, Mix and Match, necklaces, sunglasses, hair accessories, and silver tone.  I moved a few things I actually love to the dislike list just to mix it up, including watches, scarves, and rings.

Beautiful packaging!

The packaging of the products has evolved into an upscale array of black fabric and velvet bags. Oh, and Wantable had the BEST advice for the month of April!

Wantable April 3

The love that Wantable sent this month starts with the adorable Abbie Earring trio (retails for $14). This is a set of small rhinestone studs, a set of larger rhinestone studs, and set of super cute rhinestone accented owls.

The largest velvet pouch housed the long three strand silver Kourtney Necklace (retails for $21). This is a truly striking trio of crystal, silver, and pearls. The strands are separate so you can wear them individually or together, whatever you are feeling that day.

Cleo Sunglasses

The Cleo Sunglasses (retails for $22) are right on trend for this spring with a tortoise-shell wayfarer shape adorned with gold toned studs. The shape is a little large for my face, but I like them anyway. I can get away with them when I wear my hair big!

All in all the box of love from Wantable has a retail value of $86, so it continues to be one heck of a value. Show yourself a little love and order your Wantable Accessory box today!  - Lisa

Amping up my style with the Wantable March Accessories Box

The March Wantable Accessories Box is inspired by the iconic Marilyn Monroe: Wantable March 14 How can you not love Marilyn? Her words are just perfect for this box, which is all about taking your look to another level with bold styles, stunning colors, and interesting textures. You may love or hate the pieces I got in this month’s Wantable Accessories Box, but I can guarantee none of them will bore you!

Hair bands and earrings

Stasha Headbands and Django Earrings

The Django Earrings (retail value $22) make my boho heart skip a beat. I am crazy about the lava lamp-style stone center with the feathery looking metal pieces. While these are a style I love, they are much more over the top than earrings I usually wear.  I definitely feel like I am ‘amping it up’ a bit when I wear them. Since they are extravagant, I pair them with simple hair and makeup and still feel like a star.

Hair bands

Stasha Headbands

Yay, yay, I literally jumped for joy when I found hair accessories in this box!! Even more exciting, there are actually three different headbands that can be worn together or alone.  The Stasha Headbands (retail value $18) have a variety of textures and colors, and they have a stretchy elastic so they don’t hurt my head by the end of the day.

My selections include a shiny gold metallic headband, a colorful southwestern print headband, and a camel-colored braided faux-leather headband. It’s a fabulous array that ranges from dressy to casual, and I am beyond thrilled that I have three of them to play with.

Ear Cuff

Pearlina Ear Cuff

Ear Cuff

Pearlina Ear Cuff

Ok, so here is where my box veered WAY out of my comfort zone.  At first, the Pearlina Ear Cuff (retail value $10) was a mystery to me. An ear cuff? What is that?? I had to Google ‘ear cuff’, for goodness sake. (Although at least I realized it was an ear cuff…I’ve read some blogger complaints that they received just ONE earring. I guess I am a little cooler than I thought.)  I still don’t really understand how to wear it, although I am fascinated that this edgy piece has the classic combination of gold with pearls. I think this style requires a piercing in the upper cartilage of the ear, which I don’t have…but I am seriously thinking about getting one.  Am I too old for this?  I mean, I saw Helen Mirren twerking, so maybe even though I am in my later 40′s maybe I can get away with it?? I’d love to know everyone’s opinion!

Sunglasses

Hullabaloo Sunglasses

The Hullabaloo Sunglasses (retail value $22) are a little more in my comfort zone, but they are definitely ‘statement’ sunglasses. I absolutely adore a retro look so I am thrilled with these – in fact, this may be my favorite item in the March box. I am smitten with the silver toned metal with black and white and the unexpected southwest print is really cool. These sunglasses are simply stunning when worn with turquoise jewelry.

Did you notice that my March Accessories Box had six different items?  There was so much fun inside!!  And with a retail value of $72, there is plenty of justification for splurging on yourself. I love all of my goodies, although I am still puzzling over the ear cuff.  What do you think, should I take the plunge and get a cartilage ear piercing? I’d love to know what you think!  - Lisa

A beautiful new thing! Wantable February Accessories Box

Wantable’s February Accessories Box is all about the latest from the spring runways. The trends are pretty much the opposite of ‘demure’ – colors range from pastels to neons. There is romance and there is sparkle. Put it all together and it definitely is a beautiful thing!

Wantable February Accessories

Wantable February Accessories

The box Wantable sent me included four items:  two pairs of earrings, a scarf, and a statement necklace. Together, all four pieces retail for a whopping $85, which is a fantastic value considering a subscription is $36 per month. I love my February box, it’s fun and whimsical but practical at the same time. Here is a closer look.

The Berrymore Earrings

The Berrymore Earrings

The Berrymore Earrings (retail value $16) are pretty onyx black cut-out style earrings in a stunning geometric pattern. Just imagine these with a sleek ponytail, thick black eyeliner, and smoking hot red lips. Gorgeous!

The Issey Earrings

The last – but not least! – item in my February Accessories Box is the statement piece, the Josslyn Necklace (retail value $34). When I first saw it I thought….oh my, am I going to wear this necklace or is it going to wear me?? Thankfully, it’s a surprisingly wearable piece that really does make a statement. There is a lot going on here, so it’s essential to pair this with something simple like a little black dress. It’s funky and feminine, and it is exactly on trend. Way to go Wantable!

I am totally loving this month’s box.  It is a terrific mix of playful and practical pieces that are going to get tons of use this spring. If you haven’t checked out Wantable yet, now is the perfect time!  - Lisa
