Glimmering baubles in Your Bijoux Box December Collection!

Your Bijoux Box The December CollectionSometimes everything just works out. A week ago, I found out at the very last moment that my husband and I were invited to a black tie affair. I rarely go to anything black tie, but I had a dress ready thanks to a recent Stitch Fix order – this Maggy Sophia White Floral London Fit and Flare Dress:maggie-london-sophia-white-floral-fit-and-flare-dress
I winterized it with a darling Alice Blue black jacket, also from StitchFix. I just needed the right jewelry.  Lo and behold, my December Collection of the Your Bijoux Box arrived!! Everything inside was exactly what I needed to perfectly accessorize my party dress.                          sample, affiliate links

Your Bijoux Box The December CollectionThe December Collection from Your Bijoux Box is a coordinated set of four pieces that complement almost any outfit, dressy or dressed down. Each monthly box has three jewelry items for women (although this month there were three jewelry items and a pretty scarf!). The boxes are curated by stylists so although these are customized everyone gets the same jewelry each month. A monthly subscription is $36, and there are options for a three-month ($103) or six month ($206) subscription. They ship to the US and Canada.

Here’s what is in December’s box of bling:

Your Bijoux Box The December Collection David & Young Scarf

David & Young Scarf ($30) – I love love love this scarf. The geometric pattern is beautiful, the colors go with everything from a winter coat to a slinky dress and it is super soft and cozy. Awesome.

Deepa Gurnani Beaded Bracelet ($50) – This is a very cool, retro, sort of steam punk/art deco piece that has lots of sparkle and tons of personality. It is handmade by artisans and imagined by former couture beading designer Deepa Gurnani.

Your Bijoux Box The December Collection Juliette DropsYour Bijoux Box The December Collection Juliette Drops

Juliette Drops ($26) – Wow these are stunning. These crystal drop earrings add fun and bling to a maxi dress and will be fantastic to pair with a silky sundress this summer. Total romance.

Your Bijoux Box The December Collection Juliette CollarYour Bijoux Box The December Collection Juliette Collar

Juliette Collar ($38) – My exact words when I pulled this shimmering beauty out of the box: shut the front door!! Freaking fabulous. It was just perfect for my black tie event, but it also looks incredible with a simple white t-shirt (like the Citizens of Humanity Premium Vintage Esmay T-Shirt), skinny jeans (like the Rag + Bone Frayed Skinny Jeans), and black Acne Studio Pistol booties. citizens-of-humanity-vintage-esmay-t-shirtrag-and-bone-frayed-skinny-jeans

Quite honestly, I would have been thrilled if Juliette Collar had been the only piece in the box!

Your Bijoux Box The December CollectionAdd it all up – these four beautiful pieces are worth $154, a fantastic value for a $36 box. You can buy each item separately at Your Bijoux Box if you want…or you can get a single box without the automatically renewing feature. I am loving Your Bijoux Box more and more every month and I hope you decide to get your sparkle delivered too!!  – Lisa

Wantable November 2014 Accessories Subscription Box

Winter is the perfect time to go bold with accessories, and this month’s Wantable Accessories Subscription Box came with four great pieces to perk up my collection.

2014 Wantable November Accessories Subscription Box

The Wantable Accessories Subscription Box is $36 a month, and I typically receive 4 or 5 different selections in each package they send me every month.  I changed up my preferences a bit to go even bolder; here’s what I selected for this month:

Wantable 2014 November Accessories preferences

Not much I don’t like!  I actually think I will bring scarves back into the mix for next month to round out that collection.  This time, I added to my earring collection with a statement pair and a classic pair.  I also received a gorgeous watch and a beautiful bold, long necklace.

Wantable 2014 November Accessories Mariah Earrings 3

The Mariah Earrings ($17) are truly beautiful in person, I don’t think the pictures do them justice.  They are total glam with black and white stones, gold trim, and rhinestones.  Perfect with a simple black cashmere turtleneck sweater, jeans, and black leather boots.

Wantable 2014 November Accessories Cece Earrings

On the other end of the spectrum are the Cece Earrings ($18).  I am astonished at how substantial these pretty hoops are!  This is a fantastic addition to my classic earrings collection.  They complete and add polish to any outfit.

Wantable 2014 November Accessories Mabel Watch

I am beyond happy with the Mabel Watch ($28).  Isn’t it gorgeous??  The tan leather band perfectly complements the large classic face with gold and rhinestone accents.  And the pave rhinestone trim really makes this watch a stunner.  Love it.

Wantable 2014 November Accessories Sloane Necklace

My fourth item is the Sloane Necklace ($32).  This is a unique, geometric long necklace that is wonderful on its own or paired with a simple scarf.  The metallic fringe and gold shield pendant hang from a gunmetal chain, and these mixed metals are right on trend.

Total overall value of my Wantable November Accessories Box is $95.  Pretty terrific for a $36 box, and since I love every item it’s definitely worth it.  At this time of year, another great idea is get a single box for $40 and then gift each piece – if you can part with anything!  Each item comes in a pretty black velvet bag.  Just pop it into a gift bag and the holiday shopping is done without even leaving your house.  Brilliant! – Lisa

Wantable October Accessories Subscription Box

2014 Wantable October Accessories 9
This month’s Wantable Accessories Subscription Box has some wonderfully bold selections!  Not only are there great pieces with mixed metals and natural stones, there’s also an item that I am proud to wear because it supports childhood cancer research.

Headbands of Hope Everest Headband

Wearing my Headbands of Hope headband

Headbands of Hope Everest Headband (retail value $14.85):  This is a very cool fabric stretchy headband that can be worn so many ways.  It works as a classic headband or as more of a headcover.  The best thing about it?  For every headband purchased, one is given to a girl with cancer and $1 is donated to childhood cancer research.

Ayla Earrings

Ayla Earrings

Ayla Earring (retail value $17):  aren’t these awesome?  No one can really tell they are rock goddess skulls unless up close.  These are perfect with a classic, sedate outfit for a subtle rebel touch.

Nicolette Necklace

Nicolette Necklace

Nicolette Necklace (retail value $24):  This is a long double-chained statement necklace with distressed metal, amber stones, and a fringe of chains.  I wear this with a dark solid colored top and play up with the necklace shades in my makeup.

Cate & Chloe Savannah Bar Earrings

Savannah Bar Earrings

Cate & Chloe Savannah Bar Earrings (retail value $54):  Yes.  These earrings alone are worth almost $15 more than the price of the box.  I have long dark hair, so these silver bar earrings are exactly what I need.  They show up when my hair is down, and are so elegant with an updo.  Gorgeous.

All together, my box has a retail value of $109.85.  I swear, every month is better and better.  I can’t wait to see what next month brings!  – Lisa

My loves, likes, and dislikes

I thought it was very interesting that the selections Wantable sent me this month include three pairs of earrings, even though earrings are in my ‘like’ section.    But you know, I have bracelets, watches, and rings all in the ‘dislike’ section, so I guess I have limited categories from which the stylists can pull.  I am going to do some major surgery on my preference list for next month.  Regardless, every piece in my September box is a winner and I am extremely happy with my selections.

Carly Headband

Carly Headband

The Carly Headband (retails for $14) is two beaded strands of alternating pearls and beads on an elastic band.  The band is very comfortable, and the silver beads and pearls show up nicely on my brown hair.  Often I find elastic headbands sort of collapse on me and slide off, but this one stays in place and doesn’t hurt my head.  Color me happy!

Gracie Earrings

Gracie Earrings

The Gracie Earrings (retails for $15) have a dangling trio of shimmery silver hoops.  These are so much prettier in person, photos just don’t do them justice.  They are very delicate but attention-grabbing at the same time.

Faye Earrings

Faye Earrings

The Faye Earrings (retails for $22) are small but thick silver hoops with sparkling rhinestones.  These are very expensive looking, the rhinestones are quite convincing!  This is a perfect pair of classic hoops that will go with anything – definite anchor earrings to strengthen a jewelry assortment.

June Stud Earrings (retails for $41) are truly beautiful studs from Cate & Chloe.  Even the box is to die for!  I am seeing versions of these knotted mesh studs everywhere, and this silver pair is elegant and intriguing.  They are a little heavy for my second piercing, but Lobe Wonder (a miracle product that takes the pressure off ear lobes so heavier earrings hang perfectly) takes care of that.  I love these paired with the Faye Earrings, or with the Gracie Earrings for contrast.

Even though I didn’t have a wide assortment of type of jewelry, the pieces I received are top-notch and in styles I love.  Plus, Wantable is still an amazing value – this $36 subscription box has a retail value of $92.  If you haven’t signed up yet, now is the time for Wantable to pump up your fall accessory wardrobe.  – Lisa

Stunning eco-friendly laser cut jewelry by Joyo

Joyo 2My favorite quote of all time is from architect Frank Lloyd Wright.  He said, “Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities.”  Now those are words to live by!  His architecture inspires me because it is based on patterns found in nature.   I have found that same inspiration in the super chic and exquisitely designed laser cut jewelry from Joyo which was sent to us for review.

Joyo founder and creator Jenn Liddiard

Joyo founder and creator Jenn Liddiard

The creator behind Joyo is the gorgeous artist Jenn Liddiard.  Jenn makes every single piece of her jewelry collection by hand.  That means she creates the patterns, laser cuts the wood, then sands, oils, and assembles every single accessory.  You can feel the love in this jewelry – it is palpable.

The designs are based on geometrical and natural patterns, and she uses natural materials like wood.  Check out the Baroque Earrings ($45).

The Baroque Earrings have a pattern based on the ornate detail found in late 17th and 18th century architecture.  My pair has 14k gold filled ear wires; sterling silver is also an option.  There are two different wood type options as well, walnut and birch wood.

The length is 2.75″ with a 2″ drop and 1.5″ width.  The laser cut of these is fascinating, and the earrings are feather light.  They truly are works of art.

The stunning Baroque Earrings are just a small peek at the laser-cut jewelry Joyo offers.  There are many other earring designs, as well as laser cut, eco-friendly bracelets and necklaces that will become the focal point of any outfit.  Joyo Jewelry can be found in boutiques and is also available at the online store.  – Lisa

Transitioning into fall with the Wantable August Accessories Box

For August,Wantable paired up with Rachel Weiland for picks that transition from the dog days of summer into the cooler autumn months. Trends include hard metallics, sparkling beads, and vintage flair. Wantable sent a great box that is all about layering pieces, pairing up different lengths to play with focal points and create unique looks.

Wantable August Accessories Box

Wantable August Accessories Box

My August Accessories Box has four – or five, really, since it’s two pairs of earrings – items with a total retail value of $93. That’s beyond awesome for a $36 subscription price, and I am extremely happy with every piece (although the sunglasses are on the large side for my face.)

My favorite items are the Cece Earrings (retails for $12). I am head over heels in love with this pair of posts.

I am astounded that these only have a $12 retail value because they have a very expensive look and feel. The hamsa symbol earrings have pale blue stones. If you aren’t familiar with the symbol, it’s an ancient symbol for magical protection. Since I like to always have all bases covered, I am totally down with that. The hamsa posts are paired with pretty peach stone posts – they look terrific together.

The Karleigh Scarf

The Karleigh Scarf

The Karleigh Scarf ($18 value) is a lightweight infinity scarf. It has a feather print and beautiful shades of black, tan, blue, and taupe. This is a great scarf that is light enough for summer but will also work until the snow flies.

The most expensive item in my August box is the Ettika Triple Faceted Ring Bead Chain Necklace (retail value $45). It has a short gold chain with three faceted beads. This is a classic yet unique necklace that is a great staple for any accessory wardrobe. It’s great on its own or layered with one or two longer necklaces.

The Bryn Sunglasses (retail value $18) are the final item in my August box.

These sunglasses have a really interesting black and brown pattern on the frames – you can see the that the pattern sort of morphs from spots into stripes. These are definitely ‘Jackie O’ style frames with major coverage. While they really are big for my face, these are the sunglasses I will reach for whenever I have a headache and have to go out in the sun.

I like the little gold fleur-de-lis on the stem along with the earrings. In fact, this a box of accessories that can all be worn at the same time.

I am definitely happy with my Wantable August Accessories Box, the best value I have received so far at $93. If you love accessories or need to build up your wardrobe, I have no doubt that this is the best subscription box out there.  – Lisa

The Aubree Sunglasses

The Aubree Sunglasses (retail value $18) have a cool, funky print – pixellated chevron. You can’t go wrong with the wayfarer shape. These are absolute perfection for the beach.

The Valerie Headband

The Valarie Headband (retail value $14) is one of the few classic pieces I have gotten from Wantable. The black band features a gold and rhinestone jeweled accent that shows up beautifully and works with dressy and casual outfits. It’s a headband that looks great with long, loose locks or with a braid or ponytail.

The Carlisle Earrings

The Carlisle Earrings

The Carlisle Earrings (retail value $16) are delightful gold tone drop earrings with faceted turquoise colored stones. Talk about boho heaven! These stunning earrings work great with a loose summer dress and a casual, messy bun.

My favorite item in my Wantable Accessory Boxes tends to always be the necklace and this month is no exception. The Amber Necklace (retail value $42) is dazzling…photos really don’t do it justice. Distressed gold tone tabs are accented with light and dark green jewels. It’s a fashionista’s dream necklace.

The total value for this month’s box is $90…truly a great value for a $36 box. Wantable continues to impress the heck out of me. What accessories did you get in your Wantable subscription box this month?   – Lisa
