Cristophe Volumizing Hair Care – get full volume hair and a free conditioner, too

I inherited many things from my beloved grandmother. I inherited her work ethic, her heightened intuition, and her somewhat naughty sense of humor. I inherited her love for gossip, unfortunately. I also was the happy – and unhappy – recipient of some physical attributes. I have her large chest and small waist (pretty happy about that).  But I also got her bunions and super fine hair (not so happy about those!). I had bunion surgery and took care of that problem…but the fine hair? I am on a constant quest to improve that particular inheritance. So of course I was happy when Cristophe sent the BIZ their Volumizing products to test.

Cristophe

Cristophe Volumizing Shampoo, Conditioner, and Mousse

Used together these three products promise thicker, fuller looking hair even if your hair is very fine. This is not a system that gives you soft, sleek hair – smoothing the hair shaft will decrease volume, not increase it. Your hair many not feel super soft, but it will look much thicker and fuller.

Cristophe Volumizing Shampoo

Cristophe Volumizing Shampoo

Cristophe Volumizing Conditioner

Cristophe Volumizing Conditioner

Considering Cristophe is a high-end salon in Beverly Hills, the price point on these products is pretty fantastic. The Volumizing Shampoo ($8.99) has a really nice sort of spicy unisex scent that doesn’t linger. Ingredients include UV protectors to keep hair safe from sun rays, Creatine for hair strength and elasticity, and Vitamin C for shine. The Volumizing Conditioner ($8.99) has the same scent as the shampoo. While it moisturizes, it doesn’t flatten hair. It has thickening ingredients plus UV protectors, Creatine, and Vitamin C.

Cristophe Volumizing Mousse

Volumizing Mousse

Volumizing Mousse

The Volumizing Mousse ($10.99) is a wonderfully creamy, spongy mousse that really thickens and increases hair volume. Like the other volumizing products, it has UV protectors, Creatine, and Vitamin C. I find that I need a small amount that I apply mostly to my root area when my hair is damp to get the best volume. If your hair is extremely fine, you will want to put more on the length of your hair. However know that this will make your hair less soft – which is an OK exchange for more volume, in my opinion. Another quick tip:  use a round brush when blow drying and really focus that heat on the roots.

Besides the awesome possibility of full volume hair, I have even more great news:  Cristophe has a coupon code just for BIZ readers! For the next month, if you buy a shampoo from the Cristophe website you can also get a conditioner for free!! Enter code BIZloveCP in the Apply Code box. This will take $8.99 off the price of the conditioner.

*Please note, this code is only valid on Cristophe Professional products,  not on DR Volume Extend.*

So what are you waiting for? Get on over to the Cristophe website and get yourself some high volume – and affordable! – gorgeous locks.  - Lisa

Fantastic drugstore hair care: Cristophe Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner

I test a lot of hair products, and a lesson I have learned is not to be a hair product snob. I find amazing products that cost well over $100, but I also find fantastic products that are under $15. I am so very happy that Cristophe sent the BIZ samples to review, because it has taught me to stop my snobbish ways.

I previously reviewed Cristophe’s Glossing Shampoo, and I loved it so much it even made my ‘Best of 2012′ list.  Today I am here to tell you about the Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, both of which are available at drugstores like CVS.

Cristophe

Cristophe Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner

The Hydrating Shampoo ($12, although I could find it for even less at online drugstores) is a beautiful purple shampoo that puts moisture back into dry hair. It has UV protection for your hair, Creatine to strengthen hair, and Vitamin C to make hair super shiny. Oh and all Cristophe products are cruelty-free, which is a terrific bonus.

It pairs beautifully with the Hydrating Conditioner ($13, but again I could find even better prices online). The conditioner is also purple – my favorite color, and it makes me happy to see purple hair products…ok I know, I’m weird. But part of living a happy life is to savor every moment, so purple products that make me happy are a bonus!! The Hydrating Conditioner drenches hair with even more moisture, and like the shampoo it has UV protection, Creatine, and Vitamin C.  These two products leave my hair soft, shiny, and full of body.

We test a whole lot of products at the BIZ, so it usually takes forever for me to actually finish a product. But I have used every drop of all of my Cristophe products and they are definite repurchases. Cristophe has changed me into a drugstore devotee!  – Lisa

Biggest personal influences in 2012

soft waves

Soft waves?  No problem!

Verge One – I would say that two lines dramatically changed my daily appearance in 2012.  The first is Verge One.  Their ‘texture wands’ have completely changed the way I wear my hair.  Now pretty much every day I am curly or wavy, and I love it.  The texture wands are truly fabulous finds for which I am extremely grateful!

More lashes = love!

More lashes = love!

Novalash – the second line that dramatically changed my daily appearance in 2012 is Novalash.  I had what I thought were nicely dramatic eyelashes thanks to Latisse…and then I found Novalash.  WOW.  My lashes are huge and beautiful and easy to care for every single day.  This is a ‘get down on my knees and say THANK YOU‘ find!!

Cristophe Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner: great first AND second day hair

My  hair is colored (thank you genetics…I’ve had to get rid of gray since I was 17 years old!) so to keep my color from fading I wash my hair every other day.  Less frequent washing definitely helps keep color vibrant – but it can also result in not-so-fabulous second day hair.  I am always on the lookout for shampoo and conditioner that gives me great first and second day hair.

Cristophe

Enter Cristophe Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner.  I’ll bet you have heard of Cristophe before – he is one of the most famous stylists in America.  He started in Beverly Hills in 1985 and has been a huge success ever since.  He has several different salons in addition to the fabulous Beverly Hills location, and his product line is now available both online and in drug stores like CVS.

Cristophe Glossing Shampoo

I really, really liked the two products I tried in the Glossing line.  The Cristophe Glossing Shampoo ($12) has both Argan and Monoi oils in it, so it makes your hair soft and frizz-free.  It’s designed to make your hair look very glossy and shiny, and it definitely delivers.

Cristophe Glossing Conditioner

Because my hair is pretty thick, I like to do a quick wash with a little shampoo first then follow with a second lather to really clean my hair.  After that, I smooth on some Cristophe Glossing Conditioner ($13) and let it soak in while I finish showering, then I rinse really well.  The conditioner also has Argan and Monoi oils in it, as well as UV protection which is nice especially in the summer when I am outside much more often.  The shampoo and conditioner together make my hair soft and shiny with lots of great body.

What I like even more is that my second day hair is great!  I don’t get that flatness or that dull look that often happens on the second day.  I love this shampoo and conditioner combination and it’s in heavy rotation in my shower.

Can you tell it’s second day hair?

The next time you are shopping for shampoo and conditioner, I highly recommend you give this combo a try – I find it’s excellent, especially if you are an every-other-day shampooer like me.  – Lisa
