Seven Sisters from Color Me Monthly is gorgeousness!

Color Me Monthly January 2014 - Seven Sisters

Color Me Monthly January 2014 – Seven Sisters

I opened the box and there it was – the most beautiful twinkly blue nail polish that took my breath away. Color Me Monthly not only did it again but they topped themselves with this color. I always look forward to that small box arriving in my mail from Color Me Monthly for review. But little did I know that January’s polish would be like allowing the sky to open and rain down tiny little stars.

Seven Sisters from Color Me Monthly

Seven Sisters from Color Me Monthly

I’m a huge fan of blue polish so there was no doubt that I’d like this applied. But even my nail tech, a person who works with polish all day 5 days a week, was amazed when she saw this. It’s the first time ever that she said, as she was applying it, “this is frickin’ gorgeous”. I tend to surprise her each week with different polishes so she’s seen a lot from me.

As beautiful as this is, it’s truly the wear that counts most. I wear polishes for a full week and the ones I’m going to wear over again are the ones that will look as good on day 7 as on day 1.

And wear well it did. These pictures were taken midweek and there’s no wear and tear, there’s no chipping, there’s no fading. There’s just a gorgeous bright navy with microscopic shimmer to make your nails glow.color me monthly jan 14 card

Color Me Monthly September and The Vault

Subscription boxes are a funny thing. You either love them or you just don’t want to take a chance on the unknown. I don’t get a lot of surprises in my life anymore (for which I’m thankful) so having the surprise of a subscription box or more brings me a thrill.

Color Me Monthly, September 2013

Color Me Monthly, September 2013

Color Me Monthly is a subscription service for nails that we’ve reviewed quite often on Beauty Info Zone. Every time I talk to the owner I tell her that I think it would be wonderful if readers could see what the colors are that we’ve gotten in our monthly box and then if they fall for it, go and buy it. Well she took my advice (and probably many others too) and now has The Vault. A subscription for Color Me Monthly is $7 for one polish a month. If you want to wait to see if the color goes into The Vault then you’ll pay $9 with free shipping. I love the idea though you still may miss out on a shade if you don’t have a subscription.

Island Sunset for September is an absolutely beautiful coral with pink undertones. This was a shade I loved wearing. Island Sunset has an iridescence that runs through it bringing a little sunshine into my life. It was a perfect shade for the end of summer and beginning of fall. And it’s just as gorgeous in October as it was in September and this gem is going to be one of the first that will come out of hiding come spring too.

Color Me Monthly brought me a Summer Tryst

If you were hoping for a summer tryst, you got one if you subscribed to Color Me Monthly!

Color Me Monthly is a subscription box that comes once a month with one fabulous nail polish inside.  It’s very affordable at only $7 per month and it’s a lot of fun opening the box to discover the latest shade.

Color Me Monthly Summer Tryst

Color Me Monthly sent the BIZ their August shade Summer Tryst, a super pretty plummy purple with a subtle shimmer.   I love how they send a card with a box on the upper corner for a swatch.  You can file all the cards in a box, then go through and choose your mani and pedi shade based on the swatches.

Summer Tryst – see the subtle shimmer?

The card has a beautiful haiku poem for Summer Tryst:

until days grow short,
promise to meet at sunset
where salt meets the sand.

It’s a beautiful poem and a beautiful shade!  The English teacher in me gives the poem an ‘A’, and the blogger in me gives the nail polish an ‘A’.

Color Me Monthly is a fabulous gift idea, a half-year subscription costs $40 and a full year is $75.  It’s really perfect for any polish-loving friends.

Color Me Monthly brings Wicked Wasabi to the nearest plate

sushi and wasabiMy husband doesn’t like to ask me where I want to go out to eat because my answer is almost always the same – I want sushi or Dim Sum. Mostly it’s because I want shrimp and I can get plenty of that at those two places. Well Color Me Monthly must have read my stomach mind because their color for July is perfect for my sushi cravings: Wicked Wasabi. You’ve got to love the name. Plus the color is a wonderful green even if it will make you drive to the nearest sushi restaurant.

Now if someone told me to go buy a wasabi color nail polish I’d honestly run the other way but getting this from Color Me Monthly to review has put a new spin on it. The color is a light green with yellow undertones to it. The finish is a cream which Color Me Monthly does so well. While Wicked Wasabi is not a polish that I can wear 7 days in a row, it’s a pretty change of pace for the right outfit and mood. Plus it’s awesome for nail art.

Making Monday happier with Color Me Monthly for May

Color Me Monthly for May 2013

Color Me Monthly for May 2013

It’s only been the last two years that I’ve ventured away from the nail polish colors that are work friendly. When I was teaching I always wore neutrals or pinks; then around December when my students knew me well enough I’d add in red polish. When friends started talking about colors like navy, black and purple I knew that it would be too out there for my life. Later I was an office manager in a very conservative business so no wild colors for me then. Now though I can wear whatever I want and people expect to see me in something they’d never wear.

I have a surprise for them this month. I’m wearing a gorgeous work-friendly champagne polish that would be appropriate for any walk of life. The polish is from Color Me Monthly and is appropriately named Monday.

“until the weekend,

polished and professional.

longest day ever.”

Monday

Color Me Monthly “Monday”

Every month Color Me Monthly creates one special nail polish for their subscription box and it’s always very timely. I happily received (press sample) the May box in late June and couldn’t wait to apply it. It’s a neutral shade but a neutral that satisfies the cravings of a color loving fiend. The polish is a very subtle metallic shade of slightly darker than champagne shade. It’s got the shine of a metallic without the glare. When the polish was first applied I was worried about brush strokes but there are none! Instead it’s just a smooth surface that you could ice skate on (if you were teeny weeny that is).

I’ve always been impressed with the polishes I’ve received from Color Me Monthly. They hit all the right buttons: cruelty free, an ecologically aware company, toxin-free polish and long lasting. The quality is superb. A subscription is $7 a month (or $40 for 6 months, $75 for a year) and includes shipping. If Color Me Monthly can make even a Monday appealing, just think what it will do for the rest of your week. — Marcia

Clear Skies Ahead with Color Me Monthly

Color Me Monthly, April 2013

Color Me Monthly, April 2013

Color Me Monthly has done it again – brought the perfect color nail polish for the season. This nail subscription box is not only a great deal but they seem to constantly have their nose to the grindstone, keep their eyes to the ground and create colors that are spot on. For April’s box they’ve produced a shade called Clear Skies Ahead that is a wonderful shade to help spring come out of hiding.

Color Me Monthly April 2013

Color Me Monthly April 2013

I was happily surprised to receive this box from CMM since every polish I’ve tried from them have been winners. The quality is superb, the colors are clear and beautiful, and they do all the right things. “Our nail polish is free of toluene, formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, and dibutyl phthalate (DBP). Color Me Monthly is dedicated to delivering what we believe is one of the ‘cleanest’ and most eco-friendly nail polishes on the market. We love animals, trees, and toxin-free nail polish.” Even the way they stamp their logo and the names on the bottles are free of toxins.

Color Me Monthly in Clear Skies Ahead

Color Me Monthly in Clear Skies Ahead

This month’s color is a true sky blue. I actually saw the sun today (the day I’m writing this) and the sky was bright and beautiful. I fit right in. Inside I find it tends to look a little darker and like it has a little more teal, but outside it’s the color that we want the sky to be. I just had to make that picture big to show you the deliciousness of it.

Color Me Monthly April 2013

Color Me Monthly April 2013

As you may know by now, I love my subscription boxes and I love my nail polishes. This box is especially nice because it’s only $7 per month. You receive one polish and it’s always gorgeous. Color Me Monthly lasts a full week on me. With Clear Skies Ahead the formula was a little thicker than usual so on the first coat there were a few streaks but the second coat filled those in and smoothed out the manicure.

With Mother’s Day coming up a subscription to Color Me Monthly would be an inexpensive idea. Your mom could get a surprise in the mail for as many months as you’d like. A 6 month subscription is $40 while a year is $75. It makes a good gift to yourself too, especially if you have the kind of family that usually forgets. (Note to hubby!!). color me monthly for mother's dayYou can see all the beautiful shades I’ve received from Color Me Monthly on the blog HERE. The polishes I missed unfortunately were February: Forbidden Crush – bright pink duochrome and March: Adorned – Shimmery bluish-purple. For May they have a metallic nude coming that will be office appropriate and for the summer months expect some more colorful vibrant shades.

I leave you with the Haiku that each month brings:

brighter days are near

courage is earned from struggle

break free from the clouds
