Love or lust? DERMA E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil and Microdermabrasion Scrub

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil and Microdermabrasion Scrub

Of course I have a crush on DERMA E – it’s natural, vegan, and it has such a great message! Recently I opened a box of goodies from DERMA E and the first thing I saw was this:

I immediately fell in love. Or lust. I wasn’t sure which.

Then I tested the products and my love affair became so serious I had to introduce this line to my mother.

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil

The first product I tried was the Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil ($15.99). This cleansing oil easily removes all traces of makeup, even stubborn eye makeup, as well as any dirt and grime. It leaves skin super clean yet still soft and hydrated. The oils include Argan Oil which is full of wonderful antioxidants, and Jojoba Oil which is incredibly moisturizing and plumps up those fine lines. Just massage this oil onto dry skin, then wipe off with a damp cloth. The only drawback is those who are bothered by fragrance may not appreciate the fragrance oils, which are natural, but are still there. I am not usually a fan of rose but this doesn’t bother my nose. However, if rose scents aren’t your favorite I would recommend trying before buying.

Ingredients include:  Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquioleate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Natural Fragrance Oils.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

The second product I tried was the Microdermabrasion Scrub ($32.50). This is a very gentle but effective scrub that I think will work for everyone except those with extremely sensitive skin. The little scrubbies are crystals from Dead Sea Salt and they are very fine, which I prefer – it makes for a much more pleasant scrubbing experience.  It gets rid of dry, flaky skin and really works those blackheads out and clears congested pores. It leaves my face feeling incredibly soft and smooth afterward, and the difference in the appearance of my fine lines is quite noticeable.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

I also love to use this on my hands and cuticles, as well as my elbows and knees! If you suffer from ketosis pilaris, those little bumps on upper arms, then you will really love this scrub. It makes short work of those tiny bumps.

I am quite sure that once you give DERMA E a second look, it’s going to be much more than lust for you – it will be a long-term love relationship. They have tons of great products, but these two in particular are great ones to try.  – Lisa

Microdermabrasion Scrub ingredients include Purified Water, Aluminum Oxide, Stearyl Alcohol (Plant Derived), Stearic Acid (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Stearate Citrate (Vegetable Derived), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Carrageenan (Seaweed Derived), Kaolin (Clay), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Pumice, Maris Sal (Dead Sea Salt), Glycerin (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

I’ve tried many scrubs in my time. Dense scrubs, salt scrubs, sugar scrubs but never a vegan exfoliating cleansing oil. Yes, you read that right- an exfoliating oil AND it comes in a tube not a jar so there is no mixing for you to do. Once you squeeze SpaRitual  Passionfruit Agave Exfoliating Body Oil out, you see a thickish base with finely ground coconut shells suspended in the formula. Brilliant! The thick oil changes to a milky emulation once you apply it onto wet skin.

The SPARITUAL story is  told this way “WE are here to remind you (and us too) of the importance of slowing down every so often so you can reset, recharge, rebalance and recalibrate and get back out there again to make it happen. WE are Activists for Self-Care, because we know that we must care for our self in deep and meaningful ways in order to best care for others and life itself.”

Valentina’s Naturals facial oils have changed my skincare routine in a wondrous way

Valentina's Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil and Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil and Perfect Cleansing Oil

Once upon a time in the dark ages of my life the idea of using an oil on my face would have had me running and screaming. It just wasn’t heard of to do that. My skin has gone through all the stages since my youth. I’ve been extremely oily, I’ve had combo skin, I went through adult acne, back to combo, and now I’m settling into dry skin. While I’m not ultra dry I definitely notice a difference. I’m happy to report that I lived through that very oily stage and now I realize that it was a blessing in disguise since it kept wrinkles at bay as I grew older.

If I hadn’t caved and starting using facial oils I don’t think that my skin would be in as good shape as it is now. Therefore when Valentina’s Naturals approached me about trying some of their facial oils I was happy to agree.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil and Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil and Ageproof Facial Oil

There are 4 steps in Valentina’s Naturals skincare regimen: Step 1 is to cleanse, Step 2 is toner, Step 3 is the treatment serum, while Step 4 is moisture. There are several varieties in steps 2 and 4 so that all skin can find the perfect perfects.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Step 1 is cleansing which is in the form of Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil ($18). For all skin types, this cleanser is 100% natural with 4 oils that make up its composition, all of which are organic. It has the most delectable sweet orange fragrance that makes me eager to wash.

It’s so easy to use and leaves your skin feeling soft and moisturized. It’s almost a shame to move on from this but it’s only step 1. The directions tell us to massage a pumpful onto your face and neck in gentle circles. Towel it off with a warm washcloth. No need to use another cleanser for double cleansing unless you’ve worn very heavy face makeup. I find that between the Perfect Cleansing Oil and a terry washcloth my face is perfectly cleansed.

Next step is to tone and use a serum. I’m in the process of testing a skincare line that has asked me not to use any other products on my skin. As much as I’m seeing a difference with that line what I missed was a richer moisturizer so when I added Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil ($24) my skin cheered me on.

Valentina's Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil is the perfect moisturizer to finish off your skincare regimen especially at night. This is their oil for normal or mature skin. I like to think I’m normal but for sure I know that I have mature skin. But if this doesn’t describe your skin you could pick Balancing Facial Oil for Oily or Combination skin or choose Pure Comfort Facial Oil for Dry or Sensitive Skin. Now it may seem counterproductive to put an oil on oily skin but it actually helps open clogged pores if it has the right oil that is.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Ageproof Facial Oil also contains wonderful oils that are good for your skin. The two standouts are Primrose Oil and Jojoba Oil. The reason behind using Primrose Oil is that it’s rich in skin-nourishing Gamma Linoleum Acid, which is often depleted in our skin as we age. Even though I “think” I know my ingredients, I learned this from Valentina’s Naturals: “Jojoba Oil is actually not an oil at all but a natural liquid plant wax which is remarkable for its ability to mimic healthy skin sebum.” I’ve used many jojoba oil products but never saw the explanation put this way.

Valentina's Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil

Since using Valentina’s Naturals Perfect Cleansing Oil in particular as well as the Perfect Cleansing Oil my skin is fighting the ravages of what winter was doing to my skin. I’m no longer battling dry spots or flakiness. My skin is feeling more refreshed and ready to take on the day. These two reasonably priced facial oils are ones I can wholeheartedly recommend and will purchase them when empty.

Makeup Wars – let’s remove that makeup with DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

This week’s Makeup Wars is about Waterproof makeup and makeup removers. Since I don’t have anything that’s remotely new in the world of waterproof makeup I decided to write about the cleansers in my life and in particular my newest favorite, DHC Deep Cleansing Oil.

DHC Cleansing Oil

DHC Cleansing Oil

If you are keeping up with the latest in skincare then you already know that Asian skincare, in particular Japanese, is storming the market. DHC isn’t a new company but it is an extremely popular one. I’m a huge fan of their products, especially the Silky Cotton Squares which I buy in bulk.

The vision behind DHC is rooted in the beneficial properties of virgin olive oil. Found to be one of nature’s finest ingredients for helping to achieve and maintain healthy, younger-looking skin, olive oil became the foundation for DHC’s full line of skin-gentle products.

Japanese products based on Spanish olive oil? It doesn’t get more unique than that. We think our mixed-culture heritage is right at home in the United States, where individual tastes and preferences are celebrated.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is a makeup remover for your face and can be used on your eyes. It’s the only cleansing oil that I’ve found actually removes the coats of mascara I use along with my eyeliner and doesn’t sting my eyes. I was wary of using it on my eyes at first so I just used it on my face. It did such a remarkable job that I became brave and used it to remove eye makeup too.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil directions

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil directions

The way you use this is to start with everything DRY. Your hands should be dry when you pump out the remover and your face should be dry when you apply it. The next step is to massage it onto your dry face and let it start working to remove your cosmetic residue. Next add water and watch it transform to a a milky emulsion. This rinses off cleanly and easily whether you just use water or a wash cloth.

What you are left with is a soft, hydrated feeling. It’s not dry, it’s not greasy. I don’t need to double cleanse when I’m using DHC Deep Cleansing Oil since this does everything in one step. That doesn’t mean I don’t double cleanse at times especially because I like exfoliating with a sonic cleansing machine like Instrumental Beauty Sonic Touch or the Michael Todd Soniclear Elite.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil ingredient list

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil ingredient list

  • In a clinical study, 92% of participants agreed Deep Cleansing Oil worked better than a leading cleanser at removing complexion makeup
  • Unique water-soluble formula rinses thoroughly
  • Rich in vitamins and antioxidants
  • Nourishes and hydrates for younger-looking skin
  • 1 sold every 10 seconds worldwide

The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is the world’s most popular product in its category. There’s no fragrance to it, it’s easy to get through Amazon or DHC’s website, and it works amazingly well. It’s one stop shopping. From now until July 31, 2017 they even have a fabulous special on DHC. If you are a new customer to DHC then you can buy this for half off, get 4 samples, and free shipping. That’s a total bargain and makes me wish I was new to DHC myself.
