Deliciously clean with Georgette Klinger Coconut Cleansing Milk and Coconut Facial Mist

I know, I know, it’s all pumpkin and cranberry these days, but I still can’t ever get enough coconut. For Thanksgiving, we didn’t served mulled wine or anything like that – we served what we call ‘mom’s drink’ – Malibu Coconut Rum with Diet Vernors.  Seriously, you’ve got to try it – everyone LOVES it, best drink ever! Anyway, coconut – I love the scent, and I love products that have coconut oil and coconut extract because they are so good for skin. My coconut muse these days is the fabulous Georgette Klinger because she has the most amazing coconut cleanser and facial mist.

The beautiful Georgette Klinger

Georgette’s story is really intriguing. She was Miss Budapest in 1936. She was given some cosmetics that gave her a terrible case of acne which spurred her interest in skin care. She had to leave Europe to escape the Nazi’s and opened a skin care spa on Madison Avenue in 1941. She was ahead of her time with her holistic, natural, and science based approach to skin care, an approach her line still follows to this day.

Georgette Klinger Coconut Cleansing Milk

I am head over heels with two of her products, the Coconut Cleansing Milk and the Coconut Facial Mist. The Coconut Cleansing Milk ($22) is a wonderful cleanser – first, it smells INCREDIBLE. I know my coconut scents and this is one of the best ever.  Deep, rich, fabulous. The ingredients are top notch – coconut oil, coconut extract, grape and cucumber extracts, everything you need to cleanse and soothe skin, hydrating and plumping, leaving it feeling soft and fantastic. This is a very gentle cleanser that will work on all skin types. If you love coconut, you will wonder what you ever did without this – and you’ll never want to be without it again. It’s that good, my friends.

Georgette Klinger Coconut Facial Mist

The Coconut Facial Mist ($9) is a perfect pick-me-up throughout the day, especially in the winter with the soul-sucking indoor dry heat. I use it to refresh my makeup during the day, or after a workout, or any time I just want a quick refresher. It smells delicious – not quite as intense as the cleanser, but still enough coconut to put a huge smile on my face. Ingredients include coconut, botanicals, and aloe extract, all things that skin just loves. This is a best seller for Georgette Klinger and I can see why.

Georgette Klinger products are made in the USA and are cruelty free, paraben free, and dye free. There is a very nice range of products so take a look – and whatever you do, pick up the Coconut Cleansing Milk.  It’s fantastic.  – Lisa

Kerstin Florian – Scentsational skin care

Kerstin Florian

I love trying new skin care so I jumped at the chance to try Kerstin Florian for Beauty Info Zone. I was sent the Rehydrating Neroli Cleansing Milk, Rehydrating Neroli Water, the Rejuvenating Moisture Balm, and the Correcting Rescue Creme in full sizes which was very generous.  (guest post)

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Cleansing Milk

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Milk is rich in phytonutrients and botanicals and is very delicately scented. It is so thick and creamy that after a few pumps I couldn’t get it out of the bottle. In fact, I had to have my husband open the bottle and get as much of the product out as he could and put it into a tupperware container. I continued to use the product this way which was not ideal as I had to scoop it out with my fingers.

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Cleansing Milk

However, I loved the way it cleansed my skin and left it feeling soft and moisturized. Its ingredient highlights are:

• Neroli Oil – extracted from the bitter orange blossom, hydrates, soothes and oxygenates skin
• Apricot Kernel Oil – moisturizes, softens and protects skin
• Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice – hydrates and soothes as it promotes healing and cell renewal

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water

The Rehydrating Neroli Water is my favorite of these products. The sprayer is top-notch and you can spray your whole face and neck evenly.

Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water

The bitter orange blossom scent is not long lasting but it is delightful. I love the way it makes my skin feel very refreshed. Its ingredient highlights is Bitter Orange Flower Water – “this aromatic essence eases stress response, calms the mind and uplifts the spirit.”

Kerstin Florian Rejuvenating Moisture Balm

The Rejuvenating Moisture Balm can be used as a once or twice weekly mask or as an overnight treatment. It, too, smells delicious. I use it as an overnight treatment and wake up with deeply hydrated skin.

Kerstin Florian Rejuvenating Moisture Balm

Its ingredient highlights are:

  • Horse Chestnut – softens and calms skin as it helps strengthen fragile capillary walls
  • Arnica Montana – floral extract reduces inflammation and promotes healing
  • St. John’s Wort – soothes irritation as it promotes clarity and even tone

Kerstin Florian Rescue Creme

Their Correcting Rescue Creme I used as a night cream. It corrects redness and promotes healing as well as moisturizing your skin. I don’t have redness nor am I in need of healing my skin but I can attest to its moisturizing properties and calming scent.

Kerstin Florian Rescue Creme

Its ingredient highlights are :

• Linolenic/Oleic Polyglycerides – complex of glycoproteins promotes tissue regeneration, faster healing, and production of collagen and elastin as it visibly reduces wrinkle depth
• Butyrospermum Parkii – rich in fatty acids, Shea Butter provides instant lasting moisture and suppleness
• Haberlea Rhodopensis Leaf, Boerhavia Diffusa Root & Beta Vulgaris Root Extracts – natural botanicals protect, revitalize, regulate sensitivity and protect against oxidative stress
• Tocopherol Acetate – one of the most powerful and protective antioxidants, Vitamin E also improves elasticity and smoothness”

From what I can tell, most of the line is either made in France or Switzerland and if you love exotic skincare with deliciously fragrant scents, you will love this line.  –  Guest post from Phyllis

I’ve joined the coconut revolution with Palmer’s (giveaway time)

Walk into any drugstore or superstore like Target and Walmart and you’ll be sure to see this logo. Palmer’s has been around helping us out for years. But they aren’t the same old Palmer’s of your youth. They are new and improved and keeping up with the times.

My blog partner Lisa is a coco-NUT. Anything that has the scent of coconut is something she’ll try so I had to sneak today’s products by her so that I could see what the fuss was all about. And now I do. Palmer’s has created two great Coconut Oil Formula products that I’m the one getting nutty about.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm

Cleansing Balms are a great alternative to regular cleansers since they are so gentle on your skin. This one by Palmer’s uses their Coconut Oil Formula which uses only ethically and sustainably sourced Coconut Oil and Tahitian Monoi Oil that’s been infused with Tiare flower petals. Sounds fancy doesn’t it? But this is just $8 and will last for so long.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm

Upon opening you’ll find a slightly solid texture that you use on dry skin. Work it onto your face with just a small amount of warm water and it will transform into a rich and creamy texture to gently remove everything from the day from dirt and impurities to  makeup. It feels wonderful while on and you’ll enjoy massaging this in. I use warm water and a wash cloth (usually a flannel cloth from The Body Shop) to remove this.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm

So why this cleansing balm as compared to some of the more expensive ones?

  • No Phthalates
  • No Parabens
  • No Mineral Oil
  • No Gluten
  • No Sulfates
  • No Dyes
  • Natural Coconut Oil & Monoi

Not only is this effective but the smell is intoxicating! My skin doesn’t feel stripped and this adds just the right touch of hydration especially as the weather is flip flopping around.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Hydrating Facial Mask

As a certified (or is it certifiable?) mask lover I am totally impressed with the Hydrating Facial Mask from Palmer’s. The first time I used it I was bowled over by it. This is one of the gentlest masks I’ve ever used and it’s definitely the least messy mask I’ve used. I can’t rave about this enough and for sure I’ll stop at Walmart to pick this up when I’m done with this tube.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Hydrating Facial Mask

It shows up as a pure white on my skin so my pictures wouldn’t show you anything. This Coconut Oil Hydrating Facial Mask feels so light on yet when I wash it off my face my skin is totally replenished and feels soft for days. It only takes 10 minutes to use and then I massage it onto my skin before rinsing. While it makes no promises to reduce pores and make me look 10 years younger, it does tighten up my pores and makes my skin look its best. I can use this as many times a week as I want because it’s as gentle as a lamb.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Hydrating Facial Mask

It’s made with pure coconut water along with a rich blend of natural oils (Coconut Oil, Monoi Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil).

  • No parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, sulfates and dyes
  • No gluten
  • Made with natural coconut oil and monoi
  • Formulated with ethically and sustainably sourced ingredients
  • With raw coconut sugar
  • Made with natural vitamin E

Not only am I happy that I’m now part of the coconut family but two of you will be able to win these products thanks to Palmer’s.  —  Marcia

Multi-task while you cleanse with IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser!

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser

I definitely need to have some confidence in my cleanser, so I was happy to hop on the IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser ($28) train. This cleanser is different from others in that it is a hybrid – cleanser and hydrating serum all in one. IT Cosmetics seems to be the master of multi-tasking, so of course this type of cleanser only makes sense! Why not cleanse and treat all at the same time? Works for me.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser

I was concerned that a cleanser/serum wouldn’t completely cleanse all of my makeup, since I tend to use full coverage products. If I don’t fully cleanse my skin I get some mean breakouts. I also thought it might be too heavy for my t-zone slightly oily skin. However, I was pleasantly surprised – this is very effective cleanser that definitely does the complete cleansing job. I use my Foreo LUNA, and I am sure you Clarisonic users will also be happy with this cleanser as well. I also tried it the old-fashioned way, just using my hands, and got good results – but I will say my results were even better with the LUNA. There isn’t a ton of lather since the cleanser is sulfate and soap-free, but you do get enough to feel that emotional satisfaction for cleaning that I find is helpful on some strange level.

IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cleanser

The serum portion includes collagen and hyaluronic acid, which leaves skin nicely hydrated and plumped up right after cleansing. This means there isn’t that tight, cleansed feeling – instead, skin is soft and youthful looking, which I definitely prefer! I am thoroughly enjoying this cleanser and will use the entire tube and am betting it will be a repurchase for me.

Getting all glowy with Pixi Beauty skin care!

samples affiliate links

People ask me all the time for an affordable and effective skin care and color cosmetics line, and I am always recommending Pixi Beauty.  If you haven’t picked some up at Target yet, you really need to do so pronto – Pixi has tons of wonderful options.  More of an online shopper?  Their website is easy to navigate and they always have great specials.  I recently tried some Pixi skin care and today I have three treats to share with you.

Pixi Beauty skin care has terrific packaging that keeps the efficacy of the ingredients intact.  I love the aesthetic, and the skin care theory is that skin should have a GLOW.  Exfoliated, hydrated, and treated skin has a natural glow that is only enhanced with great cosmetics, so Pixi Beauty skin care gives a wonderful foundation for their color cosmetics.

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

I read mixed reviews of the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser ($18) from other bloggers before trying this exfoliating cleanser.  Here’s what Pixi Beauty says about it:

• A deep pore cleansing mud, enriched with 5% glycolic and soothing botanicals
• Formulated to provide effective cleansing, yet is mild enough for all skin
• Complexion is cleansed and gently exfoliated to reveal radiant and healthy skin
• Deep pore cleansing leaving skin clean and glowing
• Gently exfoliates and revitalizes
• Mud deep cleanses
• Glycolic acid enhances complexion’s glow

I am a big believer in double cleansing and always use a separate makeup remover first – I find that this helps treatment-type cleansers like this one be effective and do the job they are meant to do.  So keep in mind I first use a makeup remover, and after that I find the Glow Mud Cleanser to be very gentle exfoliator that is almost deceptive in its subtlety. I hardly notice that it is scrubbing or exfoliating my skin.  But over time it does a great job of decongesting pores, removing dead skin, and removing excessive oiliness.  I think this is a great exfoliating cleanser, especially for those with sensitive skin that is normal to oily.

Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go

Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go

If you are a fan of the Glow Tonic, then you will definitely love the Pixi Glow Tonic To-Go ($18).  This is a jar of pads that are pre-soaked in the beloved Glow Tonic, the alcohol-free 5% glycolic acid that keeps skin clear and bright.  It’s a dream come true for anyone traveling or camping.  These are so much easier to take in the car for a weekend away, or even to the gym to wipe down your face and neck after a workout.

These pre-soaked pads tone, brighten, hydrate, and gently exfoliate.
• Skin looks clearer & feels smoother.
• The ultimate travel-friendly, gentle skin renewal
• Formulated with 5% Glycolic Acid
• Suited for all skin types

No need to rinse after using a pad, just follow up with a treatment serum.  And I just happen to have a great recommendation for you from Pixi Beauty, imagine that!!

Pixi Overnight Glow Serum

Pixi Overnight Glow Serum

The Pixi Overnight Glow Serum ($24) is pretty close to perfect.  The packaging is fabulous – it keeps all the ingredients intact and ensures their integrity and efficacy.  The ingredients include 10% glycolic acid and arginine, which really will make your skin look amazing and glowy.  Your wrinkles and fine lines will start to fade and your skin tone will even out.  The exfoliation is soothed by cucumber and aloe vera, plus there lots of antioxiants like vitamins A, C, and E as well.  This is a great workhorse serum that your skin will absolutely love.

Exfoliate & soothe skin with this miracle serum that works while you sleep to reveal a brighter complexion
• Formulated with 10% glycolic acid & arginine
• Helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and fade sun spots over time
• Enriched with cucumber & aloe vera extracts to calm skin
• Vitamins A, C & E to nourish
• Suited on all skin types
• Not tested on animals
• Paraben free

The combination of these three products – first the Pixi Beauty Glow Mud Cleanser for initial cleansing and exfoliating, then the Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic To-Go Pads to sweep away any last traces of dirt, tone and smooth skin, and prepare it for treatment, and finally the fabulous Pixi Beauty Overnight Glow Serum to further exfoliate, diminish wrinkles, brighten and nourish skin – give you a dynamic trio that couldn’t result in anything but glowy, gorgeous skin.  I hope you head on over to Target soon to these skin care treats for yourself!  – Lisa

Love or lust? DERMA E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil and Microdermabrasion Scrub

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil and Microdermabrasion Scrub

samplesaffiliate links

Of course I have a crush on DERMA E – it’s natural, vegan, and it has such a great message! Recently I opened a box of goodies from DERMA E and the first thing I saw was this:

I immediately fell in love. Or lust. I wasn’t sure which.

Then I tested the products and my love affair became so serious I had to introduce this line to my mother.

Derma E Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil

The first product I tried was the Nourishing Rose Cleansing Oil ($15.99). This cleansing oil easily removes all traces of makeup, even stubborn eye makeup, as well as any dirt and grime. It leaves skin super clean yet still soft and hydrated. The oils include Argan Oil which is full of wonderful antioxidants, and Jojoba Oil which is incredibly moisturizing and plumps up those fine lines. Just massage this oil onto dry skin, then wipe off with a damp cloth. The only drawback is those who are bothered by fragrance may not appreciate the fragrance oils, which are natural, but are still there. I am not usually a fan of rose but this doesn’t bother my nose. However, if rose scents aren’t your favorite I would recommend trying before buying.

Ingredients include:  Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Plant Derived), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Organic Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Polyglyceryl-2 Sesquioleate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Natural Fragrance Oils.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

The second product I tried was the Microdermabrasion Scrub ($32.50). This is a very gentle but effective scrub that I think will work for everyone except those with extremely sensitive skin. The little scrubbies are crystals from Dead Sea Salt and they are very fine, which I prefer – it makes for a much more pleasant scrubbing experience.  It gets rid of dry, flaky skin and really works those blackheads out and clears congested pores. It leaves my face feeling incredibly soft and smooth afterward, and the difference in the appearance of my fine lines is quite noticeable.

Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub

I also love to use this on my hands and cuticles, as well as my elbows and knees! If you suffer from ketosis pilaris, those little bumps on upper arms, then you will really love this scrub. It makes short work of those tiny bumps.

I am quite sure that once you give DERMA E a second look, it’s going to be much more than lust for you – it will be a long-term love relationship. They have tons of great products, but these two in particular are great ones to try.  – Lisa

Microdermabrasion Scrub ingredients include Purified Water, Aluminum Oxide, Stearyl Alcohol (Plant Derived), Stearic Acid (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Stearate Citrate (Vegetable Derived), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Carrageenan (Seaweed Derived), Kaolin (Clay), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Pumice, Maris Sal (Dead Sea Salt), Glycerin (Vegetable Derived), Glyceryl Stearate SE, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

100% Pure Organic Matcha Cleansing Foam Gets High Marks

100% Pure Organic Matcha Anti-Aging: Antioxidant Cleansing Foam

100% Pure Organic Matcha Anti-Aging: Antioxidant Cleansing Foam

100% Pure has been around awhile and seems to get raves for many of their products. As I was in the market for a new cleanser I decided to buy their Organic Matcha Cleansing Foam and give it a try. You know I like brands that are good for your skin and 100% Pure promises their products are completely free of harmful toxins, artificial colors and fragrances, and are natural and cruelty-free. But is this cleanser any good?

100% Pure Organic Matcha Anti-Aging: Antioxidant Cleansing Foam

100% Pure Organic Matcha Anti-Aging: Antioxidant Cleansing Foam

According to the box: ‘ This is a highly caffeinated, invigorating yet gentle cleansing foam that washes away impurities and makeup while feeding your skin antioxidants.  Organic green tea soothes while cleansing.  Formulated without sulfates or any other harsh detergents that can strip, dehydrate or irritate’.
Wet your face first then pump out a few drops (this is pretty concentrated) and massage it into your skin for a few seconds while it foams and cleans. Rinse well and apply whatever is next in your skincare arsenal. I use it in the morning so I can’t attest to its makeup removal qualities but I like the light fresh scent and clean feeling I get when I’m done washing. My skin (not dry but normal) does not feel dry or taut after using this.
I’m 100% sure I’ll buy more 100% Pure. — written by Phyllis
