Bare Minerals has decided to change what we use on our face in place of foundation. They’ve created COMPLEXION RESCUE which is a Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream. It’s a little bit tinted moisturizer, a little bit BB Cream and a little CC Cream. They’ve all come together to create something new and unique and fabulous. While these are press samples, I’d buy Complexion Rescue again when I use up this tube.COMPLEXION RESCUE ($29) is available in 10 shades. They have a shade finder to help you select the shade that’s going to be best for you. I chose Opal and it’s perfect for me. It’s rare that I can find a foundation that is light enough but doesn’t look ghostly.
The first time I wore Complexion Rescue I wondered if it was for me. The coverage was so light that I worried that throughout the day my redness and uneven skintone would bleed through. I was wrong and I’ve enjoyed this more and more as I’ve had the opportunity to wear it the last few weeks.
There’s so much to know about Complexion Rescue and the Bare Minerals website does a great job of explaining it all but here’s a quick recap-
* this is a fragrance-free gel that contains mineral based broad spectrum SPF30
* Complexion Rescue contains Mineral Electrolyte Complex to help revitalize your skin
* the ingredients are excellent humectants to make sure you get the hydration you need (olive derived squalene, marine botanicals, trehalose and glycerin)
* Heart leaf globe daisy helps protect against the environment
While you can use your fingers I really recommend using a brush like the Bare Minerals Smoothing Face Brush ($28). This is a new brush created by Bare Minerals to work wonders with this gel cream. It has synthetic dual fibers which give an airbrushed look to your application.
You will need so little of the Complexion Rescue when you use this tool or a similar one that your BB/CC/TM will last you so much longer.
If you are looking for a light, radiant foundation then set your eyes on Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It’s not for those who feel they need full coverage though. I’d recommend using a lightweight concealer prior to application to cover redness or undereye circles, use a wonderful brush like the Smoothing Face Brush and notice how much you like it more day after day. Have you tried this new mineral based formula? Do you like it as much as I do? — Marcia
From Bare Minerals: “Formulated without oil, silicone, parabens or fragrance to maintain the integrity of the skin–loving formula, Complexion Rescue combines marine botanicals and hydrating humectants to help refuel thirsty skin, energizing mineral electrolytes to help enhance skin’s appearance, and a skin–protecting antioxidant that acts as skin’s bodyguard to help defend against environmental stressors. A non–chemical, mineral–based, broad spectrum SPF 30 provides superior protection against damaging UV rays.”
