I am definitely a believer in bronzer. One of the things I learned in my cosmetics training is that nothing perks up a complexion better than a little color. A sweep of bronzer on cheeks and the neck can instantly transform ‘sickly’ into ‘healthy’. Beauty Addicts sent me their Hydra Sunrays Bronzer ($28) to try, and it’s a fabulous option for creating a warm, glowy complexion.
Hydra Sunrays Bronzer is a matte powder that also has skin-loving ingredients like green tea and vitamins A, C, D, and B5. As with all the Beauty Addicts products, the packaging is sleek minimalist black with a round mirror.
The bronzer does not come with a brush, but the ones that typically come with bronzer are useless anyway. My favorite bronzer brush of the moment is the Face Buffer brush ($17.99) from Makeup Geek.
This a lightweight, silky bronzer that can be a little powdery if you use a heavy hand. Just a light swipe with a big brush creates a perfect, natural looking bronze great for contouring or for adding warmth. The color is definitely buildable, but do it one swipe at time. I can’t see fair skin using this shade, but those with light/medium to dark skins will love it. The bronzer has a red undertone and I often use it as blush.
The texture is terrific. I often find powder bronzers apply patchy, but this is buttery and blends like a dream. I love the eyeshadows and lipsticks from Beauty Addicts, and now this bronzer is on my list of favorites too. Unless you have a very fair skin tone, this is a bronzer you will want to invest in. - Lisa
