Here at Beauty Info Zone, we are all about products that multi-task. So the prospect of testing the DNAEGF Renewal line always has us thrilled. This line addresses the past, present, and future! Dr. Ronald L. Moy created it based upon two scientific breakthroughs: plant-based Barley Epidermal Growth Factor and DNA Repair Enzymes. His products not only restore damaged skin, they also protect it from any more damage. The products are also made to work fast, creating a very visible difference within months.
For this go-round with DNA EGF, we tried their version of BB Cream – the DNA Sheer Defense Medium ($65).
I tried out the DNA Sheer Defense Medium. I am not one to often reach for BB or CC Creams because they typically don’t offer much in terms of coverage, but this one does a really nice job. Plus, it does so many other things I almost feel guilty not using it!
This is a creamy fluid that provides sheer to medium coverage. I find it goes on very silky and definitely smooths out skin texture and skin tone. The medium shade is actually a little light on me and my skin is somewhere in between light and medium. I use this by itself on weekends and during the week I use it as a tinted primer. What I really love about it is that is has an SPF of 50+ and protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Plus it also has DNA Repair Enzymes to fight the good fight against any damage that my skin has already suffered.
My only gripe about this great product is the packaging. The bottle is designed to look like a test tube, which is cool, but…it makes it difficult to store. So I kept the box and just keep it in that, and problem solved. Overall, though, I would say this is a real winner.
I rarely finish anything other than mascara and cleansers. It’s the nature of blogging that you move on after 30 days of testing to another product. But when I reviewed DNA EGF in 2011 and 2012 I actually got to the bottom of the tubes. Receiving this 3-IN-1 BB-DNA Sheer Defense Light that contains the same skincare ingredients as the others has been a pleasure.
This is an all inclusive, broad-spectrum skin protectant with active DNA repair enzymes that attack damaged skin cells. Since I have skin damage, from years of no sun protection, I know it’s important for me to use a sunscreen. DNA Intense Moisturizer uses ingredients that absorb and block the broad spectrum of damaging UV rays.
I find this to be a very light and sheer coverage. I’m the opposite of Lisa and use it alone many weekdays yet on weekends I’ll use it mixed with other foundation to give myself more coverage. (I also love the packaging because it stands out from the crowd.) Reasons I like using this include the fact that it has no fragrance and it’s never heavy or greasy feeling.
This skincare based BB Cream can be found online at the DNA Renewal website for $65. As much as I enjoy using it now, I know that in the summer it’s going to be an even better find for me.

DNA REPAIR ENZYMES: Engineered from marine and botanical sources, these powerful enzymes intensify skin’s ability to repair and defend cellular DNA by stimulating the recognition and elimination of damaged DNA. They have also shown to improve the thin skin around the eye area for a more youthful contour.
Zinc Oxide: Micro-fine physical sunscreen that easily disperses and absorbs into skin to provide sheer (no whitening), high-performance protection from harmful UVA & UVB light.
Vitamin E and Vitamin A: These vitamins provide the skin with additional antioxidant protection against damage from free radicals.
Broad Spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays.
