I adore anything vintage and the Le Couvent des Minimes line is a wonderful botanical based line with throwback packaging and classic products that take you back in time. Even better, Le Couvent des Minimes supports child and health care projects by giving back 1% of all of their annual sales to their Franciscan Missionaries. I have been testing two skin care products that get high marks from me and if you love summery scents you will really love these.
The Cloister Body Gel Cream ($18, 7 oz.) is a very rich body cream that has a super cool gel-like texture. The base is shea butter, and it’s combined with rose oil to lock in hydration while the other essentials oils exfoliate the skin.
This has a very pronounced rose scent, so if you love roses you will be in heaven. Rose makes for a great antibacterial and this gel body cream is a truly incredible hydrator. It leaves skin unbelievably soft and smelling feminine and well, yes – like a rose!
The Loving Care for the Face Cream for Sensitive Skin ($18) was actually inspired by Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. They protected and soothed those in need, and so does this face cream – it soothes skin, protects it, and keeps it hydrated. It gives immediate relief, and can even be used on children under the age of 3. It does have fragrance, although it’s light and a very soft floral. Ingredients include:
•Grape-seed Oil: nourishes and prevents dry skin
•Mallow Extract: moisturizes and softens
•Calendula Extract: helps to reinforce the natural skin barrier
•Rose Flower Water: soothes
