Giveaway alert! Surya Brasil organic goodness for hair and body

At Beauty Info Zone, we truly appreciate companies with a strong philosophy who are committed to giving back to the world.  So it was a happy day when Surya Brasil sent us some products to test…and the day became even happier when they also offered to sponsor a giveaway for Beauty Info Zone readers!

Surya Brasil was founded by Clélia Angelon in 1995 with the launch of Surya Henna Powder.  Two years later, she released Surya Henna Cream, the very first hair coloring made with organic ingredients.  Since then, the company has grown like crazy and now boasts a large array of natural hair products, skin care products, and body products.

Surya Brasil is very serious about their mission to create amazing products that “promote well-being and are developed with constant innovation, sustainability and social responsibility.”  Their products are all vegan, cruelty-free, and environmentally conscious.  In fact, the Amazonia Preciosa line that I am reviewing today is “enriched with ingredients from the Amazon forest biodiversity, and received Ecocert certification – a French certificate with international credibility.”

Here’s what I thought of the products they sent us to test – and keep reading, because after the reviews is a fantastic giveaway.

Amazonia Preciosa Cupuacu Shampoo

The Amazonia Preciosa product line uses Amazonian plants in gentle formulations for all different hair types. The types available include:

CUPUAÇÚ: Normal and fine hair
BRAZIL NUT: Dry and damaged hair
BURITI: Dyed and damaged hair
MURUMURU: Oily hair
UCUUBA: Curly and fragile hair

I tried the Cupaucu Shampoo ($19.99), which is for normal hair. The shampoo is oddly watery at first, but then it becomes thicker as you pump it out of the bottle. It has a beautiful, mysterious scent that comes from essential oil from Preciosa tree bark. Surya Brasil says that it’s “an exotic natural fragrance that is incapable of being reproduced even in the most sophisticated laboratories.” Pretty cool.

This shampoo does a wonderful job of cleaning my color-treated hair and leaving it soft and strong.

Cupaucu

I think it’s worth noting all of the things this shampoo DOESN’T have:

NO sodium lauryl sulfate
NO sodium laureth sulfate
NO parabens
NO artificial coloring
NO artificial fragrance
NO solvents
NO mineral oil
NO GMO’s
I can use this shampoo every time I wash my hair and my color stays vibrant. It’s definitely good stuff.
Brazil Nut Hair Mask

Brazil Nut Hair Mask

I also tested the Amazonia Preciosa Brazil Nut Hair Mask ($15.99), which is for dry hair. This is a thick, intense conditioning treatment that strengthens hair with Vitamins E, B1, B3, B6, Omega-3, copper and zinc. Like the shampoo, it’s worth noting what is DOESN’T have:
NO sodium lauryl sulfate
NO sodium laureth sulfate
NO parabens
NO artificial coloring
NO artificial fragrance
NO solvents
NO mineral oil
NO GMO’s

This is a treatment to use twice a week for very deep conditioning. My roots tend to be a little oily and my ends are really dry, so I put this on my ends only after shampooing. Then I put my hair in a shower cap and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Afterwards, my hair is unbelievably soft and completely frizz-free.

This is a serious conditioner!

The Amazonian Preciosa line also includes body products. I tested the Hand and Body Lotion ($27.99).

Surya

Surya Brasil Hand and Body Lotion

This is a beautiful body moisturizer that really leaves skin silky smooth. It sinks in quickly so you aren’t left with wet skin, just baby soft skin.

Surya

awesome packaging

I adore the packaging for this – the top twists up so it keeps the integrity of the lotion and keeps out bacteria.

Surya

thick, creamy, just yummy

The Hand and Body Lotion is a beautiful combination of exotic plant oils from the Amazon plus nut and seed butters. There’s no artificial fragrance or coloring so this will work great for even the most sensitive skins.

I didn’t get a chance to test out the Amazonia Preciosa Liquid Hand Soap ($28.99), but here’s the info from Surya Brasil since it’s part of the giveaway:

liquid_hand_soap.14
