Youngblood’s new 3 piece color collection for fall is called Going for Glamour. It features cranberry lips and cheeks with an intriguing mix of blues and browns for eyes. Maybe I am just tired of all my summer melon and peach shades but this set totally made me swoon. Youngblood sent the BIZ a preview of the set to try, and it goes on sale TODAY, August 1st. Trust me, you are going to want all three items. The one word that goes through my mind every time I wear this collection is gorgeous!!
The Pressed Mineral Blush ($25) is the shade Temptress. This is a beautiful cranberry with gold flecks.
Temptress is a very highly pigmented blush. In fact, the level of pigment really reminds me of Nars blushes. With a light hand, this stunning shade actually creates a natural looking flush, like you just came in from the cold or just finished a little bedroom gymnastics… because you are a glamorous temptress! What I truly love about this blush is it has great lasting power (nope, I refuse to go for the easy bedroom joke here.) I still have blush on even at the end of the day, which for me is just short of a miracle and is what seals the deal in declaring this blush a winner.
Going for Glamour also includes the Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad ($43) in Glamour-Eyes.
The eyeshadows are housed in a sleek black magnetic-closure compact with a large mirror. The eyeshadows have great pigmentation with a beautiful, buttery texture. I think this is a very intriguing and unusual mix of blues and browns. I never would have paired these shades together but they totally do that ‘warm plus cool equals fantastic’ thing.
The top row has the brown shades. Top row left is Enticing, a cashmere taupe that has a golden sheen. Top row right is Alluring, a warm golden-chocolate shade that is significantly deeper than Enticing. The bottom row houses the blues, although these shades make me anything but sad! Bottom left is Stunning, a beautiful denim blue. Bottom right is Charming, a light ice blue. Too much of this shade can look a bit frosty, but used lightly it is a fantastic shade of blue that really opens up the eyes, especially if you have deep-set and/or hooded eyes.
For the eye look below, I mixed the browns and blues and was extremely happy with the results. I lightly patted Charming on the inside portion of the lid, and applied Enticing on outer portion. I used Alluring in the crease, and blended in Enticing on the brow. I finished with Stunning to line upper and lower lids, plus I also used a brown eye pencil on the waterline.
The third item in the Going for Glamour collection is the Lipgloss ($23) in Siren, a deep burgundy with golden shimmer.
Isn’t that gorgeous???? And the name brings back great memories of that handsome George Clooney in “O Brother Where Art Thou” encountering the ‘Sigh-reens’…love that movie! Siren has a wonderful slip that feels great on the lips. It has my favorite doe-foot applicator, and it can be worn sheer or layered for deeper color. And of course, that shimmer just makes lips look luscious and glam.
So what do you think…am I a glamorous, tempting siren?? Ok, maybe not…but I sure do adore this collection. I think the shades are extremely wearable and flattering. I also love how this collection of shades is meant to be versatile. Wear the colors sheer for daytime, or layer for evening intensity and drama. Let’s not forget that all of Youngblood’s products are oil, fragrance, and cruelty free.
I highly recommend you bring out your inner Temptress with Glamour Eyes and Siren lips. Sounds like an extremely fun fall to me! - Lisa
