Tarte Fantastic Foursome Enthusiast Set review and swatches

Some of the very best holiday sets of 2012 are from Tarte Cosmetics.  Lip gloss lovers will adore For the Love of Lipgloss, reviewed HERE.  Lip crayon fans will want the LipSurgence Collector Set, reviewed HERE.  Cosmetics aficionados will be thrilled with the Big Thrill Collection, reviewed HERE.  And for the blush enthusiast, the collection of choice for under the tree is the Fantastic Foursome Enthusiast Set ($35).

First, let’s do the math.  This set includes four half-sized Tarte blushes.  A full size Tarte blush (0.20 oz) is $25, so this set of four half-sizes (0.10 0z) is worth $50.  You save $15 and you get four colors instead of two.

Savings + variety = fabulous!

The Fantastic Foursome

I have long been a Tarte blush enthusiast.  The Amazonian Clay blushes have excellent pigmentation, they apply smoothly, and they don’t fade away after a few hours.  They last a good 10 hours on me, which is amazing since most blushes last maybe two hours for me if I’m lucky.

This collection boasts new, limited edition colors.  There are two classic blush shades, one blush/bronzer/contour shade, and one highlighter shade.  Unlike the regular sized Tarte blushes, these do not have a mirror inside – however, the design etched into the blush is the same pretty scene that the big boys have.

Magic is a matte coral pink.  It is similar to the permanent shade Blissful, although it’s less orange with more pink tones.  I really like this color, it has just enough pink so it’s not too warm.

Fantastic is a matte fuschia.  It is similar to the permanent shade Adored minus the shimmer.  This is a very wearable pink that isn’t too bright.

Stellar is a peachy brown with silver shimmer.  The closest permanent shade is Buff, which is lighter and less brown than Stellar.  This is the most versatile of the four shades in the collection.  It works as a natural looking blush, or as a bronzer, or as a contour shade.  For a really terrific look, apply Stellar then layer Magic or Fantastic as a pop of color over it on the cheekbone.

Angelic is a shimmery champagne.  This shade is also in the Big Thrill Collection.  It’s a pretty highlighter that gives a great glow to your skin.

There is a lot to be enthusiastic about with this four piece set from Tarte.  If you can’t find it online, check out your local Sephora.  Hurry and get this before it’s gone forever!  – Lisa
