Did someone say cream blush? Is that what I heard? They might as well be calling my name if they said “cream blush”. That someone is Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics and they not only said cream blush but then they created 4 absolutely fabulous ones.
Youngblood produced 4 shades of Luminous Crème Blush ($27) for their new spring collection that is available beginning March 1, 2012. Here’s what the founder of the brand, Pauline Youngblood, has to say about these blushes: “Luminous Crème Blush enhances the complexion for a subtly radiant luminosity with a wash of color. It highlights and intensifies your favorite blush or can be worn for a light illuminated look.”
I love to wear a cream blush on its own. I love the dewiness that it gives me. I usually use a powder or Mally’s Pore Defender over my foundation but that often makes me feel that I look dry. Wearing a cream blush gives me back that youthful glow. I’ve been using all 4 of the cream blushes and trying to figure out if I have a favorite – no can do! Every time I put one on I think “this is the best” and then the next shade I think “this is the best”. So don’t expect me to pick favorites but maybe you can from my pictures and descriptions.
Champagne Life: this is described as a ‘bubbly taupe with a shimmery sheen’. I find that the word champagne fits it perfectly. On my fair skin it’s more of a highlighter than a blush. I like it just at the top of another blush.
Tropical Glow is considered a peachy-pink tone with golden shimmer. Tropical Glow is the one that works with everything I wear. I love peachy pink lipsticks so Tropical Glow works with my favorite lip shades. I haven’t reviewed Youngblood’s Pink Lust lipstick and Glorious lipgloss yet (upcoming) but it’s the perfect combination with Tropical Glow.
Rose Quartz is a silvery petal pink. The swatches don’t do this justice at all. On my skin it’s warmer than I’d consider a petal pink. It’s almost got a coral undertone to it. I prefer this with eyeshadows in the brown family.
Taffeta is described as a bubble gum pink but I don’t agree. That description makes it sound like it would be a light vivid pink but instead it’s a “my cheeks but better” look. A little like you just came in out of the cold.
Not only are the colors of these blushes special but the ingredients are too. These are oil free so they won’t clog pores. They contain Vitamins C and E which work together to help protect against oxidative stress. They are extremely emollient due to the Jojaba Esters. And they contain Allantoin which is a moisturizing botanical that is an anti-irritant. You have to love products that are not only gorgeous but good for you too. I use either my finger or my Japonesque kabuki brush to apply these fragrance free lovelies. They are long wearing and not tacky when applied and worn.

If you can say “cream blush” then you can say “I want these!!” I know I do! – Marcia

Those look beautiful. I love the look of Taffeta and Tropical Glow. I can’t wait to check them out on the 1st.
Oh, I love cream blush. Those look beautiful. Youngblood is a great company.
Everything I have from Youngblood is wonderful. I bought some at IMATS last year but not enough!
They are all fabulous. They aren’t sticky which is excellent for a cream blush. Tropical Glow seems to go with everything for me too.

I love those two the most. I’m so impressed with these and I have put aside my Le Metier cream blushes. These are easy to wear because they aren’t tacky and they look luminous on.
