It’s hard to keep me away from cream products – eyeshadow, eyeliners (gel), foundation, and blush. They all have their special qualities. I review a lot of cream products because they create a softness that powders don’t always have. My latest love is made by tarte. I always love tarte because of Maureen Kelly’s philosophies and business practices so when she comes out with something new I’m eager to try it. Maracuja Blush & Glow Brightening Luminizer and Cheek Tint is what I’m going to rave about today and you’ll soon see why.
There are three duos and they are all dazzling. Sunlight is a shimmer peach, Moonlight is a shimmering pink, and Candlelight is shimmering champagne. They have two products packaged together to use alone or jointly. You get a cream blush and a separate highlighter/luminizer in the one package.
The packaging on these is very clever and easy to use. You can keep them attached or you can separate them since there are individual caps for each. The blush part is so easy to apply. I just stroke it along my cheekbone and blend it with my finger. If I choose to carry this on its own then I’ve got a small package that fits easily into any size purse.
The brightening luminizer is a cream product with just a touch of shimmer. I promise it’s not glitter, just a highlighting shimmer. You can use it alone or mix it with your foundation depending on the amount of luminizing you want.
I’ve been using tarte’s Maracuja Oil separately at night for moisturizing since it’s such a light oil that absorbs easily. Here’s what tarte tells us about this oil: Derived from the Amazonian passion flower, this pure maracuja oil is a powerful and intuitive elixir that instantly absorbs into the skin, delivering a high dose of essential fatty acids and vitamin C to hydrate. Maracuja is known for its ability to reduce redness and inflammation of the skin. By adding it to the brightening section of this duo they are increasing the moisturizing quality of the product.
The colors on these are all beautiful. To start with I’d buy the one that you normally would gravitate towards whether it’s a neutral like the champagne Candlelight, the peach of Sunlight or the pink of Moonlight. You can’t go wrong. The cream blush wears about 8 hours for me if I set it with translucent powder. The luminizing quality lasts the day for me.
Tarte is always a favorite because of what they call skinvigorating benefits plus they load their products with skinvigorating ingredients like vitamins A, C & E, aloe leaf extract, maracuja oil, beeswax and soybean extract.

I’m far from the only one who loves these. In the latest InStyle magazine, May 2012, the Maracuja Blush & Glow are highlighted as an editor’s pick and there’s a way to get 20% off by going to http://www.instyle.com/bbb to get the discount until May 18, 2012.
At $32 these are fairly priced and you can purchase them at tarte’s website or sephora.com but why not take advantage of this special. You’ll see why I think they are so special. — Marcia
