This is my second go around with buying the PROSCRIPTION BEAUTY BOX. These come out 4 times a year and cost $75 each time. There are usually 2 different boxes, mine is the Fall 2019 Beauty Essentials and it’s a $280 Value. Take a look with me what’s inside and then let me know if you’d pay $75 for this.
I’m missing one product which wasn’t ready when the box was and then it got lost in the mail so that’s a bummer. Hopefully they’ll resend it. I’m starting with my favorites but I’ll tell you right away, I’ll be able to use everything (minus one item) in the box.
This is the be all and end all to oval brushes in my opinion. My first brush (10) unfortunately had a stroke and had to be disposed of so I purchased less expensive alternatives. But now that this brush is in my possession I realize how superior it is.
The brush is excellent for applying and blender foundation, bronzer and setting powder. I love it for foundation since it blends it so seamlessly. Plus it’s the softest most luxurious brush with its dense bristles.
My blogger friends rave and rave about MELT Cosmetics. I haven’t had that luck though because the shadows I bought were too glittery for me. Old eyes and glitter don’t make me happy. But this very interesting magnetic stack of matte shadows shows me why the brand is such a hit. RUST has all warm earth tones and while I prefer neutral earth tones this has satisfied a need I’ve had for the brand. I love how the stack comes apart and I wish that Le Metier had done that. These are so much easier to use and with the mirror top I could take as many pieces with me as I wanted. Melt Cosmetic eyeshadows are free of parabens. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free.
RITUEL de FILLE, INNER GLOW CREME PIGMENT IN LUST ($29)
The shade I received Lust fits well with the MELT shadows since it’s a warm sort of rusty color. It can be used on cheeks, lips and eyes; I use it on my cheeks. For my coloring it works as a contour/bronzer actually with a pop of color on my cheeks.
TEMPTU, Built to Lash Mascara ($24) is exclusive to Camera Ready Cosmetics and it’s Temptu’s first long-wear mascara with clean, nourishing ingredients. I haven’t used this yet since I have a few mascaras open but this is the next I’ll try and I’m really looking forward to it.
BECCA ULTIMATE LOVE LIPSTICK in GARNET ($24)
The colors varied from box to box and unfortunately Garnet isn’t my shade. It’s a gorgeous red which I’d love to be able to pull off but I’m actually trading this with a friend who had received a light shade of Becca’s lipstick (Sugar) that works perfect for my taste.
The above items are all full size which is what I expected in the box. There are 6 deluxe sample size products in the box too. The missing item is LORAC Front of the Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner ($23 full size) which I’d have enjoyed.
ONE LOVE ORGANICS, COCONUT WATER CREAM ($18)
I’ve just owned one other product from this cruelty free organic company and I liked it very much. This is a deluxe sample that has enough for about a month’s worth of use. It’s meant to combat dehydration and promote balanced, moisture rich skin. This will be great to try in the bitter wind. I don’t notice a fragrance in the jar which would be a positive for my taste.
LORAC BEHIND THE SCENES EYE PRIMER (sample size, $8) happens to be an eyeshadow primer that I like a lot. I’ve used up a full size one even and will probably put this in a travel bag but for sure I’ll use this. A full size is now on sale at Ulta.
BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR ($5) is a new shade in a handy size. I could have received First Light Primer instead since that was a variation but I’m happier with this Skin Perfector since I already use Becca’s primer.
PETER THOMAS ROTH – FIRMx EXFOLIANT ($16) AND POTENT-C MOISTURIZER ($10) are new products in the PTR line so it’s nice to have a preview. The FirmX Exfoliant is one that you roll off your skin and it will sweep away dead skin. This Potent-C Moisturizer provides powerful anti-aging, firming and brightening benefits. PTR is a brand that I’ve always liked but haven’t used much in the last few years.
ORIBE DRY TEXTURING SPRAY, ($11 Deluxe Sample)
I don’t really use items like this on my hair but I think I’d be ready to try this. It’s an invisible hair spray that builds volume. It looks like a dry shampoo but that’s not how it’s used. I know if it’s not for me that Lisa would love me to give it to her.
So here we are 12 items later and $280 worth of products. What do you think? Is this a box that you’d be happy to own? What do you think of the price? I’m happy with the brands though I’d like to see this sell for less especially with 6/12 of the items being deluxe sample sizes? — Marciasome affliate links used
