Want 32% more volume? Check out BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Haircare

BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Haircare

I know there are women with lovely, lush hair that is so full they don’t want more volume.  My own mother is one of those mystical creatures.  She recently spent 5 straight days in the hospital and walked out looking like a rock star with hair that hadn’t been brushed or washed the entire time.  Mine would have been a flat, greasy mess.  I need volume and I need it STAT!  So BioSilk Haircare’s Volumizing Therapy Line, which is supposed to increase hair volume by up to 32% (which is 2 more than 30, you know!), sounded great to me.

BioSilk Volumizing Therapy fuses nourishing silk proteins with the volumizing elements of Hair Volume Complex and the strengthening power of rice proteins. These essential ingredients awaken the roots and build luscious body and shine without weighing down your locks. UV absorbers protect your hair from harmful rays, while the Silk in BioSilk Volumizing Therapy gives hair added strength, moisture, shine and protection for healthy volumized hair. Hair Volume Complex, a botanical complex infused with ginseng and nettle, fortifies hair and invigorates the scalp. Sulfate and Paraben-Free.

I have always found that the right combination of hair products make a huge difference in the way my hair looks.  My hair is long, and I have lots of it, but it’s very fine and is easily weighed down.  It will also easily lose its soft feel and shine.  The right products, however, transform it into a lovely soft, floaty wonder.  It’s just a matter of finding the right cocktail, and I love trying new things and finding new discoveries.

BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner

The BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Shampoo ($15) is a wonderful shampoo!  It soaps up into a really different, soft foam that feels light and airy and rinses clean.  It has a distinct fragrance, a clean floral scent.  It pairs beautifully with the BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Conditioner ($16).  Often I find that I need a super moisturizing conditioner for my ends, but then I’m left with the problem of less volume in my hair.  This conditioner leaves my hair super conditioned and hydrated, but also full with tons and tons of floaty, happy volume.

BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift
BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift

The styling product that I tested from the BioSilk Volumizing range was the BioSilk Volumizing Therapy Root Lift ($14).  This is a volumizing spray for your roots that you spray onto damp hair prior to drying your hair.  It does add volume, but I can’t say this is my favorite product.  It makes my hair feel sort of stiff, and I prefer a soft floaty feel.  I want to be able to run my fingers through my roots, and it doesn’t feel comfortable with the root lift.  That said, if you want lots of volume, it’s a small trade-off.

There are other styling products available in the BioSilk Volumizing range, so be sure to take a look.  I can say that my hair is absolutely loving the shampoo and conditioner and the volume is wonderful!  You can find BioSilk online and at Target and Ulta.  – Lisa

I haven’t used Biosilk in a long time. I discovered the benefits of dimethicone for my coarse hair in a Biosilk serum.

  2. Shilpa | 2nd Nov 18

I’ve always heard good things about this brand, haven’t tried it yet

  3. Lola Seicento | 2nd Nov 18

This is a really great range of products from BioSilk. I have a lot of their products from this range and definitely think that they are fantastic!

  4. YVONNE WOODSTOCK | 2nd Nov 18

I seriously need major help with my hair concerning these exact issues these products are made for! I feel like I have tried them all, but apparently not because this is the first time I heard of this brand. It’s worth looking into. I wonder how they compare to my current favorites, so far.

Dimethicone does well to volumize, I just have to be sure not to use it right before coloring my hair because it can make semi-permanent slip out!

The root lift sounds cool – I really love the dispenser. I just colored my hair and am trying to figure out the best products that will keep my hair moisturized and the color stay longer.

That’s so interesting that volumizing shampoo make a difference in how wavy your hair is. I guess it has something to do with the weight/lift? The dispenser on this guy is super cool.

I imagine your mom’s hair looking like the ones I see on shampoo commercials. Hope she’s doing ok!

I am always in search of more volume, especially since I have such long hair that I can’t seem to part with hahaha

I always craved volume until I got hair extensions. These look nice for adding volume to your hair. I find that volumizing / thickening conditioner can help some.

  12. 25 Sweetpeas | 4th Nov 18

    Ooo volumizing sounds nice!

  13. Jen Walker | 5th Nov 18

I was initially curious about the root lift, but the texture it leaves in the hair wouldn’t work for me.

  14. Polarbelle | 5th Nov 18

oh heck yeah, I need some volume cuz….hormonal issues

  15. Kristina | 5th Nov 18

The shampoo and conditioner sound like just what my lifeless hair needs. I don’t like a stiff hair feel either, so I think I’d skip the root lift.

  16. Christy Peeples DuBois | 6th Nov 18

I will definitely check these out. I am always looking for added volume for my lifeless head of hair. I do not mind splurging on good quality products that actually do what they say. I have tried a number of root lift products and I find that they made my hair feel stiff as you stated. The mouss in those same lines of hair styling products however did not make my hair stiff but did add volume.

  17. My Nail Polish Obsession | 7th Nov 18

I have straight, flat hair. I could potentially try a product like this but it would be a waste on me because my hair is literally always pulled back in a ponytail or a messy bun.
