There aren’t many companies that impress me with both skincare and cosmetics but Pixi Beauty does exactly that. Their Skintreats line is not only well priced but it’s highly touted for being so effective. Plus the new products they’ve introduced just keep getting better and better. But today’s going to be about beauty which is my favorite subject in the world (after my two young grandchildren of course).
There are two different yet similar styles of Pixiglow Cakes available and it’s impossible to pick a favorite. These are so aesthetically pleasing with their gradation of colors. GildedBare Glow is the warm cake and PinkChampagne Glow is the cool cake.samples, affiliate links
In my eyes these are highlighter, blush and bronzer all in one lovely palette. “This light-diffusing palette helps to achieve a naturally healthy, radiant complexion with flushed apples of the cheeks, subtle contouring and glowing highlights. The shades in the gradient make it easy to create a sheer wash of luminous colour that enhances your PixiGlow!”
Pixiglow Cake in PinkChampagne Glow starts with a very light pink, slowly darkens into a fabulous brighter pink, which then morphs into a light rose toned bronze. The more bronze tone can be used for contouring as it’s not that dark once on my skin. My skintone is on the cool side and this palette gives me a healthy looking blush that looks natural yet brightens my face. It makes me want to smile.
Pixiglow Cake in GildedBare Glow
GildedBare is actually the one I use most often. I wear a lot of neutral eyeshadows with browns, golds and peach tones gracing my eyes. On those days I like wearing a warmer blush. But this isn’t warm warm, it’s more of a neutral warm. It doesn’t turn orange on my skin. With both of these palettes there’s an infinitesimal amount of shimmer. No glitter but you won’t see a flat finish either. There’s just enough to make you glow like the name tells you.
There are many ways you can use these. For example use just one color at a time or sweep your brush across them all to create a unique shade. The two brushes I find work best with these is a fan brush for sweeping and an angled blush brush for more specific application.
Not only are these absolutely gorgeous but they do good things for your skin:
• Ceramides help restore skin’s moisture barrier.
• Peptides plump and firm.
• Grape Seed Extract improves skin’s elasticity.
I get bored easily using the same cosmetics day in and day out. I want variety. I get that with Pixi Glowcakes, all in one palette.
Pixiglow Cakes are available on the Pixi Beauty website as well as at Target. One of the beauties about order from Pixi’s website is that you can accumulate points in their VIP Rewards with all purchases. The benefits are many. — Marcia
