Top notch skincare from Somme Institute

I’ve been very quiet on the skincare front lately but that’s about to change. I’ve spent the last 2 months using the most wonderful skincare system and now it’s time to share. As a beauty blogger I get the chance to try out a lot of products and I always want to give them a fair shake before reporting to you; a month is the typical amount of time before I report on something. I’m currently using a 5 step program from Somme Institute and it’s been 2 months of pure pleasure. I knew very quickly that this was a skincare system that was working for me but a few things happened that made me realize what a fabulous brand this is.

Let me first give you the information you need to know about Somme Institute (pronounced like “so” with an “m” at the end). Their basic program has 5 steps and uses a propriety breakthrough called MDT5. Molecular Dispersion Technology 5 (MDT5) allows 5 highly engineered essential vitamins (A, B3, B5, C & E) to penetrate the inner skin layers in their active forms at high concentrations. These are free-radical vitamins that are bound in a scientific matrix of polypeptides to target skin cell receptors.

Here are the 5 promised benefits:

  • Diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Eliminating blemishes and helping prevent their occurrence
  • Repairing skin’s past UV and environmental damage that appears as premature aging
  • Visibly lightening discoloration
  • Improving skin’s tone, texture and clarity

Now the real question is, did I notice these things happen?? And the answer is YES! Here are two examples…

  1. Mount Vesuvius is gone. Yes, the area on my chin that erupts with yucky stuff all the time is done erupting. The mark is still there, it’s been a problem for years, but nothing is oozing out anymore.
  2. During the summer I was able to purchase a special on some facials. My first one was just prior to starting Somme Institute’s regime. My second was this past weekend. During the first one the esthetician found a LOT to extract. It kept her really busy. During the second, 2 months later, she found 4 small areas that needed extraction. That’s it. Not even where Mount Vesuvius normally is found needed extraction. She told me to keep doing what I was doing.

That’s the proof for the second promised benefit. The rest of the proof is in the eyes of the beholder, meaning me and my support group that I ask all the time. While it’s very subjective I truly believe that my skintone’s clarity and texture are improved. My skin looks brighter and more refreshed. I like looking in the mirror and seeing more youthful skin.

Like I said there are 5 steps to the Somme Institute program. They are to be done twice daily but you can modify it as needed. As much as I’d love to go into a ton of detail, I don’t want to lose you so here’s a brief description of the 5 products.

Step 1 NOURISHING CLEANSER: The cleanser is a light creamy one that doesn’t foam. It gets my skin completely clean without leaving ever feeling any tightness afterward. It  removes every bit of my facial cosmetics without a problem.

Step 2 TRANSPORT: There are 50 pads in this jar that are toning and exfoliating pads. I use this just once a day although I did start out at twice a day. The pads are generously soaked with the ingredients. This removes dead skin cells while unclogging pores (aka Mt. V). It improves resiliency and gets the skin ready to receive the other treatments.

Step 3 SERUM: This serum is a vitamin C serum that was created by Somme and maintains a high concentration of the C benefits without oxidizing or losing its potency. Two drops is enough for my entire face, neck and décolleté.

Step 4 A-BOMB: As you can tell by the name this is a product containing vitamin A plus vitamin E. This is considered to be a Vitamin Infused Moisturizer and can be used independently but the real beauty is when you use this in conjunction with the Serum and program since they work together synergistically. This is a fluffy moisturizer that my skin just drinks up.

Step 5 DOUBLE DEFENSE: Double Defense is a waterproof sun protection lotion with SPF 30+ and Parsol 1789. The double defense is that it provides both UVA and UVB protection to shield your skin. It’s to be applied after A-Bomb. This is a beautifully hydrating moisturizer that calms and nourishes your skin.

This sounds like it would take a long time to apply your skincare but it’s really just a few minutes each time. There’s nothing to wait for, just wash, exfoliate, use the serum and moisturizers. Done. It’s not more than you’ve already been doing.

Each of these 5 products can be bought separately. They are sold at Beauty.com and used in amazing spas like Mandarin Oriental and SPA Nordstrom locations. The only product I needed to replace after the two months is Transport which I’ve already done since I love the system so much. Everything else is easily going to last me for 6 months.

Somme Institute  has won my heart and my skin. This is a program that I’ll be using for months to come. It’s recommended for woman of all ages and one that I will stand behind and recommend too. — Marcia

P.S. I love the simple clean packaging. The white containers with their color coded dots are beautiful on my counter.

  1. I’d loooove to try these. But even if they last 6 months, it’s still a lot to give at once to start out with… :((

    Check out my giveaway!

  2. My advice is to try Transport, Serum and A-Bomb. Those are the 3 key products in my opinion. With their specials coming up for Black Friday and Cyber Monday they’ll be much more affordable. I rebought Transport when beauty.com had 20% off and I’ll look into buying another with their upcoming specials.

  3. Wow, this sure looks interesting. I am a little tired of my current routine so I think I am going to check out Somme.

  4. Great deals on these products at Costco. Today Jan. 2, 2012.

  5. I did not like the serum or cleanser but am loving the A-Bomb moisturizer. If you have a local Costco carrying the line it is about 75% less expensive that other retailers.

  6. I only wish my Costco carried it. I did stock up on Hautelook when they had it for 50% off though. I love all the products and even though I test a lot of skincare, this is the one I use as my go to.
