There’s a new kid in town: Proscription Beauty Box

I wanted a taste of something new so when Camera Ready Beauty decided to debut their PROscription Beauty Box for $75 and added a bonus I chose to order. I didn’t have a clue what would be in the box since the above preview wasn’t available but I’ve ordered from CRC and knew their brands were ones I liked.

This is a quarterly box that can be stopped whenever you want. (**Side effects if cancelled may include: profuse sadness, dry/irritated skin, and mirror avoidance.) Tell me what you think at the end of the review, should I continue this or not?

opening the CRC Proscription Beauty Box

I didn’t have a clue what I’d be getting and I photographed it as soon as I opened it. I often read spoilers but I wanted to be surprised.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sunscreen

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sunscreen makes me happy. The SPF of 30 is a little lower than my current sunscreens but that’s okay with a brand like Kiehl’s. And who doesn’t run out of SPF in the summer? It’s good to have an extra. (2.5 oz $22 at CRC)

HUM Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow

HUM Nutrition Glow Sweet Glow is a product I wouldn’t have bought on my own but I’m happy to have it and will be using it. This 30 days supply ($25) has a tangerine flavor and helps with hydration and glow. These are vegan gummies.

  • Low molecular hyaluronic acid helps keep skin moisture locked into the skin
  • Stimulates collagen production

SMASHBOX Photo Finish Primer and SMASHBOX Studio Swag Eye Trio

SMASHBOX Studio Swag Eye Trio are the only sample sizes in the box. Inside are Smashbox Under Eye Primer, Full Exposure Mascara and Lash Primer. I’ll use the Under Eye Primer and mascara while the unopened Lash Primer will end up in a giveaway since my lashes are too lightweight for a lash primer.

SMASHBOX Original Photo Finish Primer ($35 for 1 oz size) is one of the very first facial primers that was creatd. Meant to smooth and blur, it does do that well.

Patchology FlashMasque Illuminate

PATCHOLOGY FlashMasque Illuminate single ($8). As someone who loves to use a mask this is a good fit for me. I’ve heard really good things about Patchology but surprisingly haven’t tried any of their products. This mask is meant to even complexion and brighten skin with Vitamin C and Grapefruit Seed Extract.

Beauty Blender Sponge and mini cleanser soap

BEAUTY BLENDER SPONGE ($20) is a treasure I’m always happy to have. I’ve used blending sponges for years and the original one is the BeautyBlender. The pink sponge and I have a long history so having another (latex and dye free) one is a pleasure.

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Rose Gold

BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Rose Gold

BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR in Rose Gold ($41) helps to achieve a soft, alluring glow. This can be used on your face or body. At first this seemed too dark for me but when it dried it turned into a gentle rose gold that wasn’t overpowering for my pale skin. Another winner for PROscription.

Lashes In A Box and Make-Up Atelier Eyelash Adhesive

Lashes In A Box ($8 #21) and Make-Up Atelier Eyelash Adhesive ($10) aren’t items I typically use. I hope I’m brave enough to use the lashes which are made of premium human hair and have a clear brand. They are supposed to be used up to 8 times. The Make-Up Atelier is a waterproof one that “dries fast and lasts up to 4 days”. Maybe I’ll find out, if not my niece who’s a freelance artist will get use out of them.

FITISH Beauty Cool Down Spray

FITISH Beauty Cool Down Spray ($28) is an organic CBD oil infused facial mist to hydrate and nourish skin. “FITISH Beauty ‘Cool Down’ facial mist works to calm, soothe and even skin tone after a workout or day in the sun. Infused with organic Aloe, peppermint, coffee and  for a refreshing pick-me-up.”

VISEART Soleil Eyeshadow Palette

VISEART Soleil Eyeshadow Palette ($30) was the biggest surprise for me in the box. I have several Viseart palettes but this isn’t one I’d have considered. But now that it’s mine I’ll have a ball with it. The colors are inspired by the warm sun and easy living in Southern France. “Three beautiful matte shadows in warm beige, bright yellow and vibrant purple evoke a vibrant, carefree sensibility, while glistening iced pink duochrome, shimmering poppy, watermelon, marmalade, and citrine add fanciful luminosity to the eyes.”

– 3 x Matte shades in Pastile (light, warm-toned taupe), Pastis (medium, warm-toned citron), Lavender (byzantine purple)
– 4 x Shimmer shades in Taffy (iced cherry blossom), Watermelon (medium-toned red), Marmalade (terracotta), Soleil (yellow gold)
– High-shine shade in Bonbon (iced violet-blue duochrome)

These items were all packed neatly into the PROscription box but two days later this arrived:

Camera Ready Cosmetics bonus PROscription bag

A bonus for ordering the first box they’ve made. Inside is a beautiful red BECCA Khloe Malika Ultimate Lipstick in Brave (a classic red that is neutral-cool, $24 but on sale at Sephora for $14.50) and L.A. GIRL Pinky Blush Collection ($10).

LA GIRL Pinky Blush Collection

BECCA Khloe Malika Ultimate Lipstick Love in Brave

What do you think of this box? Is it worth $75 to receive $260 worth of cosmetics? Are there items you’d wear? My favorites are Viseart, BeautyBlender, Becca Skin Perfector (and the Becca lipstick but I don’t wear red), and the Kiehl’s SPF. Did I get my money’s worth?  —  Marcia
